00:00 Hey I'm Reba McEntire and I am the newest coach on The Voice. I took Blake, this was his charity.
00:07 So what I plan on doing is I'm channeling Blake. I'm gonna win this sucker.
00:16 People of America, Queen Reba has arrived.
00:27 I was so excited that the Queen of Country Reba was gonna be filling Blake's seat. I'm Reba.
00:35 Hi nice to meet you. If I was turned around and seen you I think it would have been a different
00:40 story. But you didn't. I just want to say that I am thrilled to be sitting in Blake's chair.
00:47 I hope I do it justice. Maybe someone can finally class up that chair. You know what I'm saying?
00:53 Reba McEntire is here. She's had successful sitcoms. She's had a massively successful
00:59 recording career. She's been performing. She's beloved. She's got such a magnetic personality.
01:05 Why did you pick that particular Reba song? Because it's the best. It was written by a
01:10 strong woman. It was made famous by a strong woman and it represents lyrically what women
01:16 do to survive. So I feel that song in every bone in my body. I love that. Way to go.
01:22 When we talk about icons and legends, there's not too many bigger than Reba. Way to go. It's
01:26 amazing to have her here at season 24. I'm so glad that I got to be part of this panel with her.
01:31 Welcome back guys. We've never been together in this combination. This is so weird. Very exciting.
01:35 Welcome to my show you guys. Yeah well Blake told me that I'm the star now. Yeah but he's not.
01:42 She joined us as a mega mentor last season and just watching her with the artists was so
01:51 impressive. The way she talked through the singing side, the technical side, it's priceless. I'm
01:55 having a hard time understanding your words. You put right between your two teeth. Okay. And you
02:01 say A-E-I-O-U. For some reason it brings it all out to the front and you can understand it. She
02:06 is a legend. She is a queen and we're all like well how do we fight and compete against Reba?
02:14 This is really difficult because Reba is the queen so it's hard to fight against her but I'm
02:19 gonna fight her right now. It's super intimidating going head-to-head with Reba because she's so
02:25 experienced and has such a legacy. She's an icon. You know I've had two number one country
02:33 on country radio. I've had more than two.
02:36 Next. Because we're in a competition it's really interesting to watch and see who she turns for.
02:46 It's not just country, she's turning for just anyone that she has a connection to.
02:51 Who did you grow up listening to? I grew up listening to you Miss Reba.
02:54 I'm blown away by the talent that is on season 24. I know how much work that is. I did Annie
03:04 Get Your Gun and so glad that I got to experience that performance. I'm glad I got to sing for you.
03:12 I'm definitely glad to be a coach. I've been in this business going on 50 years
03:18 and so hopefully I'll be able to give some of the pointers that people were sweet enough
03:23 to give me and also the things that I've learned on my own the hard way. Now in my career I've had
03:29 a lot of mentors so I am very full aware of what you want to hear, what you need to hear,
03:34 and I would love to be your coach and help you out to win this competition.
03:41 When people ask me what are you looking for? Songs that touch my heart because when you listen
03:46 to a song on the radio you can't see them. There's comfort food and there's comfort music.
03:52 What you sang today was comfort music. I felt a really peaceful feeling when you were singing
03:59 and so my strategy for The Voice is I want people on my team that I want to work with because they
04:05 touch my heart and soul. I was very fortunate to get to sing at Madison Square Garden in New York
04:11 City. My grandpa and my daddy had both performed there open so to be able to go back as a third
04:17 generation to sing there I was all choked up and emotional and my first four songs I would have
04:26 been thrilled to death if I hit one note and this is a big deal. I totally get you being a little
04:32 nervous. I was so wrapped up in the emotion of what you were giving us so congratulations on
04:39 that and welcome to The Voice. You did a heck of a job. I'd love to be your coach.
04:44 They keep calling me the queen.
04:47 As they should.
