Take a look at our 'First Trailer' concept for Warner Brothers upcoming movie Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024) (More Info About This Video Down Below!)
The inspiration behind this video:
As King Kong vs. Godzilla revealed, electricity has a strange effect on the monster. Surprisingly, it strengthens him somehow. Plus, his final fight demonstrated that once charged up, he can even discharge bursts of electricity from his hands, shocking his opponents. Though this was an invention of Toho’s movie, it’s long been theorized that the MonsterVerse would make this ability canon. But beyond a scene in Godzilla vs. Kong where the HEAV was used to jolt Kong awake, these powers have not been acknowledged in the MonsterVerse. That said, the possibility of Kong discovering them in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has remained a subject of speculation.
Skull Island, Netflix’s MonsterVerse anime, greatly hurt Kong’s chances of using his electrical powers in the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong sequel. These theories are based on the idea that if Kong were to be zapped with a heavy dose of electricity, his secret abilities would surface. An opportunity for that to happen came and went in the Skull Island season 1 finale when Kong fought the show’s main villain in a fierce ocean battle. The squid-like Titan, who has electrical powers of his own, electrocuted Kong with his tentacles. If he really had his Toho counterpart’s abilities, this would have been the right moment for his powers to reveal themselves – but that didn’t happen.
