00:00 In the fall of 2019 we started the reconstruction of two railway stations in Lower Silesia.
00:07 These were the stations in Smolc and Kontak Wrocławskie.
00:09 These were complex investments based on complex reconstruction of the stations.
00:14 We improved their aesthetics, increased the comfort of the passengers,
00:17 we adapted both stations to the needs of people with disabilities,
00:20 but we also used a number of pro-ecological solutions.
00:24 A lot has changed at the station.
00:27 The renovations were made to the station in Kontak Wrocławskie, which was built in 1920.
00:32 We restored the original station in bright colours, with a dark brown countertop.
00:38 We also rebuilt the interior of the station,
00:40 in cooperation with the National Monument Conservation Centre,
00:42 so that it was comfortable, but on the other hand,
00:44 to preserve some historical elements.
00:47 As for the Smolc station, it is even older,
00:51 from the first half of the 19th century.
00:54 We restored the old station's appearance,
00:58 it is a brick station,
01:00 we also replaced the window and door sill,
01:02 and we restored the original green colour.
01:06 It is one of the two historical stations,
01:08 which, in fact, underwent the change
01:12 that we ended in January 2021.
01:16 Both stations have quite an interesting space organisation,
01:19 because apart from the railway function,
01:22 which is the service of passengers,
01:24 the waiting room, the hall,
01:26 they have spaces dedicated to the local government.
01:29 Here we cooperated with the local government,
01:31 which is the Polish Communist Party,
01:32 which modernised the station complex,
01:34 while the local government rented some of the space
01:36 for functions typical for the local government.
01:39 At the Kontak Wrocławskie station,
01:41 we have two departments of the Konty Wrocławskie municipality,
01:45 the Konty Wrocławskie city,
01:46 one is the residential department,
01:47 the other deals with education.
01:49 In Smolka, the Municipal Centre for Culture and Sport,
01:54 the Residential Support Centre,
01:56 and the small police station are operating.
01:58 So, in fact, today, the stations that we have modernised
02:01 combine the railway function,
02:03 which is the infrastructure,
02:04 the nominal one related to the service of passengers,
02:06 but they are also a base for the residents
02:09 and have become more important for the residents.
