00:00 It's totally unique. There's nothing out there like this at the moment. So I think if you're
00:05 into immersive experiences and if you're into gaming and if you're into fun and into team
00:11 building and just having a laugh with your mates or your family, then I really do think
00:16 that you would absolutely love this.
00:19 A completely unique go-karting experience has recently launched in Manchester. Chaos
00:24 Karts is a brand new virtual reality activity which will have friends and family going
00:29 head to head to see who can score the most points and walk away victorious.
00:34 Located in spinning fields just next door to the Science and Industry Museum, the immersive
00:39 experience is another addition to Manchester's thriving entertainment scene.
00:44 Race your friends on several themed tracks, picking up bombs and various weapons to try
00:48 and sabotage the other players. And make sure you pick up gems to build your score and win
00:53 the game.
00:54 The customer drives a real go-kart around a real space, but all of the tracks and all
01:03 the environment is digitally projected.
01:05 The unique part of what Chaos Karts offers is that you get to engage with the other drivers.
01:12 You can pick up power-ups, you can pick up weapons, you can shoot the other drivers,
01:17 you get points for shooting at them and hitting them, and you can pick up gems which also
01:22 give you points. So it's unlike traditional karting which tends to be focused on speed
01:28 and getting around the track as fast as possible, ours is much more geared up towards collecting
01:35 points. So it's much more of a game rather than a race.
01:40 We knew that we'd hit upon something special. Generally I think people are like, "Oh,
01:44 do I have to wear a VR headset?" No. It's like, "Oh, do I have to, can I actually
01:49 shoot other people?" Yes. And it takes them a few minutes to go, "Wow, I'm actually
01:55 immersed in this environment that you've created, but I'm interacting with the other
01:59 players in a way that I didn't think I'd be able to." So a lot of people are coming
02:03 away saying, "Wow, that was brilliant."
02:05 When you enter into the building, we wanted people to start to feel part of our world.
02:11 So we've tried to keep it somewhere in the realm of 1980s video arcade, lots of neons,
02:20 some old school video arcade games you could play. There's a little Instagram moment,
02:24 a cart you can sit in. There are six tracks in total. We've tried to come up with tracks
02:30 that are visually quite different. So without giving too much away, we've got one set in
02:36 a desert. We've got one set in a beach environment and one set in a galaxy far away. Because
02:43 it's all digitally projected, we can control what the look and feel of each track is. And
02:49 we've already got a roadmap of development to produce new, different, interesting tracks.
02:54 And that's the beauty of the system. It's because it's all digital, you can create new
02:58 content. Really, there is no limit to what we can, the environments that we can produce.
