00:19 Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo was appointed the 2016 Arbitral Award in the South China Sea

00:25 that favors the Philippines and opposes the annexation of China

00:29 when the decision was made to dissolve the State of Historic Rights and Maritime Entitlements in the South China Sea.

00:35 And after 7 years, the ruling was already part of the international law.

00:40 Manalo said that the compliance with the international law

00:43 will help to keep the Indo-Pacific region stable and peaceful.

00:48 We advocate the peaceful settlement of disputes in accordance with international law.

00:54 This has always been our position with respect to the disputes in the West Philippine Sea.

01:00 Inasmuch as we are prepared to defend our sovereignty, sovereign rights, and territorial integrity.

01:07 But China's protest, which was previously not recognized as arbitral ruling,

01:11 is not the UN's forum for issues concerning the South China Sea.

01:16 The tribunal's so-called ruling was illegal and now unvoid.

01:20 China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests in the South China Sea

01:25 will not be compromised by the said ruling under any circumstances.

01:29 China is ready to resolve maritime disputes through dialogue and consultation with the Philippines.

01:36 The Philippines said that it plans to appeal to the court against the destroyed coral reefs in the Ruzul Reef in the West Philippine Sea.

01:45 But China called it a "political drama."

01:48 The Philippines also called on the developing countries to fulfill their obligation to reduce the effects of climate change.
