00:00 A few of the lads that are here at the club,
00:01 obviously Anthony Redfern being the main one,
00:04 had a bit to do with him when I was here last, back in '21.
00:07 Got in touch with me sort of midway through the year.
00:12 Obviously, unfortunately, the club was sort of
00:15 in a spot where they were in a bit of a bother,
00:17 more so with personnel.
00:18 I know it was sort of a tough decision,
00:21 especially halfway through the year,
00:22 we were sitting pretty good with Parks,
00:24 and I actually really enjoyed my time at Parks.
00:28 They're a really well-run club,
00:30 from top to bottom, I admire them.
00:31 Reece Draper's already signed,
00:32 he's come back from Newcastle.
00:33 I think he's a massive addition.
00:35 You know, guys similar, Ethan Moraine,
00:38 and yeah, a few other guys who were around in 2021
00:40 when I was here,
00:41 that either haven't played this year or have gone elsewhere,
00:46 to get those guys back around first,
00:48 and then once we get the sort of the local contingent
00:51 sort of signing up and seeing where we're at,
00:52 and then they'll go elsewhere
00:53 outside of the Group 10/11 area.
00:55 One thing that I've found in country footy
00:57 for my short time that I've been out here is,
00:59 A, you've got to be fit, you've got to have depth.
01:00 You know, if you've got a good regis team,
01:02 you're generally going to have a pretty good first grade team.
01:04 So you want, 'cause you're going to need,
01:05 you're going to have to rely on them at some stage
01:07 throughout the year with injuries and commitments,
01:09 you also have work and family, those kind of things.
01:11 So you're going to need,
01:13 you're going to need to have those guys in regis
01:15 understand what it's like to be a first grade,
01:16 they'd be good enough when they're called up
01:18 to fill in those spots as well.
01:19 If you can get a culture of a group of lads
01:21 that enjoy being around each other,
01:23 I think that shows on the footy field.
01:24 And I mean, even this year with Sims,
01:26 although it was tough,
01:28 I think it showed that they never gave up.
01:30 So I think the culture's already there.
01:31 It's not a matter about changing that,
01:33 it's about just bringing in that depth
01:35 and the guys that are there and improving on it.
01:38 So there's competition, whereas,
01:40 similar to when I was at Carra last year,
01:42 when you don't have depth,
01:45 there's nothing you can really do.
01:47 You sort of, you can't train,
01:49 you can't train as hard
01:50 because you're trying to keep guys there and healthy and fit.
01:53 So I think it's just a matter of,
01:54 work on what Ethan had this year
01:56 and then just improving on that
01:57 with a bit of depth behind it.
01:58 So we can really make selection obviously a bit harder.
