01:23 But an hour before the scheduled meeting, Brian received word that Sue was unable to attend, so he asked his colleague Sophie to join the Prince in the photo session instead.
01:33 After the pictures were taken, Sophie gave the Prince her phone number in case there were any issues with the challenge or if Brian couldn't be reached.
01:42 Prince Edward, however, had other plans and asked her to his residence at Buckingham Palace for dinner and a real tennis match.
01:50 On January 6, 1999, the couple made their engagement announcement.
01:56 The Palace stated that the couple would adopt the titles of Earl and Countess of Wessex before to their nuptials.
