00:10 Street Fighter 6 is finally here, almost seven years since release of the last game.
00:15 And while we've got a while to wait before it releases next year,
00:19 there's a lot of new details to work through.
00:21 Have you seen the world tour mode? Or the new characters?
00:25 We've got story details, multiplayer stuff, and loads more to talk about.
00:28 So let's see what the series is doing with its debut on new gen consoles.
00:32 The only official release date for Street Fighter 6 so far is 2023.
00:38 However, we have theories based on what Capcom has done before.
00:42 In years gone by, Street Fighter 4 and 5 both released in February.
00:46 Capcom also tends to like a double whammy of big hitter releases at the start of the year.
00:51 And with Resident Evil 4 Remake scheduled for March, it does suggest that Street Fighter 6
00:56 could be kicking its way out in February once again.
00:58 Street Fighter 5 was a firm Sony console exclusive, to the upset of fans.
01:05 Well, on any other platform at least.
01:07 However, this time around, Capcom has confirmed that
01:09 Street Fighter 6 will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
01:13 Don't worry, Street Fighter 6 cross-play is happening.
01:18 This is, of course, a big deal to ensure a decent-sized and consistent player base.
01:23 So that's good news all round, and should make it a lot easier to find an online opponent.
01:27 However, what with loading differences between all the different platforms,
01:31 and differences in netcode and connection stability,
01:33 it remains to be seen whether it's possible to filter by system.
01:36 The good news is that Street Fighter will have rollback netcode.
01:42 This is something that's crucial to a fighting game, to make sure the online experience is
01:46 responsive and with minimal latency, whatever region your opponent is fighting from.
01:50 It's almost a mandatory feature in 2022, and some recent fighting games have seen their
01:55 competitive scene and community drop off very quickly, simply because they weren't using it.
02:00 So it's good to see it as a priority for this installment.
02:03 Obviously, at this point, we don't know for certain what characters are in Street Fighter,
02:11 Fjord Ryu, Luke, Chun-Li, and Guile, and two newcomers, Jamie and Kimberly.
02:16 However, if a leaked roster is to be believed, there's a total of 22 characters on the way.
02:21 Whether they are part of the initial launch lineup is another question, however.
02:24 Some might be intended for later DLC.
02:27 So, ignoring the confirmed characters we've already mentioned, the Street Fighter 6 leaked
02:31 roster currently includes the following returning characters that you can see on your screen.
02:35 Then, joining Jamie and Kimberly on the new character front, there's also the following.
02:40 But, as we said, this is a leak, so let's take it all with a pinch of salt.
02:45 After nearly 25 years, the Street Fighter storyline has finally progressed past the
02:51 events of 1999's Street Fighter 3, Third Strike.
02:54 This means a lot of things, like Noem Bison, and characters like Guile and Chun-Li
02:58 no longer have their main motivations for fighting.
03:01 So expect some new takes on classic characters.
03:03 It's also highly likely we'll see a lot of the Street Fighter 3 roster of misfits
03:07 eventually returning, with hints at characters like Hugo in the reveal trailer.
03:13 Capcom has confirmed there are three separate Street Fighter 6 game modes.
03:17 First up is the Fighting Ground, which appears to be all traditional stuff where you can play
03:21 local multiplayer and fight AI opponents.
03:24 Capcom has stated that all of the modes found in Street Fighter 5 can now be found in the
03:28 Fighting Ground, so expect the arcade ladders, survival modes, and training modes in here too.
03:33 Then there's Battle Hub.
03:35 We've only seen one short clip, but it appears to be a kind of online lobby where you can
03:39 explore with a custom avatar, sitting down at arcade machines, and challenging other
03:43 players to matches.
03:44 If this is the case, it'll be similar to the lobbies found in games like Arc System
03:48 Works, most famous for games like Guilty Gear.
03:50 There's a few other things that catch the eye though, like classic Capcom fighting
03:54 games on some of the cabinets.
03:56 Can they be played we wonder?
03:58 And finally there's the big one, World Tour Mode, which appears to be an open world hub
04:02 based on Metro City, the setting for the arcade classic Final Fight.
04:06 Here you can explore and meet characters from Street Fighter, punch bins, and pick fights
04:11 with the inhabitants.
04:12 Again, little is known about this mode right now, but it is described by Capcom as an immersive
04:17 single player mode, and looks quite unlike anything from previous Street Fighter titles.
04:22 And unlike the Battle Hub, it also appears to feature a custom character.
04:26 So, what are you most excited about for Street Fighter 6, and who is your main?
