00:00 Do you think this offense can actually hit another gear?
00:02 It's pretty good, averaging 30 points per game.
00:06 What do you think?
00:06 - It is, Grant, but I really do think there's another gear.
00:11 And I have a few things that I can point to as to why.
00:13 First of all, they had a game where Brock Purdy played arguably his worst football,
00:18 didn't throw any touchdowns.
00:20 They still put up 30.
00:21 Next week, Brandon and I ukes out, "Okay, no problem.
00:25 We're putting up 30."
00:27 Then you add in the fact, you start diving into the numbers.
00:30 Did you realize that the 49ers right now rank 20th in the league in touchdown
00:36 percentage in the red zone?
00:37 Their red zone offense has not even been that great, Grant, and they're still
00:42 putting up 30 points.
00:43 Third down, they rank 11th in the league, which is obviously, you know, upper-ish,
00:50 but they're not in the top 10 on third downs.
00:52 They're not even in the top 15 on touchdown percentage in the red zone.
00:57 That was one thing that we all kind of liked about Brock Purdy, at least it felt
01:02 like when they got in the red zone, they were cashing in a lot more than they
01:05 did with Jimmy.
01:06 Well, so far this year, that has not been the case, and they're still scoring
01:10 30 freaking points.
01:11 It's like, as long as CMC's on the field and Brock Purdy's not turning the ball
01:14 over, 30 is almost a lock.
01:17 It's really what it comes down to.
01:18 Now, if Brock Purdy balls out, they could go for 40, you know?
01:24 So, I don't know.
01:25 To me, I feel like this offense, as good as it has been, I'm not saying they can
01:31 put up 70 or do something crazy like Miami.
01:33 They don't have the speed that Miami does, but I genuinely--
01:37 Also, Denver's defense is terrible.
01:38 For sure, for sure.
01:40 It's awful, but I could see where the 49ers could be scoring 40 every week,
01:47 the last three weeks.
01:47 They left points on the board.
01:49 Like I said, the red zone percentage, touchdown percentage has not been great.
01:52 This offense has not yet hit its stride, and that should be scary for the rest
01:57 of the league, in my opinion.
01:58 Yeah, I was watching the Miami game this weekend, and I was thinking,
02:02 "Why haven't the Niners done something like this?"
02:06 30 points, all three games, great.
02:09 But the Niners have more talent on their offense than Miami, in my opinion.
02:14 Tyreek's great.
02:15 Waddle wasn't even playing, was he?
02:17 I think so.
02:19 If he wasn't playing and they put up 70, then--
02:22 Let me see.
02:23 That's--
02:24 Jalen, what are the stats?
02:25 Did he play?
02:27 I don't know.
02:28 I didn't know.
02:29 Hold on.
02:30 Game log?
02:31 Sorry.
02:32 This is the best part of the show, and it looks stuff up on the internet.
02:33 Nah, he didn't play at all.
02:35 He was freaking inactive, and they put up 70.
02:36 They put up 70 without Waddle?
02:38 Yes.
02:39 I did not know that.
02:40 I didn't watch a lick of that game at all.
02:41 Yeah.
02:42 I'm just saying, why can't the Niners do that?
02:45 Because it's not like McDaniel is that much better than Kyle.
02:49 To me, it's the quarterback.
02:51 No disrespect to Brock, but we've seen him miss a grip of downfield throws this year
02:57 where Tua generally doesn't, even though his arm isn't that strong.
03:03 Right now, Brock Purdy, 20 yards and beyond, is three of nine.
03:09 He's O of-- Who are O of-- I think O of three, 30 yards and beyond.
03:15 So that just shows that the kid-- Here, let me ask you this, because I asked this to Ryan,
03:22 and we kind of disagreed on this, but the Dolphins doing what they're doing, doesn't
03:28 it kind of give you hope that the 49ers could eventually be that with Brock Purdy?
03:35 That's what I'm saying.
03:36 Well, with Brock, yeah.
03:38 Because Tua's size, he and Brock-- I mean, Brock actually might be bigger than Tua.
03:42 Very similar.
03:43 Very similar there.
03:44 Yeah.
03:45 Arm strength is very similar.
03:46 No question.
03:47 Tua, I think, has gotten better over the last couple years, but I think Brock's can too.
03:51 That actually does give me some thought and say, "Wow, Brock, if he starts hitting those
03:56 deep throws, could eventually turn into a very similar player."
03:59 Now, don't get me wrong.
04:01 I don't think Tua's a top-ten quarterback.
04:02 No, you're right.
04:03 But in this offense, with those weapons, if Brock could start hitting deep balls like
04:08 Tua, man, how do you stop him?
04:10 Right, because Tua doesn't have a strong arm.
04:13 He's good on the deep balls because he has good timing and accuracy.
04:17 He kind of floats them out there, gets them out on time and in the right spot.
04:20 Like Brock, it's a little bit more of an adventure.
04:23 He muscles up.
04:24 He throws them low.
04:25 Like Tua's are very high in the air, and they're like pillows falling down into the receivers.
04:30 Brock's more like that.
04:31 So if he can get to his deep ball and stay healthy-- that's the thing with Tua too.
04:35 Can either of those guys stay healthy through a whole season?
04:37 Or maybe not.
04:38 Can they stay healthy?
04:39 Can their coaches keep them healthy?
04:41 Because as smart as they are, that seems to be the last thing on their to-do list.
04:47 Keeping quarterbacks healthy?
04:48 Yeah.
04:49 No, that's a very good point.
04:50 Miami has a ton of team speed, but overall, I look at Tua and say, "Brock Purdy could
04:56 be that."
04:57 I think he could eventually get there with some of this as well and lead a very efficient,
05:03 high-powered offense because of it.
05:07 One difference though, you mentioned it, between the Dolphins and the Niners is the speed,
05:11 man.
05:12 Every single dude on that offense runs 4-3.
05:15 It's crazy.
05:16 You didn't watch the game much, but Mostert really, really ran well.
05:21 But then the backup--
05:22 He's a 4-3-2 guy.
05:23 Devon Devon, hey, Shane?
05:24 4-3-2.
05:25 He's really good.
05:26 He's really-- what did he go for?
05:27 200 off the bench?
05:28 Yeah.
05:29 Yeah.
05:30 Yeah.
05:31 Off the bench.
05:32 That's pretty good.
05:33 It's funny because back in the day when you would play Madden, you never-- if you were
05:43 smart when you were building a Madden squad, it never came down to the overall rating.
05:47 It was always just, "Give me the fastest dudes on the field.
05:50 Give me the guys that are 95 speed and plus.
05:52 I don't care if they're 70 overall.
05:54 I'm going to win."
05:55 I'll work--
05:56 That's what it feels like Miami's doing.
05:57 They're like, "I don't care if you're that talented.
06:00 Can you run 4-3?
06:01 Okay, you've got a spot on this team.
06:03 We'll figure it out."
06:04 Okay.
06:05 Yeah.
06:06 A-Chain's averaging 10.9 yards per attempt this year.
06:11 Dude.
06:12 Unbelievable.
06:13 I can't believe Waddell didn't play.
06:14 I did not know that.
06:16 God.
06:17 Dave Barkley, "I'll buy you guys dinner."
06:20 Deal.
06:21 We're on the way.
06:22 We're in the car.
06:23 We will see you in a two day--
06:25 On the way.
06:26 How long does it take?
06:27 RomeGutLevel says, "Weird that Kyle Lynch extension came out now.
06:30 Why?"
06:31 It was interesting too.
06:32 I feel like Kyle listens to the noise and he's aware of it and tries to address it without
06:35 acting like he knows it.
06:36 So we all--
06:37 Me and my--
06:38 I think--
06:39 Me and my dad said, "Why would you do this after three games?
06:41 That feels emotional."
06:42 And Kyle was real quick to say, "This was actually done before week one.
06:46 We just didn't announce it."
06:48 I was like, "Oh.
06:49 Okay.
06:50 If you say so."
06:51 Kyle definitely listens to the media and here's how you know why.
06:57 Remember when the Trey to the Titans thing was going on?
07:03 The praying hands or whatever, they're like, "Oh, he wants to go to the Titans."
07:07 Kyle is the one that told Trey about that rumor, according to Trey.
07:12 He's like, "I didn't know anything about it.
07:13 Kyle came and told me about it and we had a good laugh."
07:16 So that tells you that Kyle definitely pays attention to what's going on.
07:22 That's why we're such good friends.
07:24 Rajbir Samra says, "Can Niners go undefeated?"
07:28 They could.
07:29 Can they?
07:30 Sure.
07:31 They could.
07:32 But--
07:33 If they beat Philly, they're going to be favored in every game this season except that one.
07:37 I don't want them to go undefeated though.
07:39 If you want the 49ers to win a Super Bowl, you don't want them to go undefeated.
07:44 This would be awful.
07:45 So boring.
07:46 I'm just saying as a fan--
07:49 I mean, eventually, eventually they'll do it.
07:52 It would actually be a lot of fun because now all of a sudden you're chasing a record
07:56 and you could talk about that.
07:57 But you're going to lose at some point.
08:01 I would rather it just happen at some point in the regular season.
08:05 There's only so much praise I can give.
08:06 Joseph Stockbridge says, "Trade for a West Coast DJ.
08:09 The game, Merc G-Unit."
08:11 What?
08:12 Like what are you, 2007 right now?
08:16 How about trading Juwan and a third for a center that will limit the bad snaps to Loud
08:20 Stadium?
08:21 Weird thing with Jake Brendel.
08:23 Weird.
08:24 Yes.
08:25 Two of them he's had.
08:26 Two of them he's had.
08:27 Yes.
08:28 I mean, with Alex Mack, he could blame it on the butt sweat.
08:32 Brendel doesn't have butt sweat that he can blame it on.
08:35 Doesn't even butt sweat.
08:36 So what's the deal?
08:37 I don't know.
08:38 He's just snapping it early.
08:39 Remember the towel in Alex Smith-- in Alex Mack's pants?
08:43 Yeah.
08:44 Nasty.
08:45 Yeah, that's pretty gross.
08:46 I mean, really, if you think about it, the whole thing's kind of nasty.
08:49 But he's snapping the ball very, very early on a couple of those plays.
08:53 That's 100% on him.
08:54 It's not on Purdy at all.
