01:48 Now to our list, our stocks to watch for today. We've got a good important list for you here.
01:56 One is Arm Holdings, the big news of the day, a big IPO with ticker ARM. Number two, we've
02:03 got Semtec Corporation with ticker SMTC. Number three is Adobe with ticker ADBE. Stock to
02:11 watch number four is Exxon Mobil ticker XOM. We've got a bonus with Chevron Corp ticker
02:18 CVX. Also number five, we've got Microsoft ticker MSFT. Starting with Arm Holdings, big
02:27 news of the day. I think a lot of people, a lot, a lot of people are watching some of
02:32 the most important thing to be watching in the markets right now. Arm Holdings IPO is
02:37 today pricing their IPO at $51 a share at the top of the range. And AMR is already a
02:43 buy with some analysts. There's a lot of, maybe not even hype. It might just be a genuine
02:55 good enthusiasm. I know we talk about hype a lot. We talk a lot about how the markets
03:00 can overestimate things. This is at least anecdotally from some of the research I've
03:06 looked into from some, seems like more, it's maybe not as much hype as some genuine enthusiasm,
03:13 some genuine value coming in here for Arm Holdings. Definitely the big ticker to be
03:18 looking at today. It'll be very interesting to watch what happens if it sticks near its
03:23 IPO price. We've had a couple of years now almost, it feels like maybe, maybe one year,
03:28 maybe a six months. I don't know, but it feels like it's been a long time. We've had a lot
03:32 of POs that then tend to not do so well in the months after. It's been a tough couple
03:38 of market years for IPOs. Arm could be one of the ones turning things around. You might
03:45 see more IPOs, especially if Arm does well in the coming months, 100% stock to watch.
03:52 Stock to watch number two, we've got Semcorporation, that's ticker SMC, reporting some upbeat earnings
03:58 for the second quarter, but issuing a weak forecast for the third quarter, shares falling
04:04 a little over 5% after hours yesterday in response. This is another one of those ones
04:10 we've talked about it at least a couple of times a week for the last couple of weeks,
04:14 where even with beating numbers, even with doing pretty well on the raw numerical side
04:21 of earnings, companies can get punished in this current market if forecasts are not looking
04:25 great, if the expectations aren't looking great. But a little bit of a turnaround this
04:29 morning with a big move back up, restoring some of the losses from yesterday, we're back
04:36 up to over $24, big pre-market, 7% upward. So maybe we're out of it. Maybe we're out
04:44 of the zone of big expectations for forecasts and for what things are looking for next quarter.
04:52 Overall, markets looking pretty good on Semtec. It's recovered its stance from the sell side
04:58 yesterday, folks selling it off on the forecast and now buying it back today afterwards. So
05:06 maybe we see some profit taking yesterday. Maybe we saw a bit of an overreaction to the
05:10 news. At least the markets are saying, buy Semtec this morning after just last night
05:16 it was being sold off.
05:17 Stock to watch number three, we've got Adobe, that's sticker ADBE, one of the big technology
05:25 names. If you've ever opened a PDF, you know who we're talking about. They've reported
05:30 earned $3.98 per share on revenue of $4.87 billion for the latest quarter. That's the
05:38 estimate consensus. At least the company will be releasing earnings after market close today.
05:44 Definitely one to be tuned to if you're a shareholder or if you are in the technology
05:47 industry at all, or even looking at some of the top names in the industry.
05:52 Adobe shares were up a little bit after hours yesterday, settling around the 5.55 mark.
05:58 Now we see down a bit back below that, just a bit on the day, a little bit of a dip before
06:04 earnings, but definitely one to be tuning into today if you have the time. And if you're
06:09 going to be listening into earnings today, Adobe right at the top of that list for you.
06:14 Stock to watch number four, we've got Exxon Mobil, that's ticker XOM, with bonus ticker
06:20 Chevron Corporation, CBX. And this is a bit of news on a $10 billion sale of a US oil
06:29 and gas player exploring a sale. Texas billionaire Timothy Dunn is backing it. Notably, Exxon
06:36 Mobil and Chevron are expected to be approached. They gauge their interest in the potential
06:41 acquisition of Crown Rock. Crude is at a 10-month high, OPEC forecasts indicating a sharp drop
06:47 in world oil inventories, with a projected decline of around 3.3 million barrels per
06:53 day in the next three months, potentially the largest since 2007. This is kind of a
06:59 crazy market for oil stocks right now for a lot of the players. Very recently, we've
07:05 seen some movement. Things were kind of cooled down after the big movements in commodities,
07:10 especially oil. Post-COVID, we had big downward moves, now big upward moves. And then things
07:15 were kind of settling around, nothing crazy going on. Now we're getting into a hot oil
07:21 market and a hot M&A market. Definitely tickers to watch here, seeing who makes a move in
07:27 M&A deals, trying to consolidate. If the commodities price of crude keeps going up, if OPEC is
07:33 actually right, we get big drops in production and distribution. Could be a very important,
07:40 very interesting story to watch. Gas prices as well, if OPEC has their way.
07:47 In stock to watch number five, we've got Microsoft, that sticker MSFT. And this is actually kind
07:52 of an Elon Musk thing. During a virtual appearance at the All In Summit, Elon Musk again expressed
07:59 concerns regarding Microsoft's significant control over open AI, prompting questions
08:05 about the potential consequences for chat GPT's parents' future. Microsoft having a
08:12 controlling element in open AI. Fair comments from Musk, I would argue. We've seen different
08:21 companies such as Google, but at the same time, Tesla and other companies as well, using
08:27 their AIs to do more than maybe just the initial ideation for what they were used for. In the
08:34 news recently has been Tesla's Dojo AI, originally training on huge amounts of its self-driving
08:40 car data could be used for many other purposes. We've had analysts talking about it, talking
08:46 about how it could be used for a host of different things, including defense. And I think some
08:52 pretty reasonable concerns over open AI as well. The company that made chat GPT, what
08:59 it is made it scratch. One of the most talked about AI tools in the world. And if Microsoft
09:07 ends up swallowing up open AI, I think that's what Elon is concerned about. Definitely a
09:12 story to watch here as we see a continued competition between all of the biggest technology
09:19 names in the AI realm. All right, we're gonna go back over our list, get you out to your
09:25 trading day. Again, sponsored today by Vantage Point. Check out www.freestockcoaching.com.
09:34 Stock to watch number one was ARM, ticker A-R-M, ARM Holdings. Again, just reiterate
09:42 big I, check out ARM. Number two, we had the Semtec Corporation, that's ticker S-M-T-C.
09:48 Stock to watch number three was Adobe, ticker A-D-B-E. Number four was Exxon Mobil Corporation
09:56 with bonus Chevron Corporation, tickers X-O-M and C-V-X. Stock to watch number five was
10:02 Microsoft with ticker M-S-F-T. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday and we will catch
10:09 you tomorrow.
