00:34 - I am Chebe, Chief Chebe,
00:37 and I'm with the Glasgow African Ballerphone Orchestra.
00:42 And we are just one of those unique, rare,
00:46 perfect fusion of sound in Glasgow.
00:50 And we're really very, very excited
00:52 about taking part in the 2003 Sonica experience.
00:57 So Saturday is the day that everybody
01:03 need to come and join us at the Hayden Garden
01:05 for a fantastic afternoon experience
01:08 of many activities going on,
01:11 and perhaps finishing with
01:12 the Glasgow African Ballerphone Orchestra.
01:15 - What can audiences expect
01:17 if they've never seen a ballerphone being performed?
01:21 - Well, I would say that it's like the ballerphone music
01:25 and the gabo music is like a spiritual rejuvenation of life
01:29 in all its forms.
01:31 So we bring a lot of warmth, a lot of stories,
01:35 a lot of drama, and of course,
01:38 a bit of boom, boom, boom, boom, shaking and movement.
01:40 So if you are up for something to liven up the day
01:45 on a Greek Saturday, hopefully it will not rain.
01:49 It's sunny now, but if you're looking for a day to pass
01:53 and have a good time,
01:55 come to the Hayden Garden on Saturday.
01:57 You will be blown apart.
01:58 I mean, we've been rehearsing specially for Sonica
02:03 and the rehearsal is still not finished.
02:05 We're doing our last major rehearsal on Friday
02:08 so that we can have something unique
02:10 and special for Sonica 2023.
02:14 - My name's Amy, I'm the marketing officer over at Cryptic.
02:21 And this weekend, Sonica comes to the Hayden Gardens
02:24 Friday and Saturday.
02:25 We begin on Friday night with the opening act,
02:28 which is Robert Henke.
02:29 He's one of the amazing pioneering brains
02:32 behind Ableton Live.
02:33 And then we're following on with some homegrown talent
02:37 from four Scottish artists.
02:40 And we've got Muto Major,
02:42 made up of Veronica Petrikov and Sam Anga.
02:44 We have Lucy Duncombe and Fronia Wenberg.
02:47 And then we also have Sonia Kilman,
02:50 who is one of our Cryptic artists.
02:51 So on Saturday from three to six at the Hayden Gardens,
02:54 we have an eclectic mix of musical performances
02:57 in the Hayden Gardens.
02:58 So if people haven't actually came to experience Sonica
03:01 before, then it's definitely a good chance to come along
03:03 and experience some incredible music performances.
03:06 And yeah, and it's free and it's un-tickety.
