Motorcyclist in viral video fined RM5,000 for crashing into JPJ officer

A 25-year-old man, charged with crashing his motorcycle into a Road Transport Department (JPJ) enforcement officer at a roadblock, has been fined RM5,000 by the Magistrate's Court in Port Dickson after he pleaded guilty on Thursday (Sept 21).  Magistrate Uthman Abd Ghani also ordered Nor Khairul Azwa Azizi, a security guard, to serve three months in jail if he could not pay the fine. 00:39 He told the court that he had also lost his job due to the incident.

00:43 Deputy Public Prosecutor Nadia Izati Mohamad Zainal then urged the court to impose a punishment

00:49 commensurate with the crime and to deter others from obstructing government servants carrying

00:54 She said the court also had to consider the injuries sustained by the officer.
