00:00 More Filipinos are expected to be able to apply for a scholarship in Canada this year.
00:07 In 2022, the Philippines ranked second in India when it came to being a source market for international students in Canada.
00:15 According to the Canadian Educational Technology Company's Apply Board,
00:19 the number of Filipino students who were allowed to study in Canada last year reached 24,000.
00:27 This is higher than 13,000 in 2021 and 5,000 in 2019.
00:33 So actually, we are seeing an increase of trend of increasing Filipino students who are applying for study permit.
00:41 We're looking into right around 30% of increase from the previous year.
00:47 At the Study Expo in Canada Fair held by the Apply Board in Pasay City,
00:51 20 respected colleges and universities in Canada gave orientation to applicants.
00:58 Some of these are Mackey One University at Bo Valley College in Alberta,
01:03 Seneca Polytechnic in Toronto,
01:05 Algoma University at Fanshawe College in Ontario,
01:08 and Alexander College at Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia.
01:12 We actually have over 140 programs for all of the interested students so they can always choose something that fits them the most.
01:19 We have a 93% chances that when they get out of the school, they already have job offers.
01:24 We want good students, we have the job, we just need the skill set to fill that community labor market.
01:31 There are scholarships and there are recruitment agencies and consulting firms that process applications for admission.
01:38 We do offer scholarships.
01:40 So for those students who have over 80% in their high school, they do have an ability to apply for scholarship up to $4,000.
01:48 We are based in the Philippines.
01:49 We have an office that can support while you're applying.
01:51 And we're also, our head office is in Canada.
01:54 The Study Expo in Canada Fair was held in Manila and Cebu.
01:59 In 2024, it is possible to do this in Davao City.
