00:00 here in the studio I think you know Tim, you might have used some of his boots once or twice down the years.
00:04 We'll get to Tim in just a second.
00:05 I did actually.
00:06 We've heard the story Johnny, we've heard it.
00:08 Tim will have a question for you as will Robbie in just a second, but we just heard from Diego Dallo who said we really needed this.
00:14 How much was this really just about the result Johnny?
00:17 The result was massive and I mean you can always get the performance.
00:23 I think in order to get a result here you have to put in a good performance.
00:26 In terms of the way we worked, the way we pressed, we defended our box well when we had to.
00:31 I think if we had a bit more composure we could have had another goal or two to add to it.
00:36 Johnny, Robbie Hill here.
00:38 Good win, good performance for you mate.
00:40 Just wondering with all the noise that's going on around the football club at the moment, how's that dressing room?
00:46 Are the players affected by it?
00:47 Is it something you talk about or do you just get your head down and get on with the business?
00:53 Look, we know if you're a Manchester United and you're not winning games, you're going to come under a bit of scrutiny.
01:00 But I think hopefully the lads are strong enough to deal with that.
01:03 I've been in a position at this club before where I have experienced that.
01:09 Sometimes you have to just get your head down, you've no other option but to get on with it and try and put on a good performance the next game.
01:16 Hopefully we can take a bit of something from tonight.
01:18 We proved ourselves that we can take it to the end and even Andre catching the ball at the end from their last free kick was as good as the goal.
01:25 It felt like a massive result for us.
01:27 Hopefully that can kickstart leading into the next international break a little run for us.
01:31 Johnny, Tim Howard here.
01:33 Well done on a good performance in all three points.
01:36 Good to see you.
01:37 You were brought back into the football club probably as you would imagine to thicken up the squad, to be a leader.
01:45 Someone who has already been at the club and knows it well.
01:48 Give us an insight into your mentality when it comes to knowing you're going to start a game again and how big that is for you personally.
01:55 I didn't know until yesterday when I was about halfway through training and the manager just sort of named the team.
02:05 I was out looking around and a few people were looking around.
02:08 It was an amazing moment for me.
02:10 I was buzzing for it. I was just thinking I couldn't wait.
02:16 Like I say, it got off to a great start.
02:19 I was unfortunate to have the goal ruled out but obviously to get the assist in and more importantly for me to try and get the clean sheet to help the team in that sense.
02:28 And Johnny, just finally, Tim has shared with us in the studio but our viewers don't know.
02:33 The relationship with you and Tim goes back a number of years.
02:36 Just share with us.
02:37 So you wore his boots. Tell us a story.
02:40 I used to ask the kit man every time.
02:45 We were similar size so I would ask the kit man to make sure if Tim's got any spare boots.
02:49 Make sure you keep them for me.
02:51 Tim, you remember you used to have the elastic around the tongue on your old tempo boots?
02:56 I had these special boots that were tailor made for him.
03:02 I can remember going on loan to Antwerp when I was about 18 years old.
03:07 They were the only boots I could wear and I used to try and get Oli Gwily to send them over to me.
03:13 When he left the club he left plenty of boots behind.
03:18 Johnny, his shoe game is still strong. I'm going to send you some in the post.
03:24 Thanks. I appreciate it.
03:26 Brilliant stuff. Thank you so much for joining us and well done today.
03:29 All the best. Thank you.
03:30 Cheers, Johnny.
