Motorists in Sydney are being warned of extra traffic this long weekend with multiple road closures scheduled across the city.

00:00 Drivers are being warned to allow for plenty of extra travel time this October long weekend
00:06 with major road closures around the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Warringah Freeway.
00:12 Lower North Shore motorists are being told to keep an eye out for roadwork signs and
00:16 detours especially around that North Sydney area on and off ramps to the Harbour Bridge.
00:22 So some of the major impacts include the Miller Street on ramp, the Falcon Street off ramp
00:27 as well as Alfred Street and also lane closures on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Warringah
00:32 Freeway and the Carl Expressway.
00:35 These closures start from tomorrow night and will be running until Tuesday morning with
00:39 different closures at different times so drivers are being told to avoid peak travel times
00:44 if they can and also to use alternate routes.
00:48 There are also changes to the rail network.
00:50 The T3 Bankstown line will see buses replacing trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham and that
00:56 will run until next Thursday.
00:58 Despite this people are still being told that the best way to get to the NRL grand final
01:03 on Sunday night is to catch public transport.
01:06 Around 80,000 fans are expected to attend the game at Sydney Olympic Park and Transport
01:10 for NSW says the best option is to use public transport including the special major event
