A COUPLE who ditched their conventional jobs to become adult content creators have said their new career makes them better parents. Jess and Mike Miller, from Southend-on-Sea, UK, who have been happily married for four years with two children, are now raking in £35,000 a month by making adult content. While in their previous jobs, Jess and Mike were so busy with their work they struggled to spend quality time with their 12-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son. When the pandemic hit and put their work to a halt, the couple started looking into alternative ways to support their family. They began filming content together and were surprised to see their videos quickly accumulating popularity. Jess and Mike's career move has caused friction with some family members. They also received heavy criticism online. But the couple believe they've made the right decision for their family.

00:00 This is Jess. She fell in love with Mike.
00:04 For a living we create adult content.
00:07 The married couple first started in the adult industry
00:10 as a way of supporting their family through lockdown.
00:13 I suggested to Jess, would she be interested in doing this?
00:16 I just thought, as long as we make the mortgage, we'd be alright.
00:20 Now we're earning around £35,000 a month.
00:23 We just make money from having our relationship.
00:26 But the couple soon found themselves having to deal with judgement.
00:30 My mum, dad, brother and sister all received an anonymous email
00:33 with all the links to our own fans saying,
00:36 "This is Mike, he's a disgrace to your family."
00:38 Some of my friends went a bit quiet on me.
00:40 I feel like a lot of our friendship group was mainly about the children,
00:46 like how it was going to affect them.
00:47 So under here, this is like all the fun, isn't it?
00:55 I guess this is all Jess's lingerie and board games,
00:59 lighting, dress up, toys, heels, everything you can imagine really.
01:05 So we met back in 2012 when I was working as a personal trainer at a gym
01:10 and Jess was a member.
01:11 We just got on so well, didn't we?
01:12 That was straight from the beginning.
01:14 You're wearing black, aren't you?
01:15 Yeah, a few wear black as well.
01:17 We've been married for four years.
01:20 Yeah.
01:21 We've been together for, we're into our 10th year.
01:23 For a living, we create adult content.
01:26 You ready?
01:27 Yeah, one sec.
01:28 We post predominantly on OnlyFans.
01:30 We'll typically make content like five times a week,
01:35 when we'd like to put it into Friday.
01:37 Yeah, every day.
01:38 So we both had normal jobs to start with.
01:41 I done makeup and...
01:43 I was a DJ, I run an events company.
01:45 When lockdown hit, it was like,
01:46 "Well, there's no point we're doing this job now anyway."
01:49 It couldn't have worked anyway, to be honest.
01:51 So I suggested to Jess that,
01:52 "Would she be interested in doing this?"
01:54 And there wasn't really much hesitation at all, was there?
01:57 Yes, let's go.
01:57 This job saved us, really, especially in lockdown,
02:02 because we both would have had no jobs.
02:05 Yeah, exactly.
02:06 I was a bit sceptical about it.
02:07 I thought, "It's probably not going to be very good,
02:09 but we'll give it a go."
02:11 We filmed a video, uploaded it,
02:14 and it just went crazy, didn't it?
02:15 Literally from the get-go, really.
02:17 I just thought, "Well, as long as we make the mortgage,
02:19 we'll be all right."
02:20 But the first month, we made way more than the mortgage,
02:24 and it just grew and grew and grew and grew.
02:26 And five, six months in, we realised that
02:29 we don't even need to do our jobs.
02:31 Now, we're earning about £35,000 a month.
02:34 When we first started doing the job,
02:35 there was a rumour that went round,
02:37 and then it came back to me.
02:38 So I thought, "Right, I'm going to tell my mum,
02:40 and I'm going to tell my sister,
02:41 because I'd rather them hear it from me
02:42 rather than someone else."
02:43 My mum went to me, she went,
02:46 "Oh, I got asked to do something like that
02:47 when I was younger."
02:50 So my mum being my mum, she was just like,
02:52 "Yeah, that's fine."
02:53 Her reaction was, "As long as I'm not putting myself
02:56 in danger, then she's happy."
02:58 My mum, dad, brother and sister all received
03:01 an anonymous email from somebody.
03:03 All the links to our OnlyFans saying,
03:08 "This is Mike, he's a disgrace to your family."
03:10 And basically just outed me to my family.
03:13 We went round the day after they received that email.
03:16 Not one person said anything to us about it.
03:19 They treated us no differently.
03:20 I said, "I understand you know."
03:23 And they said, "Oh yeah, we got this email."
03:25 But they were really supportive of it.
03:27 - Yeah, she said she was like,
03:28 "I was a bit shocked at the beginning,"
03:29 because it's not something she wanted to say.
03:30 I think whoever sent that email,
03:32 the timing of that email was...
03:34 - There to cause destruction.
03:36 - Yeah.
03:37 - Thankfully, it didn't ruin anything.
03:39 None of the family minded the day.
03:41 They didn't care.
03:42 They were all very supportive.
03:43 - We have two children, one of seven and one of 11.
03:47 - Yeah.
03:47 - We don't tend to keep anything a secret.
03:50 So with our job, we talk about it quite freely, don't we?
03:54 - We're very open with who we are and what we do.
03:57 - Yeah.
03:58 With our oldest, we've sat down and spoke to her about it,
04:01 just because her friends have seen us on TikTok
04:03 and they have more idea of what's going on.
04:07 - We sat her down and said,
04:08 "If people are saying this, it's because of what we do."
04:11 And she gave a really, really nice response.
04:13 It was like, "As long as you're happy
04:15 and as long as I'm looked after, then I don't care.
04:18 I don't mind."
04:19 Which is really, really grown up and really nice
04:21 what she said, wasn't it?
04:22 - Yeah.
04:23 - Our youngest is still, I think, too young to understand.
04:26 - When he gets to that point, we'll always tell him the truth.
04:29 We don't hide anything from them.
04:31 - With social media, we get a lot of judgment, don't we?
04:34 Jess was a bridesmaid at a wedding
04:36 and she did TikTok of her going to full wedding makeup
04:39 and the bridesmaid dress.
04:40 So some of the comments are like,
04:41 "You've props done her man as well."
04:43 "Imagine having this as a bridesmaid."
04:46 "Props gonna f*** the newly wedded husband."
04:48 - I don't want to sleep with any other man.
04:49 I want to sleep with my husband.
04:51 And we just make money from having our relationship.
04:54 We tend to not let it get to us.
04:57 But sometimes there are moments when you do just let it get to you.
05:00 You just think, "Why are people so mean?"
05:02 - It's not going to stop us doing what we do.
05:04 - No friends or anything like that have completely disowned us.
05:07 I think at the beginning, some of my friends
05:09 went a bit quiet on me or sort of weren't there for me at the beginning.
05:15 But I think now everyone's sort of warmed to the idea
05:17 and everyone knows that I've not changed as a person
05:19 and that I'm just the same me.
05:22 - I think I do ask a lot of questions though, don't I?
05:24 - You ask loads of questions.
05:25 - Yeah, all the time.
05:26 - You're probably the friend that asks the most questions.
05:28 Who's the most interested in.
05:30 - Yeah, I'm just intrigued by it.
05:31 I find it really interesting, what you do.
05:34 I feel like a lot of our friendship group was mainly about the children,
05:40 like how it was going to affect them.
05:42 It's like, "Are you thinking of the kids?
05:44 How they're going to feel?
05:45 What they're going to see as they get older?" and stuff like that.
05:48 But then at the same time, I feel like it was a reason
05:52 to have an issue with it as well, if that makes sense.
05:54 - So I think as well that even if we didn't have children,
05:58 I don't need that in my life.
05:59 Someone said that my partner thinks it's disgusting,
06:02 wasn't it? It was saying along those lines, wasn't it?
06:04 - But I think it was probably said in a certain way
06:07 and then replayed to you in another way, wasn't it?
06:10 Which is always the case when you're not there in the moment.
06:14 But most of us were just like, "Oh, okay. Cool."
06:19 - Yeah.
06:20 - I think maybe it's sometimes my insecurities maybe
06:22 of the whole dynamic makes it, yeah.
06:25 - I don't think my personal feelings have changed at all
06:30 because I feel like you've done so well with it
06:32 and you didn't even see it going that way, really.
06:34 - No, not at all.
06:35 - From the start, you don't...
06:36 - We just done it for a bit of fun and a bit of extra money.
06:39 And yeah, now it's become like our whole entire life.
06:42 - Yeah.
06:42 - If we had have stayed in our previous jobs,
06:44 we wouldn't have this house now.
06:46 We'd have lost this house.
06:47 I don't know where we would have been
06:49 because of lockdown and coronavirus,
06:50 it would have absolutely wiped us out.
06:52 - We've got a relationship where we're like best friends.
06:55 The job that we do allows us to be us.
06:59 It's free down weekends up for the kids.
07:01 Like their goals and their achievements can be fulfilled.
07:05 Like for us just being there at the weekends,
07:06 I would never want my children to be one of them children
07:09 who say, "Oh, my mom was never anything.
07:11 She had no time for that.
07:12 She had no time for me."
07:13 And the fact that we can give our time is,
07:14 yeah, I think one of the most important things that we can give.
07:17 - I'd say our plans for the future,
07:19 we're investing our money into sort of other avenues.
07:23 We understand this, what we do right now,
07:25 it's not a sustainable job in the sense that we won't be doing
07:28 this when we're 65 years old.
07:30 - No.
07:30 - Do you know what I mean?
07:31 But having said that, I don't see an end date to it.
07:33 - No, not the moment.
07:34 - Because it's just given us a life that we never thought was possible, to be fair.
07:37 Like we're always together, we get to work together,
07:40 we're being paid to...
07:41 - Have fun together.
07:42 - Yeah, exactly. And it is fun.
07:44 (upbeat music)
07:51 (silence)
