00:00 When we were working on this film,
00:02 we talked a little bit about music,
00:03 and I said my number one choice would be Hans Zimmer.
00:06 I sent him this little taste of the movie,
00:08 and he absolutely loved it, and he was like,
00:10 "Okay, I'm in. Let's do it."
00:12 Working with Hans and Steve Mazzaro
00:13 was a very moving experience.
00:15 You go, "Here we go.
00:17 We're gonna see some little genius moment happen."
00:20 He'll just play different combinations,
00:23 and maybe it goes-- no, maybe back, maybe--
00:25 maybe this-- little things will happen,
00:27 and you'll see him go into this little zone
00:30 doing something incredible.
00:31 Joshua, take care of her.
00:33 One of my favorite pieces of music in the film,
00:39 there's this conversation between Joshua and Alfie,
00:42 and musically, it has to all be doing
00:44 complimentary and contrasting things.
00:46 Are you going to heaven?
00:48 No.
00:49 You gotta be a good person to go to heaven.
00:52 So we're the same.
00:54 We can't go to heaven 'cause we're not good.
00:57 And I'm not a person.
01:00 The most important thing to me,
01:04 also to Hans, is emotion.
01:06 Music encourages you,
01:08 pulls you in a certain direction emotionally.
01:10 What Hans is doing in the film
01:13 just goes straight into the soul.
01:14 What do you want, sweetie?
01:16 To be free.
