The Iron Claw (2023) | Von Erich Family Tragedy | Movie Trailer
Transcript
00:00 Iron Claw, gonna play four brothers from the Von Erich Wrestling family,
00:03 known for making a huge impact on the sport and...
00:06 They all died, so great job, WWE!
00:09 Those people loved Von Erich's.
00:11 And man, when they came out, the roof blew off that place.
00:15 Is this it, man?
00:17 Yes, this is it.
00:19 Welcome to World Class Championship Wrestling,
00:21 right here from the Sportatorium,
00:23 the most famous wrestling arena in the world.
00:25 People came from Japan, Israel,
00:27 and they wanted to just see the Sportatorium.
00:29 Little Jack Jr., only seven years old, was accidentally electrocuted.
00:33 For simple surgery, somehow he contracted toxic shock syndrome.
00:37 Once again, a son snatched, a brother buried.
00:40 Fritz gathered his surviving three boys,
00:42 Big Kevin, Texas Tornado Kerry, and Little Chris.
00:45 Four years, only two would be with him.
00:47 Chris was the smallest of the Von Erich.
00:49 At 5'5" and only 80 kilos,
00:51 Chris had to work the hardest to fight like his father and big brothers.
00:54 Chris broke his elbow.
00:56 The doctor told him he just might never be able to go back into wrestling.
00:59 He just destroyed Chris.
01:00 Chris went into the woods behind his family ranch,
01:03 and just like his brother, he took his life.
01:05 Now, Fritz Von Erich has but two sons left in his dynasty.
01:09 Some call it the curse of the iron claw,
01:11 but the Von Erichs don't look at life that way.
01:13 You survive because you're human beings and because life goes on.
01:17 These blows come, and we just stand up and roll with them.
01:21 Now, Kerry is gone.
01:23 That leaves only Kevin, the second oldest,
01:25 and now the last of the fighting Von Erich.
01:28 We've never wanted to come here without you.
01:30 Every one of the Von Erich boys wanted to be just like Dad.
01:34 Nothing could separate them until death came along.
01:37 Proud of all my kids. They were good kids, good athletes.
01:41 Elvis singing his guts out.
01:42 Willie singing his guts out.
01:43 Us rustling our butts off.
01:45 Dad rustling his butts off.
01:46 Pouring our guts into it.
01:47 Doing our very best.
01:49 The people would be so mad at her.
01:51 They're all not here anymore,
01:52 but I think of each and every one of them every day.
01:55 Coming here to the sporting room for the first time
01:57 with me and my dad and my brother.
01:58 Any time we go somewhere special,
02:00 we call it a stone of remembrance.
02:02 So I'll save this forever for this day.
02:04 At least we can take a little bit of it with us, you know?
02:06 If I had to do anything over again,
02:07 starting all over, the one thing I'd like to do...
02:09 You have to do the hard thing.
02:11 That's his truth. You have to pay a price,
02:13 and we paid that price.
02:14 If there's a God out there,
02:15 I thank him for giving me those fine boys.
