00:00 Following the news that the Drew Barrymore show will be returning despite the WGA still being on strike,
00:05 the Jennifer Hudson show, The Talk, and Real Time with Bill Maher are all set to resume.
00:10 The Jennifer Hudson show is promoting its second season, which is slated to begin on September 18th.
00:16 CBS's The Talk is also set to resume taping on September 18th.
00:20 Both shows had signed to the Writers Guild a minimum basic agreement and went dark in May when the strike began.
00:27 Bill Maher also announced that his show, Real Time with Bill Maher, would be returning soon as well.
00:32 He posted on X saying, "The writers have important issues that I sympathize with and hope they are addressed to their satisfaction,
00:38 but they are not the only people with issues, problems, and concerns."
00:42 He continued saying, "I love my writers, I am one of them,
00:46 but I'm not prepared to lose an entire year and see so many below the line people suffer so much."
00:51 The WGA pointed out that Maher is a WGA member and is obligated to follow the strike rules,
00:57 and they will be picketing his show as a result.
01:00 The View is also taking a lot of heat as they simply continued airing episodes without their WGA writers once the strike began.
01:08 Whoopi Goldberg defended the decision, saying the show is mostly unscripted.
01:12 Sasha Stewart of the Writers Guild East responded saying,
01:15 "It's incredibly frustrating to see our work and our labor devalued so much and effectively hidden.
01:21 I don't know who they're having do all the work, but somebody has to do it.
