A toddler comforted her mother suffering from morning sickness and patted her on the back.

Katherine Hagen, 32, was pregnant with her second child when her daughter, Rosie Hagen, 2, came to comfort her.

A video shows young Rosie patting her mum on her back and saying "It's OK, it's OK."

Katherine had bad morning sickness throughout her pregnancy and Rosie took to comforting her whenever she could.

Katherine, a procurement agent from St Louis, Missouri, USA said: "Rosie has got used to me being sick so she comes in to comfort me all the time.

"Whenever I go into the bathroom she'll come in to rub my back like in the video."

Rosie learned to do this from Katherine, who does the same thing when Rosie isn't feeling well, and even sometimes pretends to puke, just like her mum.

Katherine is very proud of her daughter for showing so much empathy and emotional maturity.

Katherine said: "She's mirroring what I do when I comfort her, she goes to the bathroom to pretend to be sick so I can rub her back as well.

"It feels really good to have her say this, seeing everyone's feedback is great It really makes me proud to see her being so compassionate."
