00:00 The Syracuse football program is 3-0 in back-to-back seasons
00:04 for the first time since the 1959-1960 campaign.
00:08 And for quarterback Garrett Schrader,
00:10 he's getting a lot of national attention right now,
00:13 but maybe the defense isn't getting the flowers
00:16 that they deserve.
00:17 The mob right now, through the first three games
00:19 of the season, is still towards the top of the entire country
00:23 in multiple different defensive categories.
00:25 And that's something that Captain Linebacker Marlo Wax
00:29 takes a lot of pride in.
00:30 He told me earlier today that he believes his performance
00:33 Saturday at Purdue is one of the most versatile
00:36 that he's had in his collegiate career,
00:38 with eight solo tackles, two forced fumbles,
00:41 an interception, and a sack.
00:43 But one area the captain really wants to see Syracuse improve
00:46 in is limiting the amount of penalties
00:49 on the defensive end of the ball,
00:51 especially considering that they are playing
00:53 a very disciplined Army team at the Dome on Saturday.
00:57 But also with penalties, we've been having too many
01:00 the past few games.
01:01 We know Army's not going to really have too much,
01:03 so we got to focus on that, these kind of practices.
01:06 Syracuse looks to ride that momentum into the Dome
01:10 on Saturday with kickoffs slated for noon against Army.
01:14 Reporting live from the Lally Center,
01:16 Griffin Della Pena, Syracuse on FM.
