From Seattle to Miami, AccuWeather's Geoff Cornish has you covered with where the weather could cause travel delays this Thursday.
Transcript
00:00 OK, those storms across the Midwest
00:01 will cause some delays if you're
00:03 traveling tomorrow.
00:04 Jeff Cornish has what you need to
00:05 know in tonight's travel outlook.
00:07 We had kind of a slow moving weather
00:10 pattern across the nation this week
00:12 here with high pressure over eastern
00:14 Canada, low pressure off the East Coast,
00:15 formerly Ophelia,
00:16 and that's led to kind of a blocking
00:19 pattern that's keeping us not quite
00:21 totally steady here day to day,
00:22 but the changes from day to day
00:24 have been limited and we're still
00:26 dealing with some travel trouble
00:28 for the Ohio Valley parts of
00:29 the interior Northeast.
00:30 Now Florida is still locked
00:32 into a very wet weather pattern,
00:34 and we're still going to have some
00:35 occasional trouble into the Pacific
00:37 Northwest with some rounds of rain
00:38 and some showers here and there.
00:40 Seattle at any point during the day,
00:42 mainly in the afternoon on Thursday
00:44 into Portland,
00:44 but heading into the interior as
00:46 we kind of step down from the
00:48 crescendo of the most recent round
00:49 of Pacific moisture is becoming
00:51 a little less intense and things
00:53 are turning brighter east of the
00:54 continental divide.
00:55 Much of the northern plains and
00:57 parts of the Midwest do look good
00:59 until we get a little farther.
01:00 East beyond Chicago,
01:01 Florida still locked in,
01:02 though to a really wet weather
01:04 pattern localized flash flooding.
01:05 We had over 6 inches of rain earlier
01:07 this week in Saint Simons Island,
01:09 GA lingering showers possible
01:10 still in the morning Thursday in
01:12 Chicago but a little more likely
01:13 into midday in the afternoon.
01:15 Indianapolis,
01:15 Detroit and Columbus still could
01:16 be a few rumbles of thunder,
01:18 and most of the I-95 does look good,
01:20 though we can't totally eliminate
01:22 the chance for a shower or two later
01:24 on for the Northeast Coast,
01:25 especially into Friday.
01:26 Now,
01:26 Accuweather is the only one
01:28 that's the only weather source that
01:30 provides a forecast quite like this.
01:31 Really useful and you can leverage
01:33 this for your travel plans.
01:34 Our flight cancellation forecast
01:35 does show a bit of a spike on Friday
01:38 with some rain in the Northeast.
01:41 Thank you, Jeff.
