00:00 The first basic infringement in rugby is the forward pass.
00:10 The player cannot pass the ball to another player in front of him.
00:13 After a forward pass, the referee calls a scrum, or sometimes a penalty if he decides the fault was intentional.
00:19 In general, a player is offside when he is situated in front of the offside line,
00:25 taken from the last player's feet in a ruck, maul or scrum, or 10 metres from the middle of a line-out.
00:31 A tackle player must release the ball and is penalised if he or she retains it.
00:37 Opposition players, however, can contest the ball on the ground.
00:41 The player who has tackled the ball carrier must release the tackle player and leave the tackle zone.
00:46 If not, he is penalised.
00:49 When a player arrives in the tackle zone, or ruck, he must stay on his feet to contest the ball.
00:55 If he falls over and disrupts the flow of play, he is penalised.
01:01 When a player attempts to tackle another one, it must be done below the shoulders of his opponent.
01:06 If it is above, he is penalised.
01:10 A high tackle and a shoulder charge are two of the main offences leading to a yellow or red card.
01:15 A yellow card results in the player being sent from the field for 10 minutes,
01:19 and for a red card, the rest of the game.
