00:00:00 Ezekiel Elliott, wasn't he going like 110 miles per hour a couple years ago?
00:00:03 - Yeah.
00:00:04 - Got a speeding problem?
00:00:05 - Thanks, boy.
00:00:06 - Got a speeding problem, Hank?
00:00:07 - Comeback Player of the Year.
00:00:08 - Oh, Comeback Player of the Year.
00:00:10 Okay.
00:00:11 - And the MVP.
00:00:12 - MVP?
00:00:13 - Maybe.
00:00:14 - I guess you could say maybe in front of anything.

00:00:23 football is back, week zero coming up on Saturday.

00:02:13 Body Armor is delicious.
00:02:15 Go right now to the Body Armor store or on Amazon and get yours today.
00:02:19 Okay, let's go.
00:02:38 Welcome to part of my take.
00:02:40 Today is Friday, August 25th, and Shohei Otani is hurt again.
00:02:46 Yeah, it's a tough day.
00:02:48 It sucks.
00:02:49 You know what?
00:02:50 I was about to say tough day for Angels fans, tough day for baseball, for the sport, for
00:02:53 the game.
00:02:54 I feel bad for the game.
00:02:55 I actually feel worse for Shohei Otani.
00:02:58 Yeah, he's probably missing out on a few million dollars.
00:03:02 And there's word, there's the idea that maybe he will stop pitching because this is his
00:03:07 second injury.
00:03:09 He had Tommy John in 2018.
00:03:10 Now is UCL.
00:03:14 That would suck.
00:03:15 That would suck a lot.
00:03:16 And that would cost him a lot of money.
00:03:17 It would cost him a ton.
00:03:18 He was set to make a shit fuckload of money in free agency.
00:03:21 Now he's just going to make a fuckload of money.
00:03:23 Probably.
00:03:24 It would be very funny, though, if the Mets signed him and then he just pulled a gram
00:03:29 and just like every year in June had to get shut down.
00:03:32 Yes.
00:03:33 But as a batter, he can still go out there and play.
00:03:35 In fact, he asked to play in today's game.
00:03:38 Like the second they told him he had an elbow injury, he's like, I can still bat, though.
00:03:42 Yeah.
00:03:43 They're like, no, just please take it easy on yourself.
00:03:45 Chill out for a little bit.
00:03:46 I have an idea.
00:03:47 This guy can do everything.
00:03:49 Why doesn't he just try to pitch left handed?
00:03:51 I bet you Shohei could pitch left handed.
00:03:54 I don't I don't disagree.
00:03:56 I also have another idea.
00:03:57 Why doesn't Shohei Otani become the best closer in the game?
00:04:00 So I yes, Smoltz.
00:04:02 I was thinking about that.
00:04:03 I went up, looked up Smoltz history.
00:04:05 He was a great pitcher for the Braves, moved into the closing role and then dominated for
00:04:10 a few years, then came back and started.
00:04:12 He would be a lights out closer.
00:04:13 A lot of closers and relief pitchers are guys who just couldn't start.
00:04:17 Yeah.
00:04:18 So and I'm not obviously sure Otani can start, but he can strike guys out.
00:04:22 Imagine if he was just like deaching every day and then closing games.
00:04:27 Yeah, that would rule.
00:04:29 Did you guys did you guys hear about Ben Verlander?
00:04:32 No.
00:04:33 Yeah.
00:04:34 He heard about Shohei Otani, thought he would puke.
00:04:37 So that makes me want to puke.
00:04:39 Yeah.
00:04:40 He said he said, oh, my God, Shohei Otani has a torn UCL.
00:04:43 I'm going to throw up.
00:04:45 Yeah.
00:04:46 And then he said.
00:04:48 Let's see.
00:04:49 He also followed up with no for those asking, I am not OK.
00:04:53 OK, so he's really going through it.
00:04:56 He's the one who really I feel worst for.
00:05:00 He also posted a picture of Shohei standing on second base in the ninth inning last night.
00:05:04 This picture is so much sadder now that we know that Shohei Otani knew he tore his UCLA
00:05:09 at this point.
00:05:10 Yeah.
00:05:11 Apparently the Angels might share some of the blame in this because he's been dealing with
00:05:13 some some like right hand issues.
00:05:16 Oh, you're saying the Angels aren't a well run organization.
00:05:18 Well, at least they still have Mike Trout and he's healthy.
00:05:20 But Otani has apparently I did a deep dive on this.
00:05:24 There are some Redditors out there that have posted that Otani for the last like month
00:05:27 or so has been reaching across his body to give high fives with his left hand, as opposed
00:05:33 to his right hand.
00:05:34 And people are like, I hope he's OK.
00:05:36 Turns out he's not OK.
00:05:39 The UCL, it sounds like sounds like another Tommy John in his future.
00:05:42 And sometimes guys come back throwing harder from Tommy John.
00:05:46 But then I don't know what happens if you have two Tommy Johns.
00:05:48 Yeah.
00:05:49 Or is it Tommy's John?
00:05:50 I think it's Tony's.
00:05:51 I think it gets you even stronger.
00:05:52 Yeah.
00:05:53 Henry Rone Gardner.
00:05:54 I might just get preemptive Tommy John.
00:05:55 Yeah, it's smart.
00:05:57 Also we heard from our good friend Karabas, who was at the Barstool Awards last night.
00:06:01 He said genuinely nauseous over the show.
00:06:04 Hey, Otani.
00:06:05 But he's not.
00:06:06 He didn't puke.
00:06:07 He just felt like he just was genuinely nauseous.
00:06:08 Is he OK?
00:06:09 Now, I'm we are all we've definitely tweeted like this after an injury.
00:06:14 But when it's something that like we're all bummed about, we love watching show Tony play.
00:06:19 He's having one of the best seasons ever.
00:06:21 But yeah, I didn't get nauseous or want to puke after this one.
00:06:25 Personally, I did.
00:06:26 But that was just because I ate like 20 chicken wings last night.
00:06:30 Yeah, I think it was unrelated.
00:06:31 Yeah, but we could we could we could assign that show.
00:06:34 Yeah.
00:06:35 I wanted to puke when I found out.
00:06:37 That's actually not a lie to say I felt like puking when I heard the show.
00:06:40 Hey, Otani news had nothing to do with the nine course lights and 20 buffalo wings.
00:06:44 I actually want to puke right now.
00:06:46 And that has nothing to do with the fact that we're in a room that's like 300 degrees.
00:06:50 So maybe that's also show.
00:06:52 Maybe we all just haven't found our inner Ben Verlander, Jared Krabus, and really felt
00:06:57 where we want, like where this puke is coming from.
00:06:59 It's show.
00:07:00 I wanted to puke earlier when I heard Hank Yon.
00:07:03 Yeah.
00:07:04 And also show her.
00:07:05 Oh, man, we were driving up to Boston from New York on Tuesday and Brandon Walker heard
00:07:09 his first Hank Yon.
00:07:10 He whipped his head around so hard.
00:07:12 Yeah.
00:07:13 Front seat.
00:07:14 It was like he had like seen a UFO.
00:07:16 I didn't say anything.
00:07:17 I saw his head.
00:07:18 He just goes.
00:07:19 Yeah.
00:07:20 I was like, oh, I do that every time I hear it.
00:07:22 It never loses its luster for me.
00:07:24 It's still genuinely shocking that that noise comes out of that man's mouth.
00:07:27 Yes.
00:07:28 All right.
00:07:29 So where does show hey go?
00:07:30 Mets goes to the Mets and then does not live up to the contract.
00:07:35 OK.
00:07:36 I feel like you might just stay at the Angels.
00:07:37 Las Vegas.
00:07:38 Although if they fucked him up, if they fucked his injury up, maybe it's just Dodgers.
00:07:42 He doesn't have to move Vegas.
00:07:44 Vegas.
00:07:45 Oh, you're John Fisher guy.
00:07:46 Fuck you.
00:07:47 You're a scumbag, too.
00:07:48 What?
00:07:49 What?
00:07:50 I said it.
00:07:51 I said John Fisher would pay show.
00:07:52 Hey, Tony.
00:07:53 You know, he did say that once they get a new stadium, he's going to start spending.
00:07:57 Really good.
00:07:58 We'll see.
00:07:59 That's going to be sticker shock.
00:08:00 That's something really that's such a future.
00:08:01 You promise like, man, once once March Madness is over, I'm going on such a diet.
00:08:06 I have a great body for the summertime.
00:08:08 No, he's he's not going to be able to write those big checks.
00:08:10 It's not in his DNA.
00:08:11 This football season.
00:08:12 I'm going to be diligent about my gambling and I'm going to be I'm going to win.
00:08:16 Yeah.
00:08:17 Less games.
00:08:18 I'm going to do I'm going to sprinkle in some unders this year.
00:08:19 And then I look on week zero.
00:08:21 I have every single game and and half of them aren't even real game.
00:08:25 It is week zero.
00:08:26 It is.
00:08:27 We made it.
00:08:28 We made it.
00:08:29 I'm excited to hopefully see how green the grass is in Ireland for the Notre Dame game.
00:08:33 That's all I'm looking forward to in that game.
00:08:35 Yes.
00:08:36 Yes.
00:08:37 That's I'm I'm very excited for weeks.
00:08:38 You're just live football.
00:08:39 So, yeah, shout out to show.
00:08:41 Hey, you're going to still make a lot of money, but not as much.
00:08:44 And shout out anyone who's dealing with nausea, diarrhea, upset stomach, premature ejaculation,
00:08:53 premature ejaculation, all these things that might be related to show a Otani's injury
00:08:58 in some form.
00:08:59 Hank, what does that look for?
00:09:00 I mean, it was just what he said that a non-breaking moves, breaking moves, breaking moves, breaking
00:09:07 moves, breaking moves.
00:09:10 Isaiah Simmons is being traded from the Cardinals to the Giants for a seventh round pick.
00:09:14 Oh, that shifts the entire balance of power in the NFC.
00:09:19 Damn Giants loading up.
00:09:21 Giants super team.
00:09:22 Super team.
00:09:23 Watch out.
00:09:24 Watch out.
00:09:25 Isaiah Simmons.
00:09:26 Holy shit.
00:09:27 Aaron Rodgers made one of his wide receivers retire.
00:09:30 Yeah, that's interesting.
00:09:31 That was Corey Davis, Western Michigan.
00:09:34 Great Mac.
00:09:35 Great.
00:09:36 Yeah.
00:09:37 We saw him in the Mac championship game that one time.
00:09:38 Yep.
00:09:39 He what he's just stepping away from football or officially retired.
00:09:41 He said stepping away from the game.
00:09:42 So who knows what that means?
00:09:44 Well, it probably means you can't fire me.
00:09:46 I quit because you might not have made the roster.
00:09:49 I feel like you don't step away if you're going to make the roster, right?
00:09:52 You don't go through camp.
00:09:53 Yeah.
00:09:54 You're not trying to play.
00:09:55 Right.
00:09:56 But then the minute you see like, oh, I might not, I might get cut here.
00:10:00 Right.
00:10:01 So he told Robert Salah that he was going to step away and leave camp for a couple of
00:10:07 days.
00:10:08 Salah said he's dealing with personal issues and then he dropped out on Instagram that
00:10:12 he was walking away from the game.
00:10:14 So he's saying that he could still come back.
00:10:16 He's not closing the door.
00:10:17 I don't think.
00:10:18 But he didn't get cut.
00:10:19 He did not get cut.
00:10:20 Not get cut.
00:10:21 Print it.
00:10:22 Write it.
00:10:23 He did not get cut.
00:10:24 Did not get cut.
00:10:25 If he did get cut, the Jets would save $10 million.
00:10:26 Oh, that's so he was definitely going to get cut.
00:10:30 It was a possibility he's been training for.
00:10:32 They were going to have to restructure his contract.
00:10:34 Yeah.
00:10:35 I mean, he's very good.
00:10:36 But I mean, that's a great move by him.
00:10:38 Is he was he very good?
00:10:40 I liked him.
00:10:41 Zach Wilson.
00:10:42 He's got injuries.
00:10:43 So very seems like the wrong.
00:10:45 He was he was not very good for the Jets.
00:10:47 He was he was a decent threat.
00:10:49 Yeah, I'll call him a decent threat.
00:10:51 He was a beast in the Mac.
00:10:52 So do you hate him?
00:10:53 He was a first round pick.
00:10:54 Yeah, I think he went like still overall.
00:10:56 I know some of you guys.
00:10:58 But knowing that it seems like he might have been on the bubble.
00:11:01 And again, that's a great move by him.
00:11:03 Like, I never got cut.
00:11:06 Do you think he was going to get cut?
00:11:08 I don't think so.
00:11:09 Oh, even the 10 million.
00:11:11 What was the wide receiver?
00:11:13 What on the depth chart?
00:11:15 I believe three.
00:11:16 Oh, so maybe not.
00:11:18 Yeah.
00:11:19 OK, it's just.
00:11:20 Yeah, it's right now.
00:11:21 They got Randall Cobb, 30 year old, 32 year old Randall Cobb just getting into his prime.
00:11:26 Speaking of roster moves, maybe the saddest tweet ever was the 49ers alerting everyone
00:11:33 that Sam Donald named QB to.
00:11:35 Yeah, I don't remember the last time that's happened.
00:11:37 Well, where they just they're like big announcement QB to Sam.
00:11:42 It's more about what they didn't say with that.
00:11:43 Right.
00:11:44 That who that's who the QB three is going to be.
00:11:46 Trey, Trey Lance.
00:11:47 So Trey Lance, Trey Lance should step away.
00:11:49 Trey, Trey Lance should step away and then try to find a way to wind up in Kansas City
00:11:55 and play for Andy Reid and then become great.
00:11:57 It's funny because if he was on any other team, we'd be like, man, imagine Trey Lance
00:12:01 and Cal Shanahan system.
00:12:02 Yeah, it'd be pretty sweet.
00:12:03 Yeah, we saw it.
00:12:05 And he had he had like a couple of moments where he looked competent.
00:12:07 But yeah, it's it's it is really good for John Lynch that he ended up striking gold
00:12:12 with Brock Pardy because giving up three first round picks to trade up to get Trey Lance
00:12:17 would not look good for him.
00:12:19 Trey Lance.
00:12:20 Yeah, I mean, we'll see what the rest of his career looks like.
00:12:23 But right now he's in pretty good conversation for bus situation because that was a big trade.
00:12:30 And who else went in that draft?
00:12:32 That was Justin Fields, right?
00:12:33 Justin Fields, Mac Jones, Mac Jones, Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence went first.
00:12:39 Zach Wilson already was taken.
00:12:41 Wow.
00:12:42 This is like the the draft with Marino and Elway and all those.
00:12:47 Yeah, I mean, the Jets can always say at least we didn't take Trey Lance.
00:12:51 Yeah, at least we didn't take Trey Lance.
00:12:52 Yeah, that's that's a tough one to trade up and take take Trey Lance at three.
00:12:58 So Trey Lance, he played what, 16 games in college.
00:13:02 He had that one season where he was just lights out, didn't throw an interception, I don't
00:13:06 think.
00:13:07 And then covid year he played one game.
00:13:08 Yeah.
00:13:09 So ever since ever since he got beaten up by JMU in the national championship game,
00:13:13 Trey Lance has not been the same quarterback.
00:13:15 Yeah, he might have won that game, but we also knocked the shit out of him.
00:13:18 He started 17 games total in college, 16, and then the one covid year game.
00:13:23 Not a big sample size.
00:13:24 No, not a huge sample size, but a reclamation.
00:13:26 I. Everyone knows this.
00:13:28 If you are drafted high, I just assume that you're still good.
00:13:32 The draft draft guys couldn't be that wrong.
00:13:34 Yeah.
00:13:35 Different system.
00:13:36 He'll be great.
00:13:37 We just we just haven't seen enough yet.
00:13:38 Right.
00:13:39 Exactly.
00:13:40 So give him some time.
00:13:41 I will never give up on a top ten draft pick.
00:13:43 Nor should you.
00:13:44 Unless it was Corey Davis.
00:13:46 Was he top ten?
00:13:47 I think so.
00:13:48 I think he's number five overall.
00:13:49 Yeah.
00:13:50 We got Jonathan Taylor, the Jonathan Taylor sweepstakes.
00:13:53 OK, rumored that the birds are interested in.
00:13:56 Doc, I mean, if the Eagles get Jonathan Taylor on top of everything that they have already.
00:14:01 Easy Super Bowl.
00:14:02 Yeah.
00:14:03 Easy.
00:14:04 Not a doubt in my mind.
00:14:05 I'm running game.
00:14:06 Who's your running backs right now?
00:14:07 Deandre Swift.
00:14:08 So it would be Scott and Boston.
00:14:11 Scott, it would be Taylor's penny in their backfield.
00:14:14 That will be a good game.
00:14:15 Well, wait, say it all again.
00:14:17 Shot penny shot penny Kenny Gainwell.
00:14:20 Kenny Gainwell.
00:14:21 I like Gainwell.
00:14:22 Yeah, I like Gainwell.
00:14:23 He's good.
00:14:24 I like our running running back room.
00:14:25 I don't think I think this is all rumors.
00:14:26 I don't think we're going to.
00:14:27 Would you say that if they get Jonathan Taylor dream team?
00:14:31 No super team, super super dream team.
00:14:33 No, no, that's just that's just vibes this year.
00:14:35 Oh, wow.
00:14:37 I did watch hard knocks and God damn it.
00:14:39 I am.
00:14:40 I'm so in on the Jets.
00:14:42 I'm so in on them.
00:14:43 Go watch the ghost video.
00:14:44 It's out or it's out now on PM TV.
00:14:46 Me go sunning at Jerry's house.
00:14:48 I placed ten thousand dollars on the Jets to win the Super Bowl because the ghost told
00:14:52 me to.
00:14:53 I mean, the hard knocks shouldn't they shouldn't have final cut.
00:14:55 The team shouldn't have final cuts.
00:14:57 Bullshit.
00:14:58 It's too it's too.
00:14:59 It's just a suck fest.
00:15:00 It is a suck.
00:15:01 That's what I'm saying.
00:15:02 Like they've fully suckered me in now.
00:15:03 I'm fully believing in the Jets because of hard night.
00:15:05 And there's well, they're showing you exactly what you want to see.
00:15:07 Yeah.
00:15:08 Oh, I know that I'm fully aware when I'm watching it.
00:15:10 Like this is a press release in New York.
00:15:13 Jets.
00:15:14 I'm like these receivers are going to have monster years minus Corey Davis minus Corey
00:15:17 Davis.
00:15:18 Well, more to go around for everybody else.
00:15:19 That's true.
00:15:20 That's true.
00:15:21 All right.
00:15:22 So what's going on?
00:15:23 Garrett Wilson.
00:15:24 Two thousand yards this year.
00:15:26 Yeah.
00:15:27 Easy.
00:15:28 Two thousand.
00:15:29 Spit chiclets guys interviewed to go.
00:15:30 Oh, yeah.
00:15:31 Let's hear stories.
00:15:32 They're going to talk.
00:15:33 Well, actually, why don't you interview us as we're to be to go.
00:15:37 So this took a rask on the show.
00:15:38 We'll be to go.
00:15:40 Any pasta stories.
00:15:41 I like.
00:15:42 Yeah.
00:15:43 I was going to say like the vodka, a la vodka.
00:15:47 Tell me about the 2011 cup parties.
00:15:49 Oh, it was it was a movie.
00:15:51 Dude, Marci was crazy.
00:15:52 It was a fucking movie.
00:15:54 Cue the duck boats, baby.
00:15:55 Did you see that tab we had?
00:15:57 It's nuts.
00:15:59 Early days of Sagan.
00:16:00 I mean, yeah, I mean, I'd never seen a guy like that.
00:16:05 I've seen a lot of guys.
00:16:06 I'll tell you what.
00:16:07 One word beauty.
00:16:11 Shitting himself in playoffs.
00:16:12 I don't know.
00:16:13 That happens.
00:16:14 Yeah.
00:16:15 Listen, if you're a goalie, sometimes the best defense you can have is just shit yourself
00:16:18 and no one wants to go near you.
00:16:19 I ate too much pasta that day.
00:16:21 Just Olympics.
00:16:22 Olympics are cool.
00:16:23 I get to represent your country.
00:16:24 Yeah.
00:16:25 Kind of a waste of money.
00:16:26 Although if you smoke weed, you should not be throwing the javelin.
00:16:29 It could be very dangerous.
00:16:31 Yeah.
00:16:32 All right.
00:16:33 Sorry, Chickens fans, but yeah, I guess.
00:16:35 So we felt like we found this index card that has their questions that they ask them.
00:16:39 Whose questions do you think these are?
00:16:41 It's got to be biz.
00:16:42 I think it's biz.
00:16:43 It looks like business handwriting.
00:16:44 Yeah, it's got to be biz.
00:16:45 And then there's a bunch of stuff.
00:16:46 Because I don't think and I say that because I don't think wit does questions.
00:16:49 Yeah, he just talks.
00:16:50 I think because he can just go off the dome.
00:16:53 Might be.
00:16:54 All right.
00:16:55 No.
00:16:56 OK.
00:16:57 I don't think we'd have like specific.
00:16:58 Yeah, he would be.
00:16:59 I would not be like early days of Sagan.
00:17:00 He would be like, tell me about the fucking.
00:17:02 Yeah.
00:17:03 Series against the Maple Leafs.
00:17:04 You remember when the stones played at the garden?
00:17:08 We love the fucking chiclets.
00:17:09 Guys, this one just say a lot.
00:17:10 Got a great biz story coming later.
00:17:12 Oh, fuck.
00:17:13 Yes.
00:17:14 Yeah.
00:17:15 I remember the 20th anniversary show was Wednesday night.
00:17:19 It was wild to see everyone in the room.
00:17:21 The entire basically all of our soul was there.
00:17:25 It was crazy to see everyone there.
00:17:28 Crazy to see like people get presented awards for funny moments.
00:17:31 Basically an entire trip down memory lane.
00:17:33 I cried a couple of times, which some people are saying is pussy.
00:17:37 I say that's football guy.
00:17:38 I just love my guys.
00:17:39 I love my guys in the locker room.
00:17:41 Yeah, I've been much.
00:17:42 I've been watching the Frank the Tank video where he tells people not to give up on their
00:17:45 dreams.
00:17:46 Yeah.
00:17:47 It makes me almost cry every time I watch it.
00:17:50 It is legitimately an inspirational moment.
00:17:53 Yes, it was right here.
00:17:54 Yeah.
00:17:55 Put that in.
00:17:56 That was.
00:17:57 Yeah.
00:17:58 Put that in.
00:17:59 I work as a court clerk.
00:18:00 I settled as a court clerk.
00:18:01 I studied broadcasting in college and it took.
00:18:02 I never gave up.
00:18:03 And that's the lesson here.
00:18:04 Never give up your dream.
00:18:05 And now I am working my dream job here at Boston.
00:18:06 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:07 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:08 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:09 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:10 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:11 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:12 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:13 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:14 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:15 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:16 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:17 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:18 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:19 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:20 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:21 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:22 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:23 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:24 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:25 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:26 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:27 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:28 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:29 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:30 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:31 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:32 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:33 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:34 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:35 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:36 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:37 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:38 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:39 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:40 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:41 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:42 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:43 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:44 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:45 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:46 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:47 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:48 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:49 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:50 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:51 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:52 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:53 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:54 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:55 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:56 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:57 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:58 I'm not going to give up.
00:18:59 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:00 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:01 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:02 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:03 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:04 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:05 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:06 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:07 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:08 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:09 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:10 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:11 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:12 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:13 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:14 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:15 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:16 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:17 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:18 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:19 I'm not going to give up.
00:19:20 I took the mic, crowd control on point, was gesturing violently, telling people, "I almost
00:19:27 gave up on my dream, but I didn't.
00:19:29 Never give up your dream."
00:19:31 I'm honestly about to cry just thinking about it.
00:19:33 It was so good.
00:19:34 I'd follow him to the depths of hell.
00:19:36 Yeah.
00:19:37 I also, I got to see if there's an all 22 angle because White Sox Dave almost died walking
00:19:42 upstairs and it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
00:19:45 He told me after.
00:19:46 There was a video that went around last night.
00:19:47 Yeah.
00:19:48 He said he won the award for best TV performance, was it?
00:19:54 Yeah.
00:19:55 For the time that he battled gum on Chicago television.
00:20:01 He said to me after he knew he was going to win the award and he started telling himself
00:20:05 before the winner was announced, "Don't trip on the stairs.
00:20:09 Don't trip on the stairs.
00:20:10 Don't trip on the stairs."
00:20:11 Then he immediately tripped on the stairs.
00:20:13 Hard.
00:20:14 Yeah.
00:20:15 I don't know.
00:20:16 I think it's a really sad view of Frank giving that speech because after it was over, there's
00:20:20 really two ways that you can go on that stage.
00:20:22 One is back down the stairs that you took to get up.
00:20:25 The other is the side stage which people were coming in to present awards, like that area.
00:20:30 Frank just started doing a circle.
00:20:32 I was like, "Here, Frank, let's go this way."
00:20:34 I started pointing to the side of the stage.
00:20:36 Then he kept going in circles.
00:20:37 I was like, "No, Frank, this way."
00:20:38 Then he just walked away onto the other side of the stage and walked off that way.
00:20:43 Frank makes his own rules.
00:20:44 Yeah, he does.
00:20:45 I tried to give Frank a hug.
00:20:46 I'm not having it.
00:20:47 No.
00:20:48 He did the half shoulder thing where it's like, "This is all you're getting, buddy."
00:20:52 For people that say that Frank is just all doom and gloom and he doesn't really love
00:20:55 the Mets, he was decked head to toe in Met shit last night as his formal wear.
00:21:00 Yes.
00:21:01 Yes.
00:21:02 There was a lot of great moments.
00:21:04 The guy didn't die.
00:21:06 Yeah, there was a guy who we almost had a Tamar Hamlin situation where we had to stop
00:21:10 the show.
00:21:11 I saw him later.
00:21:12 He looked like he was cloned.
00:21:13 What happened is he was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:14 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:15 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:16 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:17 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:18 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.

00:21:25 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:26 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:27 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:28 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:29 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:30 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:31 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:32 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:21:58 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:22:05 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.

00:22:22 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:22:25 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:22:28 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:22:31 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:22:34 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.

00:23:10 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:23:13 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:23:16 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.

00:26:46 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:26:49 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:26:52 He was just drunk and fell down the stage.
00:26:55 If you take the exact same job, there's a common denominator.
00:26:58 You just didn't like the other guy.
00:27:00 If Channing Sharpe had gone into coaching, he'd be like,
00:27:03 "Oh, he just was done with TV." No, no. He's not done with TV.
00:27:06 He just didn't like Skip Bayless.
00:27:08 Two very horny guys debating. That's what we know.
00:27:11 Steven A. Smith's got to chill out, too. He's on my guy Lonzo Ball a little too hard.
00:27:15 He was saying he can't stand up or sit down,
00:27:18 and Lonzo Ball posted an Instagram video of him standing up and sitting down.
00:27:22 He's great at standing up. He really does.
00:27:25 Why don't you keep Lonzo Ball, my point guard,
00:27:29 who probably won't ever get to see play again, out of your mouth?
00:27:34 There was also a great Jerry Jones moment the other day.
00:27:37 I think it was this morning or last night.
00:27:39 Sam Williams on the Cowboys got arrested for a second time for speeding.
00:27:43 He got arrested last year.
00:27:45 Jerry goes, "This sounds a little hollow, but he is maturing."
00:27:48 What was he going? 66 miles per hour?
00:27:51 That's 32 miles per hour less this year.
00:27:53 98 last year to 66 miles per hour today.
00:27:56 66 is not that bad.
00:27:58 What was it in, though? A 25-mile-an-hour school zone?
00:28:00 I didn't look it up.
00:28:02 I'm guessing that he was going 66 in a 40.
00:28:07 Yeah. Or 35, maybe.
00:28:10 Because in Texas, there's a bunch of highways that are 70, 75.
00:28:14 It definitely wasn't on a highway.
00:28:16 What if he got pulled over for going too slow? They can do that.
00:28:19 Remember Ezekiel Elliott?
00:28:21 Wasn't he going 110 miles per hour a couple of years ago?
00:28:24 He's got a speeding problem?
00:28:26 Comeback Player of the Year.
00:28:28 Oh, Comeback Player of the Year.
00:28:30 Okay.
00:28:31 MVP.
00:28:32 MVP?
00:28:33 Maybe.
00:28:34 I guess you could say maybe in front of anything.
00:28:37 You never know.
00:28:38 You never know.
00:28:39 I got Baker.
00:28:40 As of right now, he's on the same production as everyone else.
00:28:43 Which is what?
00:28:46 Do you think he'll split votes, though, Mac Jones winning Comeback Player of the Year?
00:28:50 Good question.
00:28:51 Mac Jones was good last year.
00:28:53 What's he coming back from?
00:28:54 Exactly.
00:28:55 He had a great season.
00:28:56 Matt Patricia is his OC.
00:28:57 He had a great season last year.
00:28:58 He should be eligible for Comeback Player of the Year just because of Matt Patricia.
00:29:01 Surviving Matt Patricia?
00:29:03 That's worse than any injury.
00:29:04 If you look at the odds, they're so stacked to Damar Hamlin winning, though.
00:29:08 Oh, yeah. That's right it is.
00:29:10 It's going to be tough for a football writer to vote against Damar Hamlin.
00:29:13 Yes, I'd agree.

00:31:11 Okay, we now welcome on a very special guest, one of our good friends.
00:31:16 It is time to talk some college football.
00:31:20 He is Andy Staples, and you can find him at Andy_Staples on Twitter.
00:31:26 He has a new podcast, On 3 Sports, is the host of it.
00:31:29 So go find it, new feed. Everyone go subscribe.
00:31:34 Andy is a great, great college football reporter.
00:31:38 So let's get into it.
00:31:40 If you don't subscribe, you're a scumbag and you're dead to us.
00:31:42 Yeah, I hope you get hit by a bus.
00:31:43 That's what I'm talking about. Please.
00:31:45 Let's get into it. Let's start big picture.
00:31:49 I have a thought, and I want to hear your thoughts on it.
00:31:53 I think this is going to be the funnest college football season we've ever had
00:31:57 because we have all this change, all this realignment,
00:32:01 and it's going to be bad blood, and it's going to be weird stuff happening,
00:32:05 and it's like one last chance at this last thing that we've had for a while now,
00:32:11 and it's going to be awesome.
00:32:14 Yes, this is the end of one particular era of college football.
00:32:18 So you've got the expanded playoff coming,
00:32:21 you have new conference alignments coming next year,
00:32:24 and you have basically teams that have left other teams to die.
00:32:29 And, yeah, I think--think about this.
00:32:33 If you are Washington State and Oregon State,
00:32:36 you want to kick the living shit out of the six teams from the Pac-12
00:32:42 that are going somewhere else.
00:32:44 If you are anybody in the Big 12--
00:32:47 because when Texas and Oklahoma left for the SEC,
00:32:50 you could have had the same fate as Washington State and Oregon State.
00:32:53 So if you're Kansas State, if you're Iowa State,
00:32:56 you've got to crack at those guys before they leave.
00:32:58 You want to leave them with a lasting memory.
00:33:01 So we're going to see lots of saltiness,
00:33:04 and then, yeah, the last four-team playoff,
00:33:07 the last time some of these games at the end of the season
00:33:11 are as big as they are because it knocks somebody out.
00:33:14 Yeah, it's basically--we're living in a house where mom and dad broke up
00:33:18 but no one's moved out yet.
00:33:21 Exactly, and it is--yeah, dad is--
00:33:25 I don't know if dad's on the couch or in the spare room.
00:33:28 I feel like in the Pac-12, dad's still sleeping in the same bed,
00:33:32 and it's just all kinds of--
00:33:34 They have an open relationship in the Pac-12.
00:33:37 He's very clearly more in love with his secretary.
00:33:39 Yeah, dad's sleeping in a bed, and he's on Zillow every night
00:33:42 before he goes to bed looking at homes in Piscataway.
00:33:45 Yeah.
00:33:46 That's what he's doing.
00:33:47 It's always Piscataway.
00:33:48 Always Piscataway.
00:33:49 I don't like that shit on that.
00:33:51 I respect Rutgers.
00:33:52 I respect Shiano men.
00:33:53 I respect the program in Piscataway.
00:33:55 I don't like that they've become a punchline.
00:33:57 But I do think that if you--a lot of people are saying, like, okay,
00:34:00 if you look at the SEC, Georgia is going to be the prohibited favorite.
00:34:03 They're probably going to be the favorite to win the national championship.
00:34:06 College football is kind of a foregone conclusion.
00:34:08 People are saying that they're missing the beauty,
00:34:10 which is that this is going to be utter chaos.
00:34:12 If you don't like chaos, then you probably just don't like
00:34:14 college football in general.
00:34:16 Exactly, because there will be versions of chaos in probably every conference
00:34:20 except maybe the SEC.
00:34:22 Because I look at the Big Ten this year, you know,
00:34:24 I don't even think it's just an Ohio State/Michigan thing.
00:34:27 You know, everybody's kind of come to terms with, oh, wait,
00:34:30 Michigan's actually good.
00:34:32 It wasn't a fluke that they beat Ohio State two years in a row.
00:34:34 But the thing is, like, Penn State is loaded with freaky talent this year.
00:34:39 Like, they could really be a Big Ten title contender.
00:34:42 And if you're a Big Ten title contender,
00:34:43 it means you could actually be a national title contender.
00:34:46 So, you know, it's going to be very strange.
00:34:49 Like, that one's going to be wild.
00:34:51 Like, the ACC, you've got Florida State saying,
00:34:53 "We've got to get the hell out of this conference."
00:34:55 Like, their president said it out loud.
00:34:59 You've got George W. Bush and Condoleezza Rice
00:35:02 lobbying to try to get Stanford and SMU in.
00:35:04 Is that true?
00:35:06 Did W. pick up the phone for SMU and called the ACC,
00:35:09 and he's like, "Hey, take my boys"?
00:35:11 I wouldn't -- nothing would shock me at this point.
00:35:14 Yeah.
00:35:15 And I tell you what, the SMU group,
00:35:17 they are so great at rallying people.
00:35:20 Like, every time they want something to happen,
00:35:22 they will get politicians on the phone.
00:35:25 They will get -- in Texas, they'll get legislative hearings called.
00:35:29 Like, they'll have some committee.
00:35:32 I remember when Texas and A&M and Texas Tech were looking at joining the PAC 10 years ago.
00:35:37 Like, this whole SMU group got everybody riled up
00:35:41 and got a hearing called in the Texas legislature.
00:35:45 And they're always looking for a way into that next conference
00:35:49 because they still -- like, the death penalty is still affecting them
00:35:55 for almost 40 years later.
00:35:57 And they feel like they got completely screwed in that.
00:36:00 And let's be perfectly honest, the NIL era was built for SMU.
00:36:03 Like, they're ready to party.
00:36:05 Like, 30 years ahead of their time.
00:36:07 Kind of ironic that W would be against the death penalty in this situation,
00:36:10 given his track record.
00:36:12 He killed a lot of people.
00:36:14 You want to start with Big Ten?
00:36:16 Yeah, I was going to say Caleb Williams, Big Ten.
00:36:18 Let's start there.
00:36:19 Big Ten quarterback, Caleb?
00:36:20 He's never going to play in the Big Ten.
00:36:21 I know, I know.
00:36:22 But I was going to say I wanted to start with Caleb Williams.
00:36:25 He's been a prohibitive favorite, special, special player.
00:36:28 Last we saw him losing to Utah with the injury and everything.
00:36:34 Does USC have a defense?
00:36:35 Because I feel like this is going to be just Lincoln-Riley every year.
00:36:39 The offensive is explosive, dynamic.
00:36:41 They're going to win these big games where everyone's wowed by them.
00:36:44 And then they go up against a team like a Utah who wants to just punch you
00:36:49 in the mouth, and it all falls like a house of cards for them.
00:36:54 So, they have tried to improve their body types on defense.
00:36:58 And, like, they went in the transfer portal,
00:37:00 and they got Anthony Lucas from Texas A&M, who was a freshman last year,
00:37:03 actually played very well there, but family wanted him in a different
00:37:08 circumstance than wanted him somewhere else.
00:37:10 So, he goes to USC.
00:37:12 They pick up Bear Alexander, who was playing at Georgia as a true freshman
00:37:15 on that defensive line.
00:37:17 And so, they actually have guys that look the part now on the D-line,
00:37:22 which is not something that USC or any of the defenses on previous
00:37:27 Lincoln-Riley Oklahoma teams had before.
00:37:29 And so, I'm curious if that changes things a little bit because while they're
00:37:34 not as deep as a Georgia or an Alabama on that front,
00:37:39 they got some stuff that a lot of the other teams don't have.
00:37:41 Now, Oregon has a little bit of that too because Mario Cristobal was
00:37:45 recruiting for them because Dan Lanning is their head coach now,
00:37:48 and he was the D.C. at Georgia.
00:37:50 So, Oregon has some of that.
00:37:52 Washington has some of that.
00:37:54 But there's not a ton of that in the Pac-12.
00:37:56 So, it should help them theoretically, but the question is,
00:38:00 are they going to be deep enough?
00:38:02 Are they going to be physical enough in practice so that in November or in a
00:38:05 Pac-12 championship game situation that they can tackle?
00:38:08 Like, the tackling in the Pac-12 championship game against Utah last year
00:38:11 was embarrassing.
00:38:12 So bad.
00:38:13 And it looked like a team that doesn't hit very much at the end of the season.
00:38:18 And then you see what Georgia does and what Alabama does and what Michigan
00:38:23 does.
00:38:24 They look completely different.
00:38:26 Yeah.
00:38:27 Yeah, he didn't even start out with the Big Ten quarterback with the most
00:38:30 preseason Heisman hype.
00:38:31 That's Bo Nix.
00:38:32 Yeah.
00:38:33 From Oregon.
00:38:34 Bo Nix and Cam Rising.
00:38:35 Yeah.
00:38:36 Bo Nix.
00:38:37 They're both with a giant billboard in Times Square.
00:38:38 Is it in Times Square?
00:38:39 No, it's in Gramercy.
00:38:40 This is the year.
00:38:41 It's like 23rd and Park.
00:38:43 Yeah, so Bo Nix being talked about for the Heisman.
00:38:45 Is this the year that Bo Nix finally puts it all together, Andy?
00:38:48 I feel like we've had this exact conversation.
00:38:50 So, he was putting it together last year.
00:38:53 This was amazing to me because I saw this stat late in the season.
00:38:59 And I started comparing and I thought this can't be real.
00:39:03 His stats going into the Washington game last year, that's the one where he got
00:39:07 dinged up and ended up losing.
00:39:08 But his stats going into that game, almost identical to Marcus Mariota in his
00:39:12 Heisman season.
00:39:13 Yeah.
00:39:14 And that was a dominant Heisman performance by Marcus Mariota.
00:39:17 So, I mean, Bo is a touchdown machine.
00:39:19 And yeah, I mean, he's definitely matured.
00:39:23 The good Bo, bad Bo that you saw at Auburn, there's a lot less of bad Bo.
00:39:28 And I like Oregon a lot.
00:39:31 You look at also what they've gotten through the transfer portal.
00:39:34 Like Jordan Burch came from South Carolina, former five-star defensive line
00:39:38 guy.
00:39:39 Like they have some guys that look like they could compete against anybody.
00:39:44 And I know Georgia kicked the crap out of him last year.
00:39:47 I remember it.
00:39:48 I watched.
00:39:49 But I'm telling you right now, they've improved that roster to the point where
00:39:53 they could be competitive against playoff-type teams.
00:39:57 So, they have to be more consistent.
00:39:59 Because what happened last year against Washington shouldn't have happened.
00:40:01 And maybe you chalk that up to Dan Lanning being a first-year head coach.
00:40:05 What happened to them against Oregon State was just embarrassing.
00:40:08 Yeah.
00:40:09 Oregon State ran the ball 17 times in a row while coming back from a deficit
00:40:13 in the second half.
00:40:15 This is emasculating.
00:40:16 It is funny because the Pac-12 is the conference of quarterbacks you know.
00:40:20 Because you've got Cam Rising, Bo Nix, Caleb Williams, Cam Ward, Michael Penix,
00:40:25 all these guys.
00:40:26 They have steady, sturdy quarterbacks.
00:40:30 So, it should be some really good football.
00:40:32 Yeah, it is.
00:40:33 And you didn't mention Jaden DeLauro in Arizona who started before Cam Ward at
00:40:37 Washington State.
00:40:38 But he's pretty good.
00:40:39 And then DJ Uyungle, who's in Clemson, is at Oregon State now.
00:40:43 I wish DTR was still there.
00:40:45 DTR is a guy that I wish played college football forever.
00:40:49 I saw DTR playing in the preseason and was just like, "God bless this."
00:40:54 This is only going to work in the preseason.
00:40:56 Yeah.
00:40:57 But I'm glad he's getting his moment.
00:40:58 Yes.
00:40:59 So, I have a question about a team that somehow feels like it's getting forgotten.
00:41:03 And maybe for good reason because for the first time in what feels like, I don't
00:41:06 know, a decade, Alabama doesn't have a surefire, bona fide, like, "This guy is a
00:41:11 great quarterback."
00:41:13 Are we sleeping, though, on Bama?
00:41:15 Because doesn't it feel like Nick Saban has – the defense is going to be very
00:41:19 good.
00:41:20 The offense line is going to be very good.
00:41:21 They're going to run the ball down your throat.
00:41:23 It might be a throwback Alabama type of year.
00:41:26 Is there a little bit of like, "Oh, yeah, we've anointed Georgia for good
00:41:31 reason."
00:41:32 LSU is obviously on the come up with the year they had last year.
00:41:36 And beat them last year.
00:41:37 Right.
00:41:38 But is this going to be like a throwback Nick Saban?
00:41:40 Like, you're seeing it even with his buddy Bill Belichick in the NFL.
00:41:44 Like, they're going to zag now when everyone zigs with the spread it out.
00:41:48 Oh, yeah.
00:41:49 Yeah, there's a very big run the damn ball vibe coming out of Alabama right now.
00:41:54 Because the front seven is very, very good.
00:41:57 If you don't know the name Jaheim Otis yet, you're going to.
00:42:00 This is a dude, grew up in Mississippi.
00:42:02 Alabama offered him an eighth grade.
00:42:04 He showed up on campus weighing like 400 pounds.
00:42:07 They got him down to like 330.
00:42:09 He's a monster on the defensive line.
00:42:12 But they've also got Dallas Turner and Chris Braswell who can get after the
00:42:16 quarterback.
00:42:17 So the assumption that because Will Anderson's gone, their pass rush is not
00:42:20 as effective.
00:42:21 No, it will be very effective.
00:42:23 Where Alabama got in trouble last year was their DBs were not as good as they
00:42:28 usually are.
00:42:29 They were not as fast as they usually are.
00:42:31 And you saw that hurt them in games like Tennessee where you guys had Jalen
00:42:36 Smith, you know, the fat, maybe the fastest guy in the SEC running straight at
00:42:40 DeMarco Helms, who's a safety and getting a 20 yard head start.
00:42:44 And what's DeMarco Helms supposed to do in that situation?
00:42:46 So Alabama, I think a little bit faster in the secondary across the board.
00:42:50 Very good in the front seven.
00:42:53 Their big question is the quarterback.
00:42:55 You know, they went and got Tyler Buckner as a transfer from Notre Dame, but he
00:42:58 wasn't leaving a starting job there.
00:43:00 Sam Hartman was going to be a starter at Notre Dame.
00:43:02 So Tommy Reese, who was Notre Dame's OC last year, is Alabama's OC this year.
00:43:07 And he's got to pick a quarterback.
00:43:09 So you got you got Tyler Buckner who came from Notre Dame.
00:43:12 You got Jalen Milrow, who's the guy who started in place of Bryce Young
00:43:15 against A&M last year.
00:43:16 Who's a tree at Ty Simpson.
00:43:18 No, row that Texas A&M game.
00:43:20 Like if you're picking best athletes on a field, he would win every single time,
00:43:24 but he can't throw the ball.
00:43:26 No way.
00:43:27 And that's the problem.
00:43:28 Like I he's a quarterback.
00:43:29 I caught a pass in that game.
00:43:31 I know you're going to ask me the rowback question later.
00:43:34 I was wearing my rowback performance hoodie, and I believe it had something
00:43:38 to do with it.
00:43:39 But Haynes King was playing quarterback at Texas A&M in that game, and he's
00:43:44 at Georgia Tech now.
00:43:45 And we're they let you down on the field for the last five minutes if you're
00:43:48 in the press box.
00:43:49 And so I in one hand I had my phone, and I'm just I'm filming the play
00:43:53 because it's it's it's tight game coming down to the last drive.
00:43:56 And Haynes King gets chased.
00:43:59 I want to say by Willie Anderson.
00:44:00 I think Willie Anderson was in his lap, throws the ball over the sideline,
00:44:04 and all of a sudden I see it coming.
00:44:06 And Texas A&M's athletic director, Ross Bjork, is standing in front of me.
00:44:09 He tries to catch it.
00:44:11 He's a former fullback, so his hands are.
00:44:14 But I got it while filming.
00:44:17 Got it with my left hand.
00:44:19 So I think that's when you ask the rowback question.
00:44:23 There's my rowback endorsement.
00:44:24 Yes, you Odell Beckham did.
00:44:26 That's awesome.
00:44:27 And you get it on film.
00:44:28 Yes, yes.
00:44:29 But no, Milrow in that game.
00:44:31 I'm surprised he didn't throw many passes either.
00:44:33 Yes, because it was he was spraying it all over.
00:44:36 But he can run like I, you know, now that I work for on three, we have all
00:44:43 these team sites.
00:44:44 I cruise the message boards quite a bit.
00:44:46 The Bama folks are convinced Milrose the guy.
00:44:48 And it's I don't know that I have no way.
00:44:53 That's one of those like Georgia Carson Beck's going to be the guy.
00:44:57 But Alabama, I have no idea who the guys Carson Beck is.
00:45:01 That just sounds like a good quarterback.
00:45:03 Georgia.
00:45:04 This is why Alabama should run the triple option.
00:45:06 I was always one.
00:45:07 I was about to say, like, you want to do the ultimate thing.
00:45:09 Well, everybody else.
00:45:10 Obviously with Tommy Reese, I guess he's no longer Tom Reese.
00:45:12 He was Tom Reese for like, oh, no, he's back to Tommy.
00:45:15 Switch that again.
00:45:16 So since they have him, they're probably not going to do it.
00:45:19 But it would be sick if Nick Saban brought in like an army offensive
00:45:23 coordinator and just fuck with everybody for a year.
00:45:25 That's it.
00:45:26 Well, Army's not running the triple anymore, so they should steal it from
00:45:29 them.
00:45:30 And now there's a name that you need to remember.
00:45:33 Justice Haynes.
00:45:34 He's a freshman running back in Alabama.
00:45:36 Steelers fans will remember Ron Haynes.
00:45:39 Georgia fans obviously remember Ron Haynes.
00:45:41 He played fullback there and caught the game winning pass against
00:45:45 Tennessee when Larry Munson said we stepped on their face with a
00:45:49 hobnail boot and broke their nose.
00:45:51 Well, this is his kid.
00:45:52 Okay, and he is unbelievable.
00:45:55 So just get Justice Haynes crank up the Heisman campaign for a couple
00:45:59 years from now.
00:46:00 So there's another quarterback in the SEC that I want to talk about
00:46:02 because he's probably my favorite quarterback to watch in theory.
00:46:06 And that's bazooka Joe Milton.
00:46:08 Right.
00:46:09 Andy, did you know that he threw an orange 120 yards?
00:46:13 Nothing would shock me.
00:46:15 Yeah, but there's no Joe Milton throwing something like there is no
00:46:19 Joe Milton projectile stat that will surprise me.
00:46:21 Yeah, before the Orange Bowl last year was the orangest Orange Bowl of
00:46:24 all time.
00:46:25 Clemson against Tennessee.
00:46:26 They gave him an orange.
00:46:27 They said, how far can you throw it?
00:46:28 He threw it 120 yards, which is just he's a freak.
00:46:31 He's an absolute freak.
00:46:32 He says that he can throw a football 90 yards.
00:46:35 I don't know if that's true, but I guess I, I guess I could believe it.
00:46:38 The problem is going to be like, can he direct where the ball is going
00:46:41 at all?
00:46:42 But I'm still excited to see what he does in that offense.
00:46:44 Should Tennessee fans be excited about bazooka Joe?
00:46:47 Like I am.
00:46:48 Yes, absolutely.
00:46:50 So I told big cat this when he came on my show earlier this week, I went
00:46:54 to Tennessee a couple of springs ago, and this is when, when hidden
00:46:58 hooker was still the starter and one of their coaches goes, okay, you're
00:47:01 going to practice tomorrow, right?
00:47:02 I said, yeah.
00:47:03 He said, you're going to stand behind Joe Milton and you're going to
00:47:05 watch him throw a football.
00:47:07 And you're going to say, this is the greatest quarterback I've ever seen
00:47:10 in my life.
00:47:11 And the next day I was behind Joe Milton.
00:47:14 They were doing one of those coming out of your own end zone kind of
00:47:17 situations.
00:47:18 So he takes a snap drops back into the end zone unleashes it like 60
00:47:23 yards down the field dime.
00:47:24 I'm like, yup, yup.
00:47:26 Best quarterback I've ever seen in my entire life.
00:47:28 But even though I've seen him at Michigan, I I've seen him when he got
00:47:33 the job at Tennessee and then gave it away to him and hooker because he
00:47:36 was air mailing balls in games.
00:47:38 But that orange bowl, which was against a good Clemson defense, which
00:47:41 was, you know, they didn't have a lot of opt outs.
00:47:44 They were very well man.
00:47:45 He carved him up.
00:47:48 And so I'm fully in fully believing.
00:47:52 But I also know that Tennessee fans, if he does come out and you see the
00:47:57 old Joe Milton appear, even in the Virginia game, he sees an opener, which
00:48:00 they should win pretty easily against a Virginia quarterback, Tony musket,
00:48:05 which is a great quarterback name for Virginia too.
00:48:08 Exactly.
00:48:09 Yeah.
00:48:10 The only one better would be Tony blunderbuss.
00:48:12 But the, the Joe Milton Heisman campaign, if he airmails like two balls in
00:48:19 a row is going to hit a brick wall.
00:48:22 And then the Tennessee fans will immediately chanting for Nico.
00:48:25 Yama may a lava.
00:48:27 And y'all remember the NIL story, the big NIL deal.
00:48:31 There's a, there's a dude who signed this huge NIL.
00:48:33 He's the guy.
00:48:34 And I, you know, personality wise, if there's anybody who can handle that
00:48:38 sort of thing, Nico seems to have the personality for it, but they, they
00:48:41 really do love this guy at Tennessee.
00:48:43 They think he can be a star.
00:48:45 I think they would love for Joe Milton to have a good year so that Nico is
00:48:48 not thrust into that and can, can develop.
00:48:51 But he's an interesting one too, cause he's got a big arm.
00:48:54 He's six, five and fairly thin, but dad's like 320 pounds.
00:49:00 Dad's a monster.
00:49:02 So at some point, Nico may be six, five to 30 and just running dudes
00:49:07 over with this arm.
00:49:08 Yes.
00:49:09 But Joe is already that that's what Joe is.
00:49:12 Joe is Anthony Richardson.
00:49:14 Maybe not quite as fast and without the backflips.
00:49:17 Yeah.
00:49:18 I could just watch him throw things.
00:49:20 Yeah.
00:49:21 If he ends up not starting, they should just do like a Friday
00:49:24 live stream.
00:49:25 We're just going to give him various things and see how far it can
00:49:27 go.
00:49:28 Here's a cat.
00:49:29 Let's see if you can get it 30 yards in the air.
00:49:30 I want, here's a wrench.
00:49:31 I want to trust Joe Milton nights.
00:49:33 It's the Michigan and it's the time that he went out of bounds on
00:49:36 fourth down to end the game.
00:49:38 That those two things are in the back of my head where I'm like, I
00:49:41 want to give it because he is so much fun to watch.
00:49:44 But those two things just stick in my head.
00:49:46 Big cat.
00:49:47 I'm a Florida grad.
00:49:48 I have to ask you a Wisconsin question.
00:49:50 Yes.
00:49:51 Should should Florida be trusting Graham Mertz?
00:49:54 Oh, Mertz for Heisman.
00:49:57 No, I like Graham.
00:50:03 He's a great kid.
00:50:04 History has told you that he's a great kid and I feel I feel bad
00:50:07 for him because it, it, it was tough for him because he had the start.
00:50:12 He had that Illinois game was basically a quarterback.
00:50:15 Can't play more perfect football than what he did.
00:50:18 The COVID year.
00:50:19 We're all watching.
00:50:20 It was incredible.
00:50:21 And he obviously has the tools, but just the decision-making is not
00:50:25 always there.
00:50:26 And that's, and if you have that a couple of times, it's the difference
00:50:30 between winning seven, eight games, winning 10 games.
00:50:33 So I I'm rooting for him.
00:50:35 Let's say that I'm rooting for him.
00:50:36 I do not want him to do poor.
00:50:37 What I've gathered from talking to people around Florida's program.
00:50:40 They love him.
00:50:41 Right.
00:50:42 And everybody's excited.
00:50:43 He looks, they understand.
00:50:44 Yeah.
00:50:45 But it'll be a lot of, you know, Montreal Johnson and Trevor ETN,
00:50:51 who are very good running backs.
00:50:53 If they can run the ball a little bit, maybe it takes some pressure
00:50:55 off him, but that's, that, that seems to be the book on, on Graham.
00:50:58 Yeah.
00:50:59 All right.
00:51:00 So give us a team that you think is going to disappoint and a team
00:51:03 that you think is going to surprise.
00:51:05 So the one I, I need to see them do this because the expectations are
00:51:13 sky high again.
00:51:14 And it's like, we talk ourselves into this every single year without
00:51:17 them ever showing us.
00:51:19 They can do this on the field is Texas.
00:51:21 Texas is going to be favored to win the big 12.
00:51:25 They're probably gonna be favored in 11 of 12 games, probably every
00:51:27 game, but Alabama, they actually have quite a bit of NFL talent this
00:51:32 year, which I know everybody's like, Oh, Texas is going to win.
00:51:34 I know everybody's like, Oh, Texas has five star recruits every year.
00:51:37 They've not put out a ton of NFL talent in the last 10 years.
00:51:41 This time they haven't, they've got a bunch of guys, the NFL people like,
00:51:44 so there was really no excuse for them not to close out their time in the
00:51:49 big 12 with a title.
00:51:51 But I've seen too many times.
00:51:54 And it's not just Steve Sarkeesian.
00:51:55 You know, it's, it's when Tom Herman was coaching him when Charlie
00:51:57 strong was coaching him, where they roll in to, you know, to play
00:52:02 somebody who they're clearly more talented than, and I last year it
00:52:05 would, it was Texas tech and Oklahoma state and they just find a way to
00:52:10 lose and I need to see them win these games before I can believe.
00:52:15 And so like, they're, they're total is nine and a half.
00:52:18 I picked the under and everybody went nuts and it look, feel free to clown
00:52:23 me.
00:52:24 If Texas rolls to a big 12 title, I great.
00:52:28 That's what Texas should be doing.
00:52:30 And as they go into the sec, they'll be in, they'll be in good shape.
00:52:33 But until we see them do that with the games that they should win, where
00:52:39 they are more talented than the opponent, I, I can't believe yet because
00:52:45 I've been fooled so many times.
00:52:46 So like beat Kansas state, beat TCU, beat Iowa state, beat Texas tech.
00:52:53 Then we can talk.
00:52:54 Yeah.
00:52:54 Going back to even like Mack Brown, when he was at Texas in his last
00:52:57 couple of years, he would just get five stars on five stars on five stars
00:53:00 and then not develop them to the level that like, I remember they had
00:53:04 Malcolm Brown and Jonathan gray at running back and everybody in the
00:53:07 country was saying, these are the best two running back prospects that
00:53:10 we've seen in the last, you know, 10, 15 years.
00:53:13 Ricky Williams, we got two Ricky Williams is on our roster right now.
00:53:17 They don't turn them out.
00:53:18 I will give you a counterpoint though.
00:53:19 Why?
00:53:20 Or I guess maybe in your favor, why maybe you would look to fade Texas
00:53:24 and that is Quinn.
00:53:25 You were cut his mullet, which is disturbing.
00:53:28 I was very disappointed on many levels.
00:53:30 It was about leadership.
00:53:31 Listen, I, the mullet exudes leadership.
00:53:34 It is business up front still.
00:53:36 That's true.
00:53:37 Like why would you, why would you cut it off?
00:53:39 That you're, you're not losing the business if you have the party.
00:53:43 Yeah.
00:53:44 Right.
00:53:44 And, and a lot of people are talking about arch Manning as you know,
00:53:47 highly touted recruit coming in.
00:53:48 Obviously he's got everything in the world going for him, but if you're
00:53:51 plugged in on the 40 acres, like we are Andy, you know, that,
00:53:54 Malik Murphy is a dog and a lot of people in Austin are saying,
00:53:59 but I, okay.
00:54:01 Before we go too far with the Malik Murphy, if Quinn were to go down
00:54:06 or a Quinn were to have problems, you might see arch.
00:54:12 Yeah.
00:54:12 You think so?
00:54:13 You think he's going to beat out Malik?
00:54:14 I think there's a good chance.
00:54:16 Hmm.
00:54:17 Interesting.
00:54:18 I also think it's just going to be everyone just clamoring for him too.
00:54:20 I don't even think it's that.
00:54:22 I think they'll play whoever they think is better.
00:54:24 And you know,
00:54:25 the one thing with arch is they're not going to pressure like the family
00:54:29 and that they're, they're not going to pressure anybody to play him.
00:54:32 They seem to go in with a pretty mature plan for him and, and are,
00:54:35 you know,
00:54:36 perfectly accepting of if he needs a year or so to, to win that job.
00:54:40 But it, it may be that,
00:54:42 that he develops faster and they feel like he's he's ready.
00:54:45 So that one,
00:54:46 I I'll be curious to see if Sark announces who the,
00:54:50 who the backup is and who the third guy is.
00:54:53 But you know,
00:54:54 you saw Quinn get hurt in the Alabama game.
00:54:56 So in game two last year,
00:54:57 they would have won that game.
00:54:58 Of course,
00:54:59 Hudson card to play.
00:55:00 Yeah.
00:55:01 So I will be very curious to see who goes in second.
00:55:04 If something happens with Quinn,
00:55:05 you were right.
00:55:06 So,
00:55:06 and then the flip side,
00:55:07 a team that you think is going to surprise people that no one's talking
00:55:11 about.
00:55:12 I think people in the sec are talking about this.
00:55:14 I don't know about nationally,
00:55:15 but Kentucky seems to have fixed a lot of the things that caused problems
00:55:20 last year where they,
00:55:22 they just,
00:55:23 the offense didn't quite work.
00:55:24 They had lost Liam cone to the Rams.
00:55:25 He comes back as the OC.
00:55:27 This is the same guy that,
00:55:29 that had will Levis the first year.
00:55:31 Levis was at Kentucky.
00:55:32 So they've,
00:55:33 they've got Devin Leary now,
00:55:34 who was the NC state quarterback for a long time.
00:55:37 And it actually went into last season as,
00:55:39 as the,
00:55:40 you know,
00:55:41 NC state was mountain Heisman campaign for him.
00:55:42 He was coming off a really good 2021,
00:55:44 but he had a shoulder injury and had to have surgery.
00:55:46 So they could be quite a bit better.
00:55:49 They will,
00:55:51 they have some very good young receivers in Dain key and Barry and Brown,
00:55:54 hopefully better on the offensive line.
00:55:56 That,
00:55:57 that,
00:55:57 that will be a big one for them is they just have gone kind of downhill in
00:56:02 that department,
00:56:03 but I,
00:56:03 but they've recruited well over the years.
00:56:05 So you think it'll come back around.
00:56:07 And so that's one that if you're Tennessee,
00:56:10 if you're Florida,
00:56:11 if you're South Carolina,
00:56:12 you're worried about them being considerably better than they were last
00:56:16 year.
00:56:17 Right.
00:56:17 Okay.
00:56:18 Should we talk a little big 10?
00:56:20 It's going to be fun.
00:56:21 Michigan.
00:56:23 This is the best chance Michigan has to win a national championship.
00:56:26 It feels like this is the culmination of everything Harbaugh has built the
00:56:29 last two years,
00:56:30 going to the college football playoff,
00:56:31 beating Ohio state.
00:56:32 But I,
00:56:34 I,
00:56:34 in the back of my head,
00:56:35 I'm like,
00:56:36 and this is going against what we historically know.
00:56:39 Cause what we historically know is Penn state plays Ohio state.
00:56:42 Well,
00:56:42 and then gets killed by Michigan,
00:56:43 but Penn state feels like they also like,
00:56:46 it's going to be a very fun East with those three teams and how it all
00:56:51 shakes out.
00:56:52 And so what are your thoughts on that?
00:56:54 So Penn state gets killed by Michigan in Ann Arbor for that game.
00:57:00 State college.
00:57:01 Yeah.
00:57:01 And that,
00:57:02 and then,
00:57:02 and that's honestly,
00:57:03 it's as simplistic as that is.
00:57:05 I don't,
00:57:06 I can't explain why they can't play in an Arbor,
00:57:09 but they can't.
00:57:10 And so when,
00:57:11 when Michigan comes to say college,
00:57:12 Penn state has a chance.
00:57:14 And for whatever reason,
00:57:15 Penn state always plays Ohio state tough,
00:57:17 no matter where they're playing.
00:57:18 Every,
00:57:19 that game's in Columbus,
00:57:20 but I expect that to be a close game.
00:57:22 I'd probably still say Ohio state's the winner.
00:57:24 If you asked me to pick a winner right now,
00:57:26 but I expect it to be competitive,
00:57:29 but Penn state.
00:57:31 Yeah.
00:57:31 They're different,
00:57:32 different animal this year.
00:57:33 Now,
00:57:34 Michigan is loaded with NFL talent.
00:57:36 Jim Harbaugh told my friend Bruce Feldman.
00:57:37 He thinks 20 guys are going to get drafted off this roster,
00:57:40 which seems slightly aggressive,
00:57:42 but like Jim Nagy from the senior bowl said,
00:57:45 he thinks there's seven offensive linemen who are draft eligible.
00:57:48 That's not including freshmen and sophomores.
00:57:50 Some of which are good too,
00:57:51 who he thinks will be in NFL camps next year.
00:57:54 Wow.
00:57:55 Dudes that aren't even going to start.
00:57:57 And that is a lot of talent and a lot of really good development.
00:58:02 Michigan staff has done so.
00:58:04 I like,
00:58:05 I don't think Michigan beating Ohio state the last two years is a fluke.
00:58:09 No,
00:58:10 I need to see Ohio state beat them to prove that they can.
00:58:13 I do feel like Ohio state has built a little more to play on carpet in a
00:58:18 dome.
00:58:19 And like,
00:58:20 if you play that game again on carpet and dome,
00:58:22 which you might be doing once the divisions go away in the big 10
00:58:25 championship game,
00:58:26 maybe Ohio state is better suited for that.
00:58:29 But in November in the cold,
00:58:32 Michigan's built for this.
00:58:34 Now you,
00:58:35 I was either you or your,
00:58:36 your former co-host,
00:58:37 sorry,
00:58:37 Wasserman said it perfectly that Ohio state has spent all these years,
00:58:40 building a program to beat sec while Michigan built a program to beat Ohio
00:58:46 state,
00:58:47 Ohio state.
00:58:48 And that's where the commenter who was even better.
00:58:51 He said,
00:58:52 he said,
00:58:53 Ohio state,
00:58:54 this is Ohno224 on YouTube.
00:58:55 Ohio state is built to hang 50 on Michigan state and Michigan's built to
00:58:58 beat Ohio state.
00:58:59 And it happened last year where you saw Ohio state put the national,
00:59:02 they easily could have won that game against the national champion,
00:59:05 Georgia.
00:59:06 And it wasn't a fluke that Michigan bullied them around again.
00:59:09 Well,
00:59:10 and Ohio state,
00:59:11 if they're getting a little bit better defensively,
00:59:13 they can win the national championship.
00:59:15 I mean,
00:59:16 that's the thing.
00:59:17 And they'll have a new quarterback this year,
00:59:19 but with that receiving court guide,
00:59:20 like we would throw for three 3,500 yards in that offense.
00:59:24 So it's the defense.
00:59:26 It's the defense and stop giving up such big plays like that.
00:59:31 Michigan game,
00:59:32 the two Cornelius Johnson touchdowns.
00:59:34 Like how in the world did you let that happen?
00:59:36 Yeah.
00:59:37 They need another.
00:59:38 It makes no sense.
00:59:39 They need another Bosa brother.
00:59:40 They got to find another Bosa brother somewhere.
00:59:42 It's that simple.
00:59:43 Sometimes they are not.
00:59:44 It's interesting.
00:59:45 Cause that factory does.
00:59:48 It feels like the Bosa brothers chase young,
00:59:51 but JT to him allow is,
00:59:52 is a pretty damn good pass rusher.
00:59:54 You saw him in the Penn state game last year.
00:59:56 If he can have more games like that,
00:59:58 they're okay.
00:59:59 So what's going to happen with Harbaugh.
01:00:00 I I've heard,
01:00:01 we've all heard the four game story.
01:00:03 Now it seems like the NCAA,
01:00:05 the negotiations have broken down,
01:00:08 which that's still puzzling to me that you negotiate the suspension with the
01:00:12 team,
01:00:13 but that's like the 200th most weird out of control thing that the NCAA
01:00:16 does.
01:00:17 So is Harbaugh,
01:00:18 how many games is he actually going to be able to coach this year?
01:00:20 In your opinion,
01:00:21 he'll coach all the games this year,
01:00:23 because basically what,
01:00:24 so the committee on infraction,
01:00:26 so this would be equivalent and,
01:00:28 and there you it's don't do too much real world justice,
01:00:32 NCAA equivalency,
01:00:34 but it would basically be the equivalent of the defense and the prosecutor
01:00:37 agreed on a plea deal and the judge rejected it.
01:00:39 That's,
01:00:40 that's what happened.
01:00:41 They were going to do a four game suspension and the committee on
01:00:44 infractions,
01:00:45 which is the one that hears the case.
01:00:46 It's like,
01:00:47 nah,
01:00:48 which means they've already decided they want to punish him more than that.
01:00:51 Right.
01:00:52 So,
01:00:53 but,
01:00:54 but now the timing always drags out in NCAA land.
01:00:56 So they wouldn't even have the hearing probably till after the season,
01:00:59 you wouldn't find out the results of that till months after that.
01:01:02 So Jim Harbaugh,
01:01:03 you know,
01:01:04 he may be the NFL by that point,
01:01:06 he's flirted with it two years in a row,
01:01:08 or I can see him just double middle fingering them and they say,
01:01:11 okay,
01:01:12 you're going to,
01:01:13 we're going to suspend you for six games and be like,
01:01:14 fine,
01:01:15 I'll sit out and then I'll kick you out.
01:01:16 You know,
01:01:17 kick everybody's ass when I get back.
01:01:18 Yeah.
01:01:19 Yeah.
01:01:20 And I think that's what the NFL does this too.
01:01:21 They think that they're a branch of law enforcement.
01:01:23 They think that they're actually like the justice system and they have all
01:01:26 these hearings and at the end of the day,
01:01:28 they're just all making up the rules as they go along.
01:01:30 Yeah.
01:01:31 Yeah.
01:01:32 The Harbaugh thing though,
01:01:33 I do wonder cause he has,
01:01:34 you know,
01:01:35 he talked to the Vikings two years ago.
01:01:37 He talked to the Broncos this past year.
01:01:39 It's not like he's a guy who is,
01:01:42 has been a great college coach and we kind of wonder if he could do it in
01:01:45 the NFL.
01:01:46 He took a team to the freaking Superbowl.
01:01:47 Yeah.
01:01:48 Like,
01:01:49 he's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:01:50 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:01:51 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:01:52 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:01:53 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:01:54 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:01:55 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:01:56 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:01:57 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:01:58 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:01:59 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:02:00 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:02:01 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:02:02 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:02:03 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:02:04 He's like the guy who's been a great coach.
01:02:32 And they driven a long way and basically he's like, well, I'm going to go see him.
01:02:36 And you were not supposed to do that.
01:02:38 And so he, they, they went to a burger place.
01:02:41 He actually, I, from what are the guys that are Michigan site, the Wolverine have told
01:02:45 me, he didn't pay for the burgers.
01:02:47 Cause he's Jim Harbaugh and it's free, but he put a tip down and that's where the receipt
01:02:51 came from that they hit him with when they're saying, did you do this?
01:02:55 Cause he's, he's doing the, you know, what every defense lawyer will tell you.
01:02:58 I don't recall.
01:02:59 Right.
01:03:00 Yeah.
01:03:01 And he still said, I don't recall.
01:03:03 And so now they say that he's giving false or misleading information and that's what
01:03:07 they're actually going to try him for as opposed to, it's not the burgers.
01:03:11 Yeah.
01:03:12 It's saying, I don't recall about the burgers, which is, this is just such a stupid conversation
01:03:16 to be having.
01:03:17 He went out to lunch with players that are going to play for him.
01:03:20 There should be somebody in the room with common sense and the NCAA doesn't have any
01:03:23 of that.
01:03:24 I've always said the NCAA should have a VP of common sense.
01:03:27 Yeah.
01:03:28 They, they don't clearly, but yeah.
01:03:30 I, I, it, this is weird because Jim Trestle at Ohio state essentially got fired over the
01:03:36 same thing.
01:03:37 He lied to the investigators about knowing that some of his players were trading their
01:03:42 stuff for tattoos and cash and stuff.
01:03:45 And I wonder if the NCAA people like the enforcement staff who honestly they're probably having
01:03:50 an existential crisis because what do they do anymore?
01:03:54 Like their job for years and years was to keep players from getting paid.
01:03:57 They can't stop that now.
01:03:59 So now they're going to, they're going to try to hammer every coach they can, but maybe
01:04:04 they just don't need to exist.
01:04:06 Maybe the enforcement department of the NCAA needs to worry about other things.
01:04:09 They got to save their job.
01:04:10 Defund.
01:04:11 Yeah.
01:04:12 I, I have a couple more questions.
01:04:14 A Clemson dabbo hot seat.
01:04:19 No definitely not.
01:04:20 Come on.
01:04:21 But, but I'm intrigued because he's brought in Garrett Riley as offensive coordinator.
01:04:27 So Garrett Riley was the OC for TCU.
01:04:29 He's the younger brother of Lincoln Riley, the USC coach.
01:04:33 Every time dabbo has brought new ideas into Clemson, Clemson has gotten better.
01:04:36 I was a little worried last year when, you know, both coordinators left Clemson promoted
01:04:41 from within and it's like, okay, are you sure what you're doing is, is going to keep you
01:04:46 on pace to compete for national titles.
01:04:49 And it, they look stale offensively last year.
01:04:52 They look fine defensively, but they look stale offensively.
01:04:54 So now they're bringing in new ideas, but I do wonder, you know, from a talent standpoint
01:05:00 on offense, I don't worry about their defense.
01:05:02 I think they're going to be fine there.
01:05:03 Do they have the playmakers beyond will Shipley and, and you know, are they going to have
01:05:09 the receiving court?
01:05:10 Cause remember they think about who they used to have at receiver when they had, you know,
01:05:14 pre-injury Justin Ross and T Higgins and Mike Williams and Sammy Watkins.
01:05:19 And do they have any special receivers like that?
01:05:21 Because that's, they're going to need that to get back to where they were.
01:05:25 Yeah.
01:05:26 I would say yes.
01:05:27 Hot seat for Dabo, by the way.
01:05:28 Because in his own words, he said he would quit coaching college football if the players
01:05:31 got paid.
01:05:32 It's true.
01:05:33 He put himself on the hot seat.
01:05:34 And well, the former big 10 commissioner said they were going to go D three and shockingly
01:05:38 they haven't, they've just signed a larger TV deal.
01:05:41 It's easy to say stuff.
01:05:42 Yeah.
01:05:43 A lot of people say a lot of things sometimes we don't want to show.
01:05:45 We don't, that's very true.
01:05:48 Just back to the big 10 real quick.
01:05:49 There's one more name I want to talk about.
01:05:51 You know, I'm a big fullback guy.
01:05:52 We're a big fullback podcast.
01:05:53 We do the low man trophy for the nation's top college fullback.
01:05:56 You are a voter.
01:05:57 You're on the committee for the low man trophy.
01:05:58 Oh yeah.
01:05:59 There's one person and one person only on my per my personal preseason watch list and
01:06:05 that's Hayden large from Iowa.
01:06:07 So it, you could call Iowa fullback.
01:06:10 You Wisconsin might have a claim to that too.
01:06:13 Army probably has a claim to that.
01:06:14 Um, Hayden large is six foot five, a massive fucking fullback.
01:06:20 That's insane.
01:06:21 That's insane that this guy's playing fullback.
01:06:22 Is he going to be able to get low enough to be a proper fullback because we all know low
01:06:27 man wins transfer from Dort college.
01:06:30 I'm sure you, you followed them closely over the years.
01:06:33 Now this is, but this is what I've been wondering why we don't see this more because this is
01:06:39 a tight end playing fullback essentially.
01:06:42 And no, you have people who have H backs who are essentially tight ends that will come
01:06:48 into the backfield and do some things.
01:06:50 But why not?
01:06:51 Because the fullback position has sort of been schemed out of existence in most places.
01:06:57 Why not just have your tight end body types doing that stuff?
01:07:02 Why can't the tight end every once in a while just line up in front of the tailback with
01:07:07 the quarterback under center and now you're in the eye formation.
01:07:10 Why can't you just do that?
01:07:12 And so I like I'm rooting for Hayden large because I think it will open up a new world
01:07:17 of offensive football because these guys don't want to go recruit fullbacks.
01:07:21 They don't want to, they don't have to find them.
01:07:23 They don't really exist anymore in high school football.
01:07:25 You got to find a linebacker and then move him.
01:07:28 So everybody wants to play tight end.
01:07:30 Now everybody's watching George Kittle and Kelsey and they want to, they want to do that.
01:07:34 So just make them do it.
01:07:36 They like to block for the most part.
01:07:38 Put them in a three point stance and let them lead on somebody.
01:07:42 So are you telling me that having like a giant person that weighs a lot of weight, um, blocking
01:07:47 you is more effective sometimes than having a shorter person that's very heavy?
01:07:53 Well you know, it's just sad because the leverage though.
01:07:55 Yeah, the leverage.
01:07:56 Exactly.
01:07:57 It's sad because like there's, it's almost like there's no room in college football for
01:08:00 like a five 10 guy that weighs two 70.
01:08:03 I do worry about the short Kings, but I think I still feel like there is room because like
01:08:08 there's always going to be a Mac team that has a five 10, 315 pound nose guard and he's
01:08:15 going to hit and he can bench press 550 pounds and like it's though there will always be
01:08:20 somewhere for that person to play because yes, the Georges, the Ohio States of the world,
01:08:25 they need those perfect NFL ready bodies, but everybody else like you need somebody
01:08:31 who either can block or can't be blocked.
01:08:34 And so even if you're not the prettiest package, you're, you're still, you're still useful
01:08:39 to those guys.
01:08:40 So PFT, I think the short Kings still have a place in the, in the game.
01:08:44 Glad to hear that.
01:08:45 We saw it, we saw it a year ago.
01:08:46 Like we're talking about big guys playing fullback.
01:08:48 Hunter Lepke, obviously grateful back won the award, but there was one play where Jalen
01:08:54 Carter stepped in at fullback for Georgia and just took out three guys and you're like,
01:08:59 Oh yeah, maybe just having the biggest person you can find laying blocks.
01:09:03 That's the biggest, fastest, strongest, most explosive player on your team.
01:09:07 If you're on the goal line and you would like them to knock some people over.
01:09:10 Yeah.
01:09:11 Not a bad idea.
01:09:12 I love the phrase.
01:09:13 Find someone who can block or can't be blocked.
01:09:15 Put that, put that on a, put that on a board and put it behind your office.
01:09:19 I don't want to see that in a barstool store.
01:09:20 We're going to put that in the on three store.
01:09:22 All right.
01:09:23 Last question.
01:09:24 Rowback question.
01:09:25 RHO, BACK.com promo code take 20% off your first purchase.
01:09:28 Rowback.com promo code take Q's, it's Polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts, everything.
01:09:33 Rowback.com a two part question.
01:09:35 Give me the final four.
01:09:37 And then also if you have a week zero bet that we can bet.
01:09:41 Ooh.
01:09:42 Okay.
01:09:43 So final four, I'm going to go, I'm going to go Georgia, Michigan.
01:09:53 Where am I going to see?
01:09:59 I owe my former, my former cohost, Ari Washington, a thousand bucks if USC makes the playoff.
01:10:05 But I do think they might be able to do it.
01:10:07 But no, I'm going to go Oregon.
01:10:09 I'm going to say Oregon wins the PAC 12.
01:10:12 There's PAC 12 playoff participants since 2016.
01:10:15 And then the league goes and then Alabama.
01:10:19 Okay.
01:10:20 So two teams in Georgia and Alabama play for the sec championship in Alabama doesn't win
01:10:25 it but makes the playoff.
01:10:27 So two big 10 teams, two sec teams.
01:10:29 I like that.
01:10:30 Essentially.
01:10:31 Yeah.
01:10:32 Oh yeah.
01:10:33 And then week zero pick anything you like.
01:10:35 I kind of like Notre Dame to cover really against Navy and I realize it's 20 and a half,
01:10:40 but I I'm, I'm excited to see Sam Harvin in that Notre Dame offense.
01:10:44 You in defense of that pick.
01:10:45 Cause I, Navy does feel like they always play Notre Dame close, but when you have an entire
01:10:50 off season to, to get ready for the triple option, it's different than when you schedule
01:10:54 Navy like week six.
01:10:56 Yeah.
01:10:57 You, you have a, and you have the buffer, you're, you know, you're going to Ireland.
01:11:01 So everybody's going to be all up, you know, Guinness everywhere.
01:11:06 Hopefully they don't run out of beer like they did last time.
01:11:08 Remember the, the, I guess the credit card machine stopped working.
01:11:11 So they just started giving beer away and the Nebraska fans are like, all right.
01:11:15 Yes.
01:11:16 Yes.
01:11:17 Yeah.
01:11:18 I was just in Ireland.
01:11:19 They're very excited about college football over there.
01:11:20 You can feel, I can tell.
01:11:21 I saw blue mountains at the, at the wedding reception in Ireland.
01:11:25 That's impressive.
01:11:26 It was weird cause in Ireland, obviously the Guinness is fantastic over there.
01:11:30 Drank a lot of that, but on every tap they have like Guinness, they'll have a cider and
01:11:35 then they'll have Coors Light.
01:11:37 Coors Light is like the most prevalent American beer in Ireland.
01:11:40 Taking over the world.
01:11:41 It's awesome.
01:11:42 It's cause of you guys.
01:11:43 It's, it's the billion download.
01:11:44 The mountains are green.
01:11:45 Yes.
01:11:46 Well, Andy, thank you as always.
01:11:48 We'll have you back on later on in the season.
01:11:51 You are the best.
01:11:52 I just, there was a moment there where you're talking about Ohio state, Penn state and Michigan
01:11:56 that I just got like a little like smile creeping over my face.
01:11:59 I'm like, oh yeah, we're here.
01:12:01 We're so close now.
01:12:03 We are like just days away.
01:12:06 It's going to be here.
01:12:07 Yes.
01:12:08 We have the whole thing in front of us.
01:12:09 Oh, nothing better.
01:12:11 So thank you Andy.
01:12:12 Everyone go subscribe to his podcast on the on three network and we'll talk to you soon.
01:12:18 Thanks guys.
01:12:19 See Andy.
01:12:20 Andy Staples was brought to you by the farmer's dog.
01:12:25 The results of switching your dog's food from kibble to fresh can seem like magic when a
01:12:29 senior dog starts acting like a puppy again and the pickiest of eaters can't wait for
01:12:33 dinner time.
01:12:35 You might think some spells were cast, but the farmer's dog doesn't use any sorcery.
01:12:39 They don't use secret ingredients to make their fresh food.
01:12:42 They just use science.
01:12:43 I switched Blake over to the farmer's dog just a few weeks ago.
01:12:47 I think we're in week three right now.
01:12:49 They just sent a fresh pack of food for Blake.
01:12:52 He absolutely loves it.
01:12:53 He cannot wait for breakfast time.
01:12:55 Can't wait for dinner time.
01:12:56 He eats it so fast.
01:12:58 He loves this stuff.
01:12:59 Sometimes it's hard to get him to finish his kibble with farmer's dog.
01:13:02 He sits there.
01:13:03 He's a member of the clean plate club.
01:13:05 Licks his bowl.
01:13:06 That's how good farmer's dog is.
01:13:07 It's the best option for dogs at all life stages because it's not kibble.
01:13:10 It's not canned good.
01:13:12 It's just really healthy food.
01:13:15 Traditional dry and wet dog food options are highly processed.
01:13:18 They use much lower quality ingredients than they claim to.
01:13:21 They're extremely difficult to portion accurately.
01:13:23 With the farmer's dog, they send the portions to you.
01:13:26 They tell you exactly how much your dog needs and if they're a growing pup like Blake is,
01:13:31 then they stagger it.
01:13:32 Then as he grows, they send more food.
01:13:34 They send different portions.
01:13:35 They've got it all under control.
01:13:37 The farmer's dog is awesome.
01:13:39 It gets a Blake stamp of approval.

01:13:58 And now here's Mount Rushmore of ass kickings.
01:14:01 Okay, Mount Rushmore time.
01:14:06 Let's have a good Mount Rushmore.
01:14:07 Trilogies was, it was.
01:14:08 We're going to do the Mount Rushmore of ass kickings.
01:14:13 Very open ended.
01:14:14 Who do you think won trilogies?
01:14:15 I don't know.
01:14:16 I have no idea.
01:14:17 I think the losers were the AWLs.
01:14:20 Oh, come on.
01:14:24 Ass kickings.
01:14:25 Mount Rushmore of ass kickings.
01:14:26 I have high hopes for this one.
01:14:27 I think there's some great things that we can throw out there.
01:14:31 Who goes first?
01:14:32 It's going to be me and Billy.
01:14:33 In this case, me and memes, Hank and Max, Big Cat and PFT.
01:14:36 Okay.
01:14:37 I love being last.
01:14:38 Let's go.
01:14:39 Okay.
01:14:40 Ass kickings.
01:14:41 Anything is on the table.
01:14:42 Yes.
01:14:43 With the first overall kick, pick.
01:14:44 Kick.
01:14:45 Oh, it's kick.
01:14:46 It's an ass kick.
01:14:47 Oh yeah.
01:14:48 True.
01:14:49 With the first overall pick, we're going to go with USA over England in 1776.
01:14:53 All right.
01:14:54 Okay.
01:14:55 There's some back and forth there.
01:14:56 The French helped too.
01:14:57 Yeah, but everyone on America's side, like, yeah, we crushed them.
01:15:00 We lost a lot of lives.
01:15:01 Yeah, we did.
01:15:02 A lot of good muscle balls.
01:15:03 Yeah, we kicked their ass.
01:15:04 Okay.
01:15:05 Yeah.
01:15:06 Okay.
01:15:07 From the American perspective.
01:15:08 Yeah.
01:15:09 I feel like it was a struggle, but yeah, we had to fucking sneak attack them across the
01:15:17 river.
01:15:18 Win is a win.
01:15:21 Didn't they then win the rematch 1812?
01:15:23 That was more of a stalemate.
01:15:25 Yeah.
01:15:26 All right.
01:15:27 It seems like a pander pick.
01:15:29 Who?
01:15:30 Americans.
01:15:31 Yes.
01:15:32 Yeah.
01:15:33 The people who vote on this.
01:15:34 Every pick is a pander pick to Americans.
01:15:35 Well, not really.
01:15:36 Speaking of that, we have Nazi Germany versus France.
01:15:41 I'm about to go with an anti-American pick.
01:15:45 Okay.
01:15:46 Okay.
01:15:47 Even Drago versus Apollo Creed.
01:15:49 Oh, okay.
01:15:50 That was an ass kick.
01:15:51 Yeah.
01:15:52 He literally killed him.
01:15:53 He killed him.
01:15:54 Yeah.
01:15:55 The biggest ass kick of all time.
01:15:56 Yeah.
01:15:57 I'm going to go with Apollo Creed and then Adonis Creed becomes a beast.
01:15:59 Okay.
01:16:00 Watch that movie on the plane.
01:16:01 All right.
01:16:02 Pft.
01:16:03 We have our whole board.
01:16:05 We do.
01:16:06 It's a good looking juicy board.
01:16:07 It's a good looking juicy board.
01:16:10 I kind of want to go nine and 12, but I'll hear what 9 and 11.
01:16:16 If it's your big 9 11 guy, if it's your first picks, it should just be one and two, right?
01:16:21 No, because we don't have we do.
01:16:22 Yeah.
01:16:23 We don't have one, but you should just like come in like, okay, okay, go.
01:16:27 You go nine.
01:16:28 Okay.
01:16:29 Uh, the 2000 us open Tiger Woods, Woods winning by 15 strokes.
01:16:34 That's an insane number.
01:16:37 What's great about this is it wasn't like one person kicking another guy's ass.
01:16:40 It was one person kicking everybody's ass.
01:16:42 15 strokes is such a fucking out.
01:16:46 Like that's silly.
01:16:47 He kicked the course's ass.
01:16:49 Yeah.
01:16:50 So that's our first pick.
01:16:51 What do you think about that, Max?
01:16:52 It's a good pick.
01:16:53 You should have been prepared for it right off the get.
01:16:55 I was.
01:16:58 So now we go.
01:17:01 You want to go 12 or 15?
01:17:03 Well, if we want to, uh, 12, I guess.
01:17:12 Okay.
01:17:13 Secretariat winning by 31 links at the Belmont 31 line 31.
01:17:18 That's 31 horses.
01:17:19 There was 31 horses in between him and the second horse insane to win the triple crown.
01:17:24 Best athlete of all time.
01:17:25 All time.
01:17:26 What?
01:17:27 You don't like that pick?
01:17:28 That's a good pick.
01:17:29 Why'd you give the face?
01:17:30 Explain the face.
01:17:31 We podcast is a podcast.
01:17:33 Me and Max met and we've got a lot of lists for the other two and this one we don't have
01:17:38 much.
01:17:39 Oh, that was a, your own.
01:17:40 So that wasn't a face to the pick.
01:17:41 It was a face to no.
01:17:42 Yeah.
01:17:43 That's a good trilogy.
01:17:44 She only had three.
01:17:45 No, we had, no, we had it.
01:17:46 Oh, sounds like you just did.
01:17:48 That's okay.
01:17:49 I'm you could show me.
01:17:50 I won't take, we have, we have, we have 15 selections and we have three.
01:17:53 Okay.
01:17:54 And the second one's not as good as those two, but it's great actually.
01:17:57 Uh, Hank first, the written word and spoken, um, Jason Barrett tech first a rod.
01:18:05 Oh, okay.
01:18:06 Oh, is that really an asking?
01:18:08 It was like, it was, was that the same fight where they beat up Don Zimmer?
01:18:12 I wanted to say Pedro could stand his ground.
01:18:20 That was, that was well within his rights.
01:18:22 It was a record.
01:18:23 It was not.
01:18:24 This was actually different years, but he beat the shit out of Don Zimmer.
01:18:28 The old man should not have come out of the dugout.
01:18:31 That's a fact we can all agree upon.
01:18:33 That was, that was a tough site for anyone.
01:18:36 I guess just for Yankees fans.
01:18:38 Yeah.
01:18:39 You got bodied.
01:18:40 You just got fucking smoked.
01:18:42 Watching your grandfather get beaten with a stick.
01:18:44 Yeah.
01:18:45 Like he's wearing a uniform.
01:18:46 How does Pedro supposed to know he wasn't a player?
01:18:49 Good point.
01:18:50 He looked like Blair.
01:18:51 Okay.
01:18:52 Yeah.
01:18:53 That one was uncouth.
01:18:58 Yeah.
01:18:59 Um, next we're going to go with Seahawks over Broncos in the super bowl.
01:19:05 It's the only super bowl that I can recall from my time of just being set this in Hank
01:19:11 Scott and it was a score.
01:19:12 It got me.
01:19:13 It was a score.
01:19:14 It got me.
01:19:15 It was a three day destruction.
01:19:16 I had a, I had a super bowl party and I bet a lot on the Broncos and I ended that super
01:19:19 bowl party early.
01:19:20 I, everyone get out of my house.
01:19:23 I also had the Broncos in that game.
01:19:24 It was like, this is Peyton Manning.
01:19:25 Peyton is Peyton Manning's here.
01:19:26 And this office is so good.
01:19:27 That's when he set the record.
01:19:28 Right.
01:19:29 Yeah.
01:19:30 And then the first snap of the game was a safety.
01:19:31 Yeah.
01:19:32 And it was like, well, this game's over.
01:19:33 Yep.
01:19:34 Okay.
01:19:35 So, uh, this next pick it's fictional.
01:19:38 Oh, uh, he's already saying it's a bad pick.
01:19:44 Uh, Bob Barker versus happy Gilmore.
01:19:47 Oh, that's a good one.
01:19:48 Yeah.
01:19:49 Guys.
01:19:50 Yeah.
01:19:51 But those people got some, got some licks in there.
01:19:54 What'd you say?
01:19:55 Both fighters got some licks.
01:19:56 Did happy Gilmore die?
01:19:58 Okay.
01:19:59 All right.
01:20:03 Hank Max, you have nothing left.
01:20:05 No, let's go with it.
01:20:07 Oh, I like it.
01:20:08 Go full said.
01:20:09 What's the year.
01:20:10 What's the year.
01:20:11 Uh, Georgia tech.
01:20:12 Oh yeah.
01:20:13 222 to nothing.
01:20:14 Uh, the coach said he was trying to get revenge because they lost, uh, like 19 to nothing
01:20:23 in a baseball game, which apparently he coached the baseball team too.
01:20:27 So it was a football revenge for a baseball game.
01:20:29 The previous spring.
01:20:31 What's your favorite memory from that game?
01:20:32 Uh, probably like the 17th or 18th touchdown.
01:20:36 Cumberland college had negative 96 rushing yards and negative 82 total yards.
01:20:42 Do they count sacks and negative rushing yards?
01:20:44 Is that why?
01:20:45 Uh, because if not, they didn't count sacks back then.
01:20:48 Yeah.
01:20:49 But that's what I'm saying.
01:20:50 Like a sack would count then as Georgia tech also had zero passing yards.
01:20:54 Every they didn't throw the ball one time.
01:20:56 That is nasty.
01:20:57 That is nasty.
01:20:58 Okay.
01:20:59 Uh, we have our last two picks.
01:21:01 Should we go 1415?
01:21:05 What's the one you said we're never going to pick?
01:21:06 Go.
01:21:07 You still have it.
01:21:08 No, no, no, no.
01:21:09 Big cat.
01:21:10 We should go 15 one.
01:21:11 Okay.
01:21:12 All right.
01:21:13 Great.
01:21:14 Yeah.
01:21:15 All right.
01:21:16 So I'll do 15.
01:21:17 Yeah.
01:21:18 All right.
01:21:19 Nolan Ryan versus Robin Ventura.
01:21:20 Ask Nolan Ryan, the old man.
01:21:21 He was what?
01:21:22 Like 40 something like that.
01:21:23 Robin Ventura was a spry, like young twenties, much bigger than Nolan Ryan and Nolan brought
01:21:26 Nolan Ryan just grabbed him in a headlock and beat the shit out of him.
01:21:30 It was great.
01:21:31 Um, all right.
01:21:32 And the one that we're known as going to pick, but I do actually think it is a one, one ass
01:21:36 kicking.
01:21:37 Uh, it is Trump and the Republican debates.
01:21:39 Trump first, all the other Republicans.
01:21:41 We were picking all smoking smoke.
01:21:45 And he was like, low T Jeb.
01:21:47 He was like, Jeb, you're gay.
01:21:50 Chris Christie, you're gay.
01:21:52 And you're gay and small.
01:21:54 And there's a woman here who cares.
01:21:57 Disgusting you guys would use Trump to try and get votes.
01:21:59 No, I mean, that was last year.
01:22:00 It was not an ass kicking.
01:22:02 It was an ass kicking.
01:22:03 It was the definition of an ass kicking.
01:22:06 Take everything out.
01:22:08 What he did to the other Republicans.
01:22:10 He ended all their careers.
01:22:11 Yeah.
01:22:12 Uh, Ted Cruz, your wife's ugly.
01:22:13 Yeah.
01:22:14 You're short.
01:22:15 Yeah.
01:22:16 Ted Cruz, your dad killed Jeff.
01:22:17 Yeah.
01:22:18 Marco Rubio has got a small penis.
01:22:21 I don't know.
01:22:22 Tiny, tiny, tiny school bullied them all.
01:22:26 It was a total ass kicking.
01:22:28 You don't agree, Hank.
01:22:29 No, it was.
01:22:30 It's good.
01:22:31 Annihilation.
01:22:32 It's kicking.
01:22:33 Okay.
01:22:34 It's us.
01:22:35 Yeah, I think so.
01:22:36 I mean, are you stalling or you don't know if it's you?
01:22:41 This is big time getting called in class energy.
01:22:44 Like what?
01:22:45 No, I never hand raised.
01:22:48 I would say, uh, this Mount Rushmore verse Hank and Max.
01:22:52 Okay, come on.
01:22:54 We're going to go.
01:22:55 Any other ones?
01:22:56 Yeah.
01:22:57 I mean this one, I'm surprised no one else took this.
01:22:59 Um, what are we going with Villanova versus Oklahoma in the final four?
01:23:05 Oh yeah.
01:23:06 Who could forget?
01:23:07 I was there.
01:23:08 We were there to kicking.
01:23:09 Oh, you guys were there.
01:23:10 Yeah.
01:23:11 Where were you?
01:23:12 Yeah.
01:23:13 It was an ass kicking.
01:23:14 We were the biggest blowout in final four history.
01:23:15 I think.
01:23:16 No, we were in the hotel room.
01:23:17 Okay.
01:23:18 We went to the final in San Antonio.
01:23:19 Also, after.
01:23:20 And that was also a blowout.
01:23:22 And then I left early.
01:23:24 No, it's a good not play you in Michigan.
01:23:26 It played Michigan.
01:23:27 So you're thinking of 2013, this is 2016.
01:23:30 So we weren't there.
01:23:31 Nope.
01:23:32 I, we were, I was in twenties.
01:23:34 I was there.
01:23:35 2016 with Houston.
01:23:36 I was there.
01:23:37 What was, what was the one?
01:23:40 I was there with Caleb.
01:23:41 Michigan was 2013.
01:23:42 I was at that game.
01:23:43 Don't remember.
01:23:44 You think of San Antonio when we left at halftime?
01:23:45 I met, uh, Villanova beat Oklahoma by 44 points.
01:23:49 In what year?
01:23:50 2016.
01:23:51 Yeah.
01:23:52 Right.
01:23:53 And well, which was, I think I'm thinking of Villanova also won it all in 2018.
01:23:55 They covered every spread by over 10 points.
01:23:57 You're thinking of 2018.
01:23:58 So that was Loyola and Michigan was there too.
01:24:00 Everyone remembers 2016.
01:24:01 Okay.
01:24:02 Yeah.
01:24:03 2018.
01:24:04 That was where Deevin Chinzo went.
01:24:05 Such a good pick.
01:24:06 We can't figure out the year.
01:24:07 Okay.
01:24:08 I knew that.
01:24:09 I know you're a Villanova fan.
01:24:10 Villanova's kicked a lot of ass.
01:24:11 All right.
01:24:12 So you guys, a semifinal game.
01:24:15 Final four.
01:24:16 Jake, what was the stat you said?
01:24:17 What is that now?
01:24:18 The semifinals?
01:24:19 I think it was a big blowout in a final four.
01:24:20 Got it.
01:24:21 Final four is a pretty big sporting event.
01:24:22 Been a lot of, you know, a lot of teams.
01:24:23 We had another college basketball game that was saying honorable mentions.
01:24:26 Okay.
01:24:27 I bet you what it is.
01:24:28 Okay.
01:24:29 Also not a final.
01:24:30 Oh, fuck.
01:24:31 Something that people would remember more.
01:24:35 I know what you're thinking.
01:24:36 Let's finish the picks.
01:24:39 We're going to go with Joey Chestnut in every Nathan's hot dog eating contest.
01:24:43 Except for the one he lost.
01:24:45 So you're picking the one he lost as well.
01:24:46 No.
01:24:47 He lost multiple ones.
01:24:48 Yeah.
01:24:49 You can't say every.
01:24:50 You can't say every one.
01:24:51 If he lost a cup.
01:24:52 Okay.
01:24:53 2021 world record 76.

01:27:11 Max versus happiness.
01:27:12 Max versus first place.
01:27:15 That sounded personal.
01:27:16 Max was very happy the night before the Super Bowl.
01:27:17 That's true.
01:27:18 He was.
01:27:19 Jake, good point.
01:27:20 Good point.
01:27:22 All of us versus happiness, really.
01:27:23 Except Hank.
01:27:25 Pretty much everyone versus happiness.
01:27:27 Sports happiness.
01:27:28 It's an ass kicking every single year.
01:27:29 That's okay.
01:27:31 Okay.
01:27:33 Oh, also, what was the year?
01:27:34 Was it the Lakers one year only lost once?
01:27:38 In one of the Shaq Kobe years.
01:27:39 Oh, I was going to.
01:27:40 The Pistons versus the Lakers.
01:27:42 Yeah.
01:27:44 The Pistons kicked their ass in the finals.
01:27:45 That was the gentlemen's sweep, right?
01:27:46 Yeah.
01:27:47 Yeah.
01:27:48 The Lakers versus the Nuggets this year, but the Lakers kicked the Nuggets ass if you didn't
01:27:49 count the games.
01:27:50 Yep.
01:27:51 All right.
01:27:52 Good Mount Rushmore.

01:29:32 So I'm going to be looking at some El Caminos
01:29:34 and I'm going to drive it past Hank's house.
01:29:36 I'm going to roll coal on Hank with my El Camino.
01:29:38 It's going to be so bitchin'.

01:29:48 Okay.
01:29:51 Let's wrap up the show with a little fire fest.
01:29:53 Big week of guests coming next week.
01:29:57 We got some work we got to do tomorrow.
01:30:00 And I think we're going to have our good friend Tom Franelli
01:30:01 stop in studio at some point next week.
01:30:03 Very excited about that.
01:30:05 College football.
01:30:07 What?
01:30:09 That's awesome.
01:30:11 Yeah, you and Tom in the same room.
01:30:13 Why do we need Tom if we got Hank?
01:30:15 Yeah, I might not be there that day.
01:30:17 Okay.
01:30:19 Interesting.
01:30:21 Okay, Hank, fire fest.
01:30:23 Yeah, I alluded to this earlier,
01:30:25 but this is really just a testament to our friend
01:30:27 Paul Bissonette just being a great guy
01:30:29 and we're going to have a much bigger fire fest.
01:30:30 Was out after the awards at a bar.
01:30:32 Was in a lift.
01:30:34 Came back to the hotel.
01:30:36 Biz and Grinnell were hanging out,
01:30:38 steaming some lettuce, yapping it up.
01:30:40 Vitamins?
01:30:42 Got out of the lift.
01:30:44 Got out of the lift and was chatting it up with them
01:30:46 and they're like, "Oh, Biz was like,
01:30:48 there's a bar down the street."
01:30:50 So we were about to go and then I realized
01:30:52 I left my phone in the lift.
01:30:54 And I was like, "Fuck, I think I'm going to go
01:30:56 get my laptop and log in there to try and get it back."
01:30:58 It's a young Hank move.
01:30:59 And Grinnell and Biz were like,
01:31:01 "No, we'll call it, we'll call it,
01:31:03 we'll get it back, we'll wait for it."
01:31:05 And they called a few times, didn't answer.
01:31:07 And Biz was like, "I'm going to go to bed."
01:31:09 And he went upstairs.
01:31:11 Finally, Grinnell, last call,
01:31:13 the guy answers, comes back,
01:31:15 gave him some cash, got my phone back.
01:31:17 So it wasn't too bad of a situation.
01:31:19 Could have been a lot worse.
01:31:21 But an hour later in my hotel,
01:31:23 Biz kept calling.
01:31:25 Just as a guest.
01:31:27 Just as a guy to try and help me get my phone back.
01:31:29 So he called and I was like, "Hello?"
01:31:31 He's like, "Oh, you got it back."
01:31:33 I was like, "Yeah."
01:31:35 I was like, "Thanks, Biz."
01:31:37 It was just a very, very nice thing to do.
01:31:39 - Ride or die.
01:31:41 - You think Biz forgot that you got your phone back?
01:31:43 - No, he didn't know.
01:31:45 He went upstairs.
01:31:47 So he was like, "All right, good night, good luck."
01:31:49 Went upstairs and then Grinnell,
01:31:51 literally as we're walking to the hotel,
01:31:53 we were going to the elevators,
01:31:56 so Biz was just sitting in his hotel room
01:31:57 at 1 a.m. just trying to help me get my phone back.
01:32:00 Just class act, class guy.
01:32:03 - That's huge.
01:32:05 He didn't have to do that.
01:32:07 - He didn't.
01:32:09 When I got the call, it was like an hour and a half later.
01:32:11 I was like, "Hello?"
01:32:13 He's like, "Oh, you got it back."
01:32:15 I was just trying to reach the guy.
01:32:17 - What a move.
01:32:19 - I was like, "Thanks, Biz.
01:32:21 You're the man."
01:32:23 - Yeah, good guy.
01:32:25 - Yeah, very excited about that.
01:32:26 - We just did it.
01:32:28 Let's put out that whole clip.
01:32:30 - All right, PFT.
01:32:34 - My Fyre Fest of the week,
01:32:36 it goes back to last Saturday.
01:32:38 So last Saturday,
01:32:40 went over to Hank's apartment,
01:32:45 which is wonderful, condo, excuse me,
01:32:47 overlooks Lake Michigan,
01:32:49 and they had the Aaron Water Show in Chicago,
01:32:51 which was a blast.
01:32:54 It was fucking awesome.
01:32:55 The planes were incredible.
01:32:57 It was bad.
01:32:59 It's bad.
01:33:01 I'm just out there on the balcony
01:33:03 like a two-year-old watching these planes,
01:33:05 like a two-year-old that sees a fire truck
01:33:07 going down the street.
01:33:09 That was me for like two hours,
01:33:11 just cheering for the planes.
01:33:13 I was like, "Let's fucking go, planes, yes."
01:33:15 Take a video,
01:33:17 and I wanted to share the video on social media.
01:33:19 The video was one of the coolest parts of the show,
01:33:21 where the planes flew past Hank's condo,
01:33:23 and the planes flew away.
01:33:24 I put out the video,
01:33:26 and I was maybe flexing a little bit
01:33:28 of my plane knowledge at the time.
01:33:30 - Trying to flex.
01:33:32 - Trying to flex, and I said,
01:33:34 "Look at these sweet third-generation
01:33:36 "air-to-air and air-to-ground
01:33:38 "dual-use combat third-generation F-18 Hornets.
01:33:41 "How awesome is that?"
01:33:43 - That's obnoxious.
01:33:45 - About 30 seconds later,
01:33:47 I realized that those were not F-18 Hornets at all,
01:33:49 and they were the F-16 Eagles.
01:33:52 They don't even look alike at all.
01:33:53 One is dual-engine, one is single-engine.
01:33:55 The wings look completely different.
01:33:57 It was a rookie mistake,
01:33:59 and I've just been exposed for being a plane fraud,
01:34:02 and I feel, I mean, what else can I say?
01:34:05 I'm a fucking fraud.
01:34:07 If I can't tell the difference between F-16 and F-18,
01:34:09 plane Twitter was very, very upset with me,
01:34:11 saying, "I don't know, ball."
01:34:13 - It was like day one stuff.
01:34:15 - It was day one, it is.
01:34:17 It's day zero.
01:34:19 - You learn that in flight school, yeah.
01:34:21 - And so I just, I gotta start training for next year's
01:34:23 Aaron Watershow so I don't make the same rookie mistake again,
01:34:25 because it's fucking embarrassing.
01:34:27 - That is. - It really is.
01:34:29 - That's super embarrassing.
01:34:31 - It'd be like if I had a picture of a football,
01:34:33 and it had the white stripes on it,
01:34:35 and I was like, "Look at this authentic,
01:34:37 "game-used NFL football."
01:34:39 People would be like, "Yo, bro, that's college football."
01:34:41 That's big of a mistake.
01:34:43 - You should just not admit defeat,
01:34:45 and just argue with everyone.
01:34:47 What's that guy's name, Stephen Ruiz,
01:34:50 Mitchell Schwartz, about coverage,
01:34:51 about protection? - Yeah.
01:34:53 - He's like, "You're literally arguing with a guy
01:34:55 "who played for the Kansas City Chiefs
01:34:57 "and won a Super Bowl?
01:34:59 "Just keep going." - Yeah, just double down on it.
01:35:01 - "You don't know what you're talking about."
01:35:03 - Actually, that's the brand new F-18 Z Hornet
01:35:05 that you probably haven't even seen yet,
01:35:07 but only I've seen it.
01:35:09 - Some 20-year military vets, like, "You're wrong, PFT."
01:35:11 Like, "No, you're wrong, what would you know?
01:35:13 "I watched the tape."
01:35:15 - Yeah, it was just a real, it was a humbling moment,
01:35:17 especially for me.
01:35:19 I'm a complete and utter fraud when it comes,
01:35:20 I own both of those planes, by the way.
01:35:22 - It was a day-ruiner. - It was a day-ruiner.
01:35:24 I sat down and I was like, "Oh, no, what have I done?"
01:35:26 So, yeah, I'm a fraud, I'm a plain fraud.
01:35:28 - Yeah, all right, mine goes back
01:35:30 to what we were talking about with us dressing up.
01:35:32 We were here for the awards show.
01:35:34 I ordered a suit MB, who does a great job for us,
01:35:36 she's the best, asked for my suit measurements.
01:35:38 I'm a 38-year-old man who doesn't know
01:35:40 his suit measurements, so I guessed on the way
01:35:42 to the awards show, I was like,
01:35:44 "I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:35:46 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:35:48 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:35:49 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:35:51 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:35:53 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:35:55 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:35:57 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:35:59 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:36:01 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:36:03 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:36:05 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:36:08 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:36:30 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:36:52 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:37:14 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:37:38 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:38:07 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:38:19 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:38:48 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:38:59 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:39:25 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:39:35 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:39:59 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:40:21 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:40:42 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:41:03 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:41:13 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
01:41:25 "and I'm gonna get a suit MB, and I'm gonna get a suit MB,
