00:00 The Romanian defence ministry has begun building shelters along parts of the border with Ukraine
00:06 after the area was showered with debris from Russian drones.
00:10 Residents in eight villages on the Danube Delta have been advised to go to the concrete
00:14 bunkers if warned by the authorities.
00:16 "It is 1.5 meters high, so the residents should be in a sitting position to be able to have
00:30 a place here.
00:31 It is about 10 meters long and these sand bags are specially placed here to absorb the
00:40 shock in case of an explosion."
00:47 Two such bunkers have been set up in a Romanian village near the Ukrainian border.
00:51 Officials say they can't guarantee people's safety if they stay at home.
00:56 "We are talking about safe areas that are much safer than houses of war.
01:01 These are concrete areas that will be protected and people can stay there for an hour or two
01:13 until the air alarm goes off."
01:14 A third incident involving Russian drones occurred recently.
01:15 This time a helicopter from the Romanian Air Force conducted a reconnaissance and identification
01:19 mission.
01:20 Debris was found more than 20 kilometres away from the Ukrainian border, as our correspondent
01:25 from Euronews Romania reports.
01:28 "We have found many pieces of debris, very small, that look like they are made of carbon
01:35 fiber, not far from this pit, from the place where the piece of debris fell."
01:46 The drones found were not detected by radars.
01:48 An initial report from the Ministry of Defence shows no evidence Romania, a NATO member country,
01:53 was intentionally attacked in any of the incidents.
