Powder Monkey Brewery in Gosport has acquisitioned Southern Highlands Brewing in New South Wales, Australia.

00:04 I'm Ben Toomey, newly appointed director of Powder Monkey.

00:10 I'm Andy Burton, I'm the CEO of Powder Monkey.

00:13 So tell me what we're doing here today.

00:15 Well today we've very successfully announced the raise of £800,000

00:20 amongst a raft of new shareholders so we're absolutely delighted.

00:25 Secondly we announced the acquisition of Southern Highlands Brewing Co.

00:29 which is based in Sydney in Australia.

00:32 So Powder Monkey really has got a bit of a kangaroo in its little bounce.

00:38 Brilliant and Ben tell me how you feel about this all today.

00:42 Oh it's a wonderful deal.

00:43 I think what it does it opens up markets for us in the UK

00:48 and it also opens up Powder Monkey to promulgate that across Australia.

00:54 And we've got some big plans and we're looking forward to opening

00:57 the Powder Monkey Tap House in Australia.

00:59 Brilliant and tell me when that will be.

01:02 2024, it'll have a 2024 and I'd say quarter three 2024.

01:08 And so what does this mean for people of Gosport and kind of the wider area?

01:14 I think it's a big thing for Gosport.

01:16 I mean we've set our heart and soul in Gosport.

01:18 We have become very much part of Gosport.

01:20 We've had people from Gosport Council here today,

01:22 are very good supporters of ours.

01:24 But we also have a belief that we can take the brand to a national

01:28 and international level.

01:29 So our heart and home will always be in Gosport but we'll spread the news

01:33 and take that throughout the country and hopefully throughout other parts of the world.
