Duke Will Be A Tough Test For Notre Dame

00:00 But you kind of look at it and say, you know, how good are they really?

00:06 And are they the team that I thought they were were.

00:09 Coming into the season and you break down the film and you're like,

00:15 yeah, they're every bit as good, but actually, in my opinion, they're better.

00:19 And here's why they're better.

00:22 They're better in the trenches than I thought they were going to be.

00:25 They had a couple good offensive linemen, but I didn't think their offensive line

00:27 was going to be as good as it is.

00:30 It's such a veteran offensive line.

00:31 It reminds me it's not quite as talented or as big,

00:34 but it reminds me a lot of the Michigan line from two years ago,

00:39 which didn't have really any high draft picks in it.

00:41 Michigan doesn't have any first round draft picks on their line.

00:44 The previous two years, it was just a veteran tough.

00:48 Group that played incredibly well together, and this line's not that good

00:55 from the standpoint of it's as good as what Michigan's was a couple of years ago,

00:58 but it's very good.

00:59 They play very well together.

01:01 And you look at the numbers and the stats and you can you'll see

01:04 what I'm talking about when I bring up these numbers here in a minute.

01:07 But this is a team that's that's better in that area.

01:11 Their secondary is better than I thought it was going to be.

01:14 The transfers have really helped.

01:16 Al Blades has helped.

01:17 Myra Jones has helped them a lot in the secondary as a transfer in there.

01:22 Miles Jones, excuse me, has helped them as a transfer coming in.

01:25 Big, tall, rangy kid that that Mike Oko recruited,

01:28 I believe recruited at Texas A&M and he transferred here.

01:31 Got a lot of numbers that can throw out a lot of athleticism.

01:34 They're aggressive. They're well coached.

01:35 So they're an even better team than I thought that they would be coming

01:38 into the season.

01:39 And they were one of my five toughest opponents coming into the season.

01:42 And they were our trap game coming into the season.

01:45 And so you see that you're like, OK, they're going to need to bring it today

01:49 because this one could get a little bit a little bit challenging for Notre Dame.
