00:25 about this man, Ryan Murphy.

00:31 The creator behind American Horror Story,
00:33 multiple shows that we've talked about and covered, okay?
00:38 So, Angelica Ross, and this is from our friends
00:41 over at The Wrap, they said,
00:42 "Known for her work in Pose and American Horror Story,"
00:45 said that Ryan Murphy left her quote, "on read"
00:48 about a seemingly scrapped season of American Horror Story
00:52 that would feature a cast led by Black women.
00:57 All right? So, Ross posted screenshots of emails
01:01 sent between herself and the prolific producer
01:04 dating back to July 2020 on Monday,
01:08 in which Murphy seemed to confirm the existence
01:10 of the season and asked Ross for guidance
01:13 on which other women should lead the installment.
01:16 I'm just mad now. Is this gonna force his hand?
01:19 Like, I want to see this.
01:21 Okay, let me just post up the things for you guys
01:24 so you can see what I'm talking about.
01:26 So, this was the email that on July 3rd,
01:29 Ryan Murphy, the producer, sent to Angelica saying,
01:35 "Remember your idea about a horror season
01:38 starring Black women? While I'm doing it.
01:41 Not sure of the story yet,
01:44 but we will start a writer's room in the fall."
01:47 Okay, that was in 2020.
01:49 Angelica responds and says, "Yes!"
01:53 Sorry. (CHUCKLES) I had to.
01:55 That's how she wrote it.
01:56 All right? So, Angelica says,
01:58 "Debbie Morgan, Ys Bayou, the culture would live."
02:02 And she's a powerhouse actress.
02:04 And she says, "Also, someone like Lynn Whitfield
02:08 or Alfre Woodward would turn it.
02:11 But I would totally say me, Kiki, Kiki Palmer,
02:15 Gabby, me and Gabby, Gabby Rae Sidibe,
02:17 and Idina or Angela Bassett,
02:20 but I know she's probably locked in
02:22 on one of your other shows.
02:23 Idina, also my sis, Amaya Scott from Star on Fox,
02:27 would be a great choice too."

02:48 Halle Berry, the list definitely goes on.

02:57 It doesn't end there, though.
02:59 So, Angelica did post more receipts on her social media,
03:05 and she says that she has more, she has time,
03:07 she says, "We're on strike, I have time today."

03:10 So, she continues.
03:12 She reposted the Raps original article about this,
03:16 saying, "It's not just that the idea changed.
03:20 Things change all the time.
03:22 It's just that I called Business Affairs for months,
03:25 trying to get clarity if they were picking up
03:28 my contract option, or if I was okay to tell Marvel,"
03:32 'cause she had Marvel as a possibility for her career,
03:36 which would be huge.
03:38 Can you see her playing Storm? I can't, just saying.
03:41 All right. "That I was available for
03:44 whatever they were calling me for.
03:46 I had been auditioning for three years for Marvel.
03:49 It's that I was held in first position the whole time."

03:56 Someone says, "Ryan is very shady like the rest of the industry,

04:02 for not taking the Marvel bag as soon as she could branch
04:06 away from the Ryan Murphy typecast."

04:12 I was yelling at my agents, 'Just tell them I'm available!'
04:16 But they said that we couldn't do that
04:19 because if they turned around and said I wasn't,
04:21 we'd have an issue.
04:22 That's why we kept calling them, trying to get answers."
04:26 So, she then says this. She says, "After not hearing back,
04:32 after sending flowers and no response,
04:35 I sent one last email in February of 2022.
04:38 It took about a year to film season 10 due to COVID,
04:42 while still contractually in first position with the show."
04:46 Mind you, Marvel had called twice now.
04:49 I haven't heard from him since.
04:51 So, you can see her email here. She says, "Good morning.
04:55 Up cleaning and organizing and thinking about
04:57 what season 11's focus could be, and then just thought maybe
05:01 that I ask you that when the-- when that formulates,
05:05 if I could be on the producing side as well.
05:07 I think I could add a lot to the table
05:10 in the overall storyline if we're still looking
05:12 to do a Black lead cast. Have a great week."
05:16 So, Angelica's mad, and rightfully so,
05:19 because to miss out on an opportunity to work for Marvel,
05:22 that could secure her for a while.

05:30 But I also understand, like, her agents could not secure her
05:34 in that position with Marvel,
05:37 because she's contractually obligated to Ryan Murphy.

05:49 multiple times at the time.
