00:00:35 - I want to challenge you tonight in the book of Daniel
00:00:39 and that is where I have the theological narrative
00:00:43 from which to glean certain truth.
00:00:47 But I want to pull you into theological philosophy also
00:00:51 and see can I connect both together in 2 Corinthians.
00:00:56 As you're finding Daniel chapter three,
00:01:00 we're going to look at verse 13
00:01:03 and then 16 through 19.
00:01:05 I will not ask you to stand tonight,
00:01:09 but we will look at this and then we will read
00:01:11 in Corinthians and look at about verse seven to verse 10.
00:01:15 Daniel chapter three verse 13,
00:01:22 "Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury
00:01:25 "commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
00:01:29 "Then they brought these men before the king."
00:01:32 Of course the king then says to them,
00:01:34 "Is it true that you did not bow?
00:01:37 "You won't serve my gods,
00:01:39 "neither the image that I set up."
00:01:41 And he says, "But I'll give you another chance.
00:01:43 "You know, I'll give you another chance.
00:01:47 "And I want to know about this god
00:01:49 "who can deliver you out of my hands,
00:01:51 "but I'll give you another chance."
00:01:53 So Shadrach, Meshach, and 16 and Abednego
00:01:55 answered and said to the king,
00:01:57 "O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful.
00:02:00 "We are not careful to answer thee in this manner."
00:02:04 And then they said, "If it be so, if it be so."
00:02:09 Somebody say, "If it be so."
00:02:12 - If it be so.
00:02:13 - "Our God whom we serve is able
00:02:16 "to deliver us from the burning fire of fervor."
00:02:22 Now if you came to me and I was laying on a sickbed
00:02:24 and you told me God was able,
00:02:27 you would have told me anything I didn't know.
00:02:31 I know he's able.
00:02:33 What I need you to tell me is will he?
00:02:36 (audience laughing)
00:02:39 Amen, it's not a prophetic word to tell me he's able.
00:02:44 But now will he?
00:02:45 And he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
00:02:52 Deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
00:02:55 But if not,
00:02:59 we will not serve thy gods nor worship the golden image
00:03:09 which thou hast set up.
00:03:11 Now notice how he's changed from 13 to 19.
00:03:15 In 13 he was in his rage and fury.
00:03:17 In 19 he was full of fury.
00:03:19 Full of fury.
00:03:20 And the form of his visage was changed
00:03:24 against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
00:03:26 Therefore he spake and commanded
00:03:27 that they should heat the furnace
00:03:30 one seven times more than it want to be heated.
00:03:34 Interesting.
00:03:37 Second Corinthians chapter 12.
00:03:40 And the book of Corinthians, the first book,
00:03:45 Paul was just so horrific in his attitude.
00:03:49 I mean he whipped the church just so tremendously
00:03:53 until the Judaizers took advantage of it
00:03:55 and began to teach the people anti-Paul messages.
00:03:59 So the second Corinthians, now Paul is very concerned
00:04:05 about the attitude of the Corinthian people against him.
00:04:08 And he becomes very personal as he begins
00:04:11 to deal with people he loves who now have turned against him.
00:04:15 Then he begins to open up his own visions
00:04:19 and in verse seven he points out now,
00:04:22 now notice now the people are against him.
00:04:25 And because the people are against him,
00:04:26 God has taken him into a deeper revelatory experience.
00:04:31 And because God takes him into a deeper
00:04:33 revelatory experience, now Satan buffets him.
00:04:38 The people are against him, the devil's after him.
00:04:42 And God won't do what he says.
00:04:45 He says now in seven, and lest I should be exalted
00:04:51 above measure through the abundance of the revelations,
00:04:55 there was given to me a thorn in the flesh,
00:04:59 the messenger of Satan to buffet me.
00:05:02 Lest I should be exalted above measure.
00:05:04 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice.
00:05:08 That it might depart from me.
00:05:11 And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee.
00:05:16 My strength is made perfect in weakness.
00:05:21 Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities.
00:05:28 That the power of Christ may rest upon me.
00:05:32 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities,
00:05:34 in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions,
00:05:36 in distresses, for Christ's sake.
00:05:39 For when I am weak then am I strong.
00:05:42 From Daniel, let's take the subject from Daniel tonight.
00:05:50 Look at your neighbor and say everybody needs.
00:05:53 - Everybody needs.
00:05:55 - An if not clause.
00:05:56 - An if not clause.
00:05:59 - Yes.
00:05:59 Look at somebody and say what if not.
00:06:03 - What if not.
00:06:05 - Mm-hmm.
00:06:06 I already know I'm in trouble tonight.
00:06:11 But I don't mind I guess.
00:06:13 Sitting in service a while ago and just listening
00:06:19 to the Evangelist Crawford when she got up
00:06:22 and hearing the testimony of the blessed
00:06:27 financial deliverance that God sent.
00:06:33 I sat right in the seat and I got two pictures,
00:06:37 two very different pictures.
00:06:39 Because when the Evangelist got up she spoke about
00:06:45 that precious child of God who wanted to be here tonight.
00:06:49 Sick with cancer.
00:06:53 And I speak this word to her tonight
00:06:56 if she ever gets this tape.
00:07:00 She couldn't make it here because on her way here
00:07:04 she got sick.
00:07:05 She had to go back home.
00:07:08 On the other hand as I was coming to church in the car
00:07:14 I heard the tremendous blessing that God bestowed
00:07:18 on another one of his children.
00:07:22 Now notice now both of them are the children of God,
00:07:27 both of them saved.
00:07:30 One has an enormous testimony of what God did financially
00:07:34 and the other couldn't get to church because she was sick.
00:07:39 I wonder how many of us in here ever came to the Lord
00:07:52 looking for his grace to be saved.
00:07:55 Now, his grace is sufficient.
00:07:58 I wonder how many people in here who have served the Lord
00:08:07 these many years without a husband and have been praying
00:08:11 desperately for God to send a maid because they have
00:08:16 become very lonely and need somebody to live with.
00:08:22 Of course I want somebody to say, "I got many offers
00:08:26 "but I won't take any because I'm looking for that ideal
00:08:29 "righteous man."
00:08:31 You've touched a degree, you've sat in front of the prophets
00:08:36 you've expected miracle statements to lift your faith
00:08:40 and to keep you.
00:08:41 I wonder how you would receive it if after you had prayed
00:08:46 these five or six years if the Lord was simply to say to you
00:08:50 "I'm not going to give you a husband but my grace
00:08:54 "is sufficient."
00:08:57 Can I take my time tonight?
00:09:03 I might not hope too much.
00:09:05 I wonder how many of us have aspired to great wealth
00:09:11 and of course how many of us have prayed and believed God
00:09:17 and we have given in our tithing and we have given in every
00:09:22 offering and we haven't missed any.
00:09:25 We have been extraordinarily benevolent to others
00:09:27 with whatever we have and we have sold into the kingdom
00:09:31 of God believing and trusting God to turn our financial
00:09:35 state around.
00:09:37 There are some of us who are sitting here tonight
00:09:41 who have, tell them you're all right, you're in church.
00:09:44 Tell them don't worry about you.
00:09:47 There are some of us who have been extraordinarily faithful
00:09:52 and we have done those things that we knew to do
00:09:56 and we have followed everything that we have been told
00:10:00 and yet still just this week we found ourselves
00:10:05 with another financial crisis and another situation
00:10:09 and we're beginning to wonder now where is God
00:10:12 in all of this because I've done my piece
00:10:15 and it's been marketed from the pulpit
00:10:18 and been solicited and have been declared.
00:10:22 I wonder what would happen if after all of that
00:10:27 we were to go before God and in laying out in front of him
00:10:32 in another crisis he'd say to you,
00:10:35 you will never be a millionaire but my grace is sufficient.
00:10:45 We have prayed about our children and we have asked God
00:10:48 to direct their path and keep them out of wickedness.
00:10:53 We have raised them properly.
00:10:55 We have brought them to church consistently
00:10:57 and yet still here is another one of our boys
00:11:01 after the first two have already gone to reformatory school.
00:11:05 Here is the one that we have put all our trust in
00:11:08 and depended on to God to make different from the others.
00:11:13 What if the Lord says this one's going the same way
00:11:16 the others have gone but my grace is sufficient.
00:11:20 I propose to you tonight that not many of us
00:11:25 sitting here in church really want to deal with
00:11:29 my grace is sufficient.
00:11:34 - Amen.
00:11:35 - Amen.
00:11:36 - I propose that many of us have totally put that aside
00:11:40 as if it has nothing to do with our walking with God.
00:11:45 Because when we're sick we want to be healed.
00:11:51 When we're broke we want God to put money in our pockets.
00:11:56 When our children are being raised we want God
00:11:58 to direct them and we want God to keep them
00:12:01 in the path of righteousness whether they want
00:12:03 to be there or not.
00:12:05 Most of us aren't prepared to deal with my grace
00:12:10 is sufficient.
00:12:11 Oh I don't want to wear your patience tonight with this.
00:12:18 But I will notice with you then that if that is the case
00:12:22 then somewhere along the line we have got to rethink
00:12:26 our theology because God raised Lazarus from the dead
00:12:30 but Lazarus died again.
00:12:33 As powerful as Peter was Peter's not here tonight.
00:12:37 As powerful as the greatness of Paul he isn't here tonight.
00:12:41 And none of us sitting in here is ever going to be exempt
00:12:45 from circumstances and situations that go against
00:12:51 what we want.
00:12:52 But the bottom line is that a child of God has to have
00:12:56 a different kind of attitude in the midst of what
00:13:00 they go through because his grace is sufficient.
00:13:04 His grace is sufficient.
00:13:06 Oh I'm going to drive that devil out of here tonight.
00:13:10 It's important to see this as I muse upon this
00:13:14 and as I think upon this I think often times
00:13:19 that we have to become more responsible in our presentation
00:13:23 of truth because truth has to be balanced.
00:13:31 Everybody sitting in here is not going to be rich
00:13:35 and some folk in here have got to go through some
00:13:39 sicknesses that will be unto death.
00:13:42 But at the same time go through the sickness
00:13:47 with a defiance that I know my God is able.
00:13:52 I believe he will but if not devil I'm still not going
00:13:56 to bow to your music.
00:14:00 [audience cheering]
00:14:03 There's somebody in here like that.
00:14:05 There's somebody in here that knows they can praise him
00:14:07 and lift him up no matter what the circumstances are.
00:14:12 I propose to you that the reason why we have had to deal
00:14:20 with so many questions and as I sat and talked to the
00:14:23 bishop just for a minute and this is my first time out
00:14:27 since the event and he hasn't gone out yet
00:14:31 and it's not that anybody's afraid.
00:14:34 It's simply that those of us who have congregations
00:14:37 thought it would be more appropriate for us to spend
00:14:41 the time with them, getting them through all these hurdles.
00:14:46 And it is in the face of the enemy.
00:14:50 It's in the face of the enemy and in the face
00:14:54 of a misinterpretation of our walk with God
00:14:58 that we challenge God when events take place
00:15:03 that we don't like.
00:15:05 Oh, you're sitting here and many of us have a sensitivity
00:15:10 of course to New York and the 5,000 people
00:15:16 who just suddenly were cut off and we have a sensitivity
00:15:20 and rightly so.
00:15:22 But if we look historically, we should have a sensitivity
00:15:27 to 20 million Africans who are under the Atlantic Ocean.
00:15:32 We should have a sensitivity to six million Jews
00:15:37 who were destroyed by Hitler.
00:15:40 We should have a sensitivity to millions, thousands
00:15:44 of people who have been lynched right here through the South
00:15:48 and other places in America.
00:15:50 I propose to you that our sensitivity is not necessarily
00:15:55 to the 5,000 or the 20 million.
00:15:58 Our sensitivity is to ourselves.
00:16:02 I think we've just become a little selfish about this
00:16:06 because we're really not wondering about what would happen
00:16:10 to them like we're wondering what would happen to us.
00:16:15 Oh, I've got to preach just a little bit here
00:16:18 because somebody has to deal with the if not
00:16:23 because some are delivered, some are sustained,
00:16:27 but some have to die.
00:16:30 But it doesn't matter whether you're delivered
00:16:33 or you're sustained or you have to die.
00:16:37 If you have a relationship with the Lord,
00:16:40 you'll look the devil in the face and say,
00:16:43 the God I serve, he's able, he will,
00:16:48 but if not, I'm still going to praise him like I should.
00:16:53 Oh, I feel God here.
00:16:57 Can I deal with it just a little here?
00:17:01 You see now from the philosophical aspect of it,
00:17:06 Paul is saying that he said to me,
00:17:08 my grace is sufficient for thee.
00:17:12 My strength is made perfect in weakness.
00:17:16 And he uses the perfect case here
00:17:18 when he deals with the word my grace is sufficient.
00:17:21 That clause is in what the Greeks put the perfect tense
00:17:26 and the force of that statement then
00:17:30 connects the past to the present.
00:17:32 He is saying that he said this to me then
00:17:37 with the view that it is still in force,
00:17:42 which means then that the power of the comfort was so great
00:17:47 that it was not just a statement that he remembers,
00:17:51 but it is a statement that continually
00:17:54 rehearses itself in his mind.
00:17:57 And this is I am enough when you don't have a friend.
00:18:02 I am enough when you don't have any money.
00:18:07 I am enough when they treat you like a piece of dirt.
00:18:12 I am always enough because in whatever
00:18:16 I don't deliver you from, I comfort you in.
00:18:21 Oh God, I wish I could talk to some folk
00:18:26 that just want to love Jesus tonight.
00:18:29 He said here, one writer says,
00:18:33 one whiner says and I quote,
00:18:35 Paul says the answer was ever sounding in his ears,
00:18:40 but not only in his ears,
00:18:42 but in those of all of us who have to go through some things.
00:18:47 You see what Satan wants to say to us
00:18:52 is that you only serve God when things go your way.
00:18:57 You only serve him when you believe
00:19:02 he's going to bring you out of something
00:19:04 or give you something like walking with God,
00:19:08 I have to be bought.
00:19:10 And nobody wants somebody with them that they have to buy.
00:19:14 I hope somebody'd want to be with me just for me.
00:19:19 And what the Lord is saying is if I don't bring you out,
00:19:22 how are you going to treat me?
00:19:24 If I don't make a way next week,
00:19:27 what am I going to get from you?
00:19:33 I feel God's presence in this place.
00:19:35 My grace, he says, and it's a metanome for my love.
00:19:42 And it's a substitute.
00:19:46 He is saying now, let's substitute my grace.
00:19:49 My love is enough.
00:19:52 I thought you just wanted to be with me.
00:19:56 I thought you just liked the spiritual connection
00:20:01 that we have.
00:20:03 I didn't know I had to keep you in me glory.
00:20:05 And I didn't know I had to keep you in Rolls Royces
00:20:09 and Mercedes in order for you to enjoy me.
00:20:14 But every now and then I'll allow the devil
00:20:16 to move against you just to see where your heart really is.
00:20:21 Oh God, I feel your presence here.
00:20:25 One writer says, and he says,
00:20:29 he says, you all sit down, I'll behave.
00:20:31 He says, he says, these words,
00:20:34 give me a little more monitors,
00:20:35 should be engraved in the palm of every believer's hand.
00:20:40 It should be something that you look at
00:20:45 because you can have a lot of money and still be unhappy.
00:20:50 Oh yes, you can be sick and still be glad.
00:20:55 Oh, I wish I could talk to you here
00:20:57 because what you're saying to the devil is
00:21:00 you can't cut off how I feel about my God
00:21:04 because I know he's able.
00:21:07 I believe he will.
00:21:10 But if not, I still love him like I used to love him
00:21:15 when everything was going my way.
00:21:19 I feel God here, shake somebody's hand,
00:21:22 say it's breakthrough time.
00:21:23 The question then,
00:21:28 he says to those who seek deliverance from pain,
00:21:32 he says, it is enough that I love you.
00:21:37 And now this secures and implies all of the good
00:21:42 because what God says is my loving kindness
00:21:47 is better than life.
00:21:50 You see, because here's what he's done.
00:21:51 He has now disassociated my walk with him
00:21:56 from my circumstance.
00:22:00 You see, again, can I just take my time?
00:22:03 You see, what Satan wants to do is take your circumstance
00:22:08 to form your theology.
00:22:10 Oh God, you can praise him when things are going well.
00:22:16 And then Satan sits around and accuses us to God
00:22:21 and accuses God to us
00:22:25 to break up the spiritual connection that we have.
00:22:30 He accuses us to God when he says to God,
00:22:34 does Job serve you for nothing?
00:22:38 If you gave me all you gave Job, I would serve you too.
00:22:43 You see, in other words, God, don't nobody really want you.
00:22:47 They just want what you have.
00:22:52 Oh God, I wish I could preach to you in here.
00:22:55 A whole lot of folk are alone tonight
00:22:59 because they had somebody who didn't really want them.
00:23:03 They just wanted what you had.
00:23:06 And as soon as what you had began to shrink,
00:23:10 they began to look somewhere else.
00:23:13 Nobody wants to be with anybody
00:23:16 who simply wants you for what you have or how you put out.
00:23:21 When I can't put out, would you still be here?
00:23:25 When I don't have Rolls Royce money,
00:23:28 would you still be here?
00:23:30 I feel like preaching tonight.
00:23:32 Shake somebody's hand and say, if not,
00:23:36 I'll still be lifting up the name of my God.
00:23:39 It is this, this gives God.
00:23:43 This now, the if not clause gives God the freedom,
00:23:48 not only to sustain us,
00:23:51 but it gives God the freedom to display
00:23:55 his all sufficient power
00:23:58 because what we have done is limited God's
00:24:02 power to deliverance.
00:24:05 How might I put this?
00:24:07 Here I am locked behind the gate
00:24:11 and I'm locked behind this gate and I can't get out.
00:24:16 And I call on the Lord and I get real spiritual
00:24:18 because I want you to deliver me out of this gate,
00:24:22 of this bad marriage or out of the prison
00:24:25 of this financial difficulty
00:24:27 or out of the prison of this sickness.
00:24:30 Deliver me Lord, I want out.
00:24:33 And I get real dedicated and consecrated
00:24:36 and I call on him and I see the Lord coming
00:24:39 through the words of the prophet
00:24:41 and through the words of the preacher.
00:24:43 And I get real happy, God's going to deliver me.
00:24:46 He's going to let me out.
00:24:47 Oh, thank you Jesus.
00:24:49 He walks up to the gate and he opens it
00:24:52 and he says, "Come out, you're delivered."
00:24:55 And I say, "Thank you Lord, I'm so glad."
00:24:58 And I say, "I'll see you when I need you the next time."
00:25:02 And now I'm in the same prison and I'm locked in here.
00:25:06 And I cry out to God, I say, "Deliver me, deliver me.
00:25:10 "Change my situation."
00:25:11 And I see him coming and I get real glad.
00:25:15 And he walks up to the gate, opens the gate
00:25:18 and he doesn't say come out, but he comes in,
00:25:22 shuts the gate on the inside and say,
00:25:24 "Now that I'm in here, we can handle it together."
00:25:29 Oh, I feel God in here.
00:25:31 Everybody in this house has known him as a deliverer
00:25:36 but you've also known him as a sustainer
00:25:41 because oftentimes he's got to keep you
00:25:44 until he brings the miracle of deliverance.
00:25:49 Oh, I believe this thing tonight.
00:25:52 Oh, can I preach like I feel it?
00:25:55 Give somebody high five
00:25:57 and say he's sustaining me right now.
00:26:00 I'm looking for a deliverance right now.
00:26:04 But if not, I'm still gonna drag myself to church
00:26:09 and give God the glory.
00:26:12 [audience cheering]
00:26:16 I feel God in here.
00:26:17 Oh, touch a neighbor and say, "It's time to mature."
00:26:21 The weakness here.
00:26:24 When he speaks then, he says,
00:26:27 "My strength is made perfect in weakness."
00:26:31 And so what God wants to do now is take the infirmity
00:26:36 in front of the enormity of the enemy
00:26:40 to show how powerful he is.
00:26:44 I want you to see clearly what he's doing.
00:26:47 He's bringing us to realize
00:26:50 that our strength is absolutely nothing
00:26:55 in the face of an enormous enemy.
00:26:59 As long as there is no challenge,
00:27:02 we walk around with strength
00:27:05 because where there is no challenge,
00:27:08 there is no analysis of where you are.
00:27:12 It is in the midst of the challenge of the enemy
00:27:16 that we begin to find out who and where we are.
00:27:21 It is when the enemy is looking at us
00:27:26 and threatening the very existence that we have.
00:27:30 It's only then we find out where we are.
00:27:35 Without the challenge, I'm strong.
00:27:38 I never thought that I would give any kind of great prayer
00:27:43 before I got on a plane.
00:27:45 I took getting on a plane for granted.
00:27:48 It's a way of life.
00:27:50 And all of a sudden I'm in sackcloth and ashes
00:27:54 before I do what I've always done.
00:27:58 It is in face of the enemy
00:28:00 that my theology has to be reworked.
00:28:04 I got to sit down now and begin to calculate.
00:28:08 Have I always spoke the right thing?
00:28:11 Did I always believe the right thing?
00:28:14 I got rich preaching deliverance.
00:28:18 I got rich preaching sustenance.
00:28:21 But what about the folk who don't have the money?
00:28:25 Are they not as saved as those who do?
00:28:28 What about the folk?
00:28:33 I have, and I thank God,
00:28:36 I have at home young fellas, 27, 28,
00:28:40 women 30 and 31,
00:28:43 who have 70, a hundred million dollars.
00:28:46 But I also have folk who come through the door
00:28:51 seeking help from the church
00:28:53 in order to make their lives work.
00:28:56 When I look at the rich ones,
00:28:58 are they more spiritual than those who are poor?
00:29:02 Then the answer is a categorical no,
00:29:06 because somebody who's poor
00:29:09 has to know God in a different way
00:29:12 than somebody who's rich.
00:29:14 I wish I could preach to you.
00:29:18 And every now and then the rich ought to know him
00:29:21 in the same way that the poor have to know him,
00:29:25 and the poor need to know him
00:29:27 the same way that the rich need to know him.
00:29:30 But everybody needs to know God enough
00:29:34 to say, "I know he is able,
00:29:37 "I believe he will,
00:29:40 "but if not,
00:29:41 "I tell you, we still gonna lift him up.
00:29:45 "Can I get you to shake somebody's hand
00:29:48 "and tell him you'll never be the same after tonight?
00:29:51 "Oh, I gotta go a little further.
00:29:54 "I feel like preaching in here."
00:29:57 It is here then in weakness
00:30:00 that God says this now becomes
00:30:04 the manifestation of my strength.
00:30:07 He said, "As long as you were in your power curve,
00:30:12 "I didn't get a chance to display who I am.
00:30:18 "As long as there was no challenge,
00:30:21 "there was no need for me to display
00:30:24 "my power and my strength.
00:30:26 "But whenever you realize
00:30:29 "that you aren't that much
00:30:31 "by who you think you are,
00:30:34 "then I get a chance to show
00:30:37 "just how great I am.
00:30:40 "So what I want is the enemy to challenge you
00:30:43 "until you find out
00:30:46 "that you can't defeat him yourself.
00:30:49 "I want the enemy to challenge you
00:30:52 "until you find out that you can't even help me
00:30:56 "to turn the situation around.
00:30:59 "I want the thing to come against you
00:31:02 "so enormously
00:31:05 "that I get an opportunity to show you
00:31:08 "just how powerful I really am."
00:31:13 I feel this thing tonight.
00:31:15 Most of us don't wanna go through it.
00:31:18 I don't wanna go through it, Lord.
00:31:20 I don't wanna have to prove I am as good as Job.
00:31:25 I know that we talk about Abraham
00:31:27 and we say how great he was
00:31:29 to sacrifice his own son.
00:31:32 But would you wanna be his son?
00:31:34 I wish somebody'd help me.
00:31:36 Yeah, Abraham, oh, he really loves God.
00:31:41 But would you want a father
00:31:43 who would put a knife through your heart
00:31:46 to prove how much he loves God?
00:31:49 None of us wanna deal with that.
00:31:52 But God says, "I've got to allow it to come your way
00:31:57 "in order for you to see why you really walk with me."
00:32:02 Paul looked at it and said,
00:32:04 "Most gladly will I rather glory in my infirmities."
00:32:09 I wish I had some help.
00:32:10 Can I do it any way I want to?
00:32:12 Send me five young men, five young men.
00:32:15 Run up here real quick.
00:32:17 I might as well preach like I feel it.
00:32:19 Come on here.
00:32:20 'Cause I'm gonna drive the devil out of here.
00:32:23 We gonna go into the other side of this.
00:32:25 Come on up here.
00:32:26 Come on here and help me.
00:32:28 Paul looks at his circumstance
00:32:31 and he's surrounded by the trials.
00:32:35 Come on, don't sit, just come back.
00:32:37 Come on, surround me right here.
00:32:39 I gotta make a point.
00:32:41 And what he understands now is this.
00:32:44 I've got heartache, financial trouble.
00:32:47 I got folk against me, folk who despise me.
00:32:51 Folk who wanna see me dead.
00:32:53 The people don't like me.
00:32:55 And now I got a thorn in the flesh.
00:32:58 It's one thing for it to be outside.
00:33:01 It's another thing for it to be inside.
00:33:04 And now I go to God and he won't do what I say.
00:33:09 My folk don't like me.
00:33:11 The devil's after me.
00:33:13 And now I'm talking to God and he won't deliver me.
00:33:18 Can I take it a little further?
00:33:20 One of the problems we have is
00:33:23 no matter what our circumstances are tonight,
00:33:26 we know God can change it.
00:33:28 Oh yes, that's one thing.
00:33:32 Now it's one thing to have somebody with you
00:33:36 who does not have the power but want to.
00:33:40 It's another thing to know somebody who can but who won't.
00:33:45 When somebody can and they won't,
00:33:49 then the question of love arises.
00:33:52 If somebody can't but would,
00:33:56 there is no question of love.
00:33:58 It's just a question of power.
00:34:01 But when somebody can and won't,
00:34:04 now it's a question of love.
00:34:07 That's why all the saints are asking
00:34:10 where was God in all of this?
00:34:13 Well, where was God?
00:34:14 When we crucified his son,
00:34:19 he was the same place that he was when he gave up Jesus.
00:34:24 Oh, I wish I could talk to you
00:34:27 but I don't think you want to hear it tonight.
00:34:30 Where was God?
00:34:32 That's what we ask because the enemy has challenged us
00:34:37 and accused God to us.
00:34:41 And he's saying now you ought to question your God
00:34:44 for letting this come upon you.
00:34:47 But if God lets it come upon you,
00:34:50 he's coming inside with you.
00:34:53 And he's saying you're not going through it yourself
00:34:57 but I'm coming on the inside.
00:35:00 So here's what you got to learn to do.
00:35:03 Give me the power to stay outside
00:35:06 but give me the power to come inside.
00:35:09 But don't question me if I'm outside
00:35:13 and don't question me when I'm inside.
00:35:16 Enjoy me when I'm outside
00:35:19 and enjoy me when I'm inside
00:35:22 'cause I'll never leave you.
00:35:25 No!
00:35:26 [audience cheering]
00:35:29 I wish I had a church.
00:35:33 Give somebody a high five.
00:35:35 Said I've been through it all
00:35:37 and I'm still here.
00:35:40 Therefore I will glory
00:35:42 because I'm gonna get a chance
00:35:46 to see how powerful God is.
00:35:50 And I'm not gonna tie his hand
00:35:52 and say to him the only way I'll feel good
00:35:55 is if you deliver me
00:35:58 because I want the devil to know
00:36:00 I don't have to wait for deliverance.
00:36:03 I can shout now.
00:36:06 Oh glory to God.
00:36:08 Find my key, I'm not gonna stay all night.
00:36:11 I'm gonna preach like Bishop G.E. tonight.
00:36:14 Real short and sweet.
00:36:16 I cannot preach like a Philidor.
00:36:19 You've gotta understand now
00:36:20 that this then becomes the place
00:36:23 of the manifestation of God's glory
00:36:27 because the if not clause is not a way out.
00:36:31 It's just as powerful as I know he's able
00:36:36 and he will.
00:36:38 The if not clause does not let down.
00:36:41 Neither does it give the mind a place of escape.
00:36:45 But the if not clause is as much a place of power
00:36:50 as I know he's able
00:36:53 and I know he will
00:36:55 because what you're saying to the devil is
00:36:58 the glory starts with me.
00:37:01 The glory starts right here
00:37:05 and that is if God does it, give him glory.
00:37:08 If he doesn't, the glory stops here
00:37:11 because devil you can't affect me
00:37:14 no matter what God does
00:37:17 because I'm already connected.
00:37:20 I feel it in here.
00:37:24 Pull on somebody, say we gotta break through.
00:37:27 Touch somebody else, say stop living scared
00:37:30 because if you got it right with God,
00:37:33 it don't matter how you leave here
00:37:36 so you might as well live while you're here.
00:37:40 The if not clause defies the devil
00:37:45 and says you don't have power
00:37:48 to stop me from lifting him up.
00:37:50 Whatever he chooses, however he decides,
00:37:55 whenever he gets ready, I'll be right here
00:37:59 making my stand.
00:38:01 That I stand acknowledges that I already have power
00:38:06 over the enemy.
00:38:08 In the middle of my poverty,
00:38:11 I already have power over the enemy.
00:38:15 In the middle of my sickness,
00:38:17 I already have power over the enemy.
00:38:21 My son is in jail but I already have power
00:38:26 over the enemy because I become the opportunity
00:38:31 to show the devil God is still real.
00:38:36 I feel like preaching in here
00:38:39 and so the boys looking at Nebuchadnezzar
00:38:43 as mean as he is because Nebuchadnezzar
00:38:48 at 17 conquered Nineveh, at 25 he was world ruler,
00:38:53 had 50,000 men called Scythians,
00:38:58 the meanest men who ever lived
00:39:00 but three fellows looked him in the face
00:39:05 and said we are not careful
00:39:07 to answer you concerning this matter
00:39:11 but the God we serve,
00:39:13 touch somebody say he's able,
00:39:17 touch somebody else say he will
00:39:20 but if not, I cut God loose
00:39:24 to do whatever he wants to do.
00:39:26 Send me my help back, I'm getting ready to close
00:39:30 but I need my help back here.
00:39:33 I feel like preaching, give somebody high five
00:39:37 and say do you have your if not claws together?
00:39:40 Can I preach just a minute?
00:39:42 The devil is a roaring lion
00:39:45 seeking whom he may devour
00:39:48 and every now and then he walks around your defenses
00:39:53 trying to get in, looking for a place.
00:39:57 Come on devil, look for a place,
00:39:59 look for somewhere to come in.
00:40:01 As long as I'm in the safety of God's presence,
00:40:06 I can act any kind of way.
00:40:09 Oh devil, you can't do nothing.
00:40:11 Devil, you ain't nothing.
00:40:13 I'm shouting because I got a woman in the house,
00:40:18 I got a man at home, I got money in the bank.
00:40:22 Oh, what a sanctified child of God I am
00:40:27 because the Lord's presence is keeping the enemy out
00:40:32 but real praise, real praise, real power
00:40:37 is when the Lord forsakes a spot
00:40:42 because in order for the enemy to come in,
00:40:45 you have to be God forsaken.
00:40:47 Can I take you right there?
00:40:51 Stay right here a minute.
00:40:53 When you're God forsaken,
00:40:55 it's God moving from one place to another.
00:41:00 What God did in the towers is when he forsook the towers
00:41:06 because he had to move his presence
00:41:09 for the enemy to come in.
00:41:11 As long as his presence was there,
00:41:14 the enemy couldn't come in
00:41:17 but he looked at us hypocritical Christians
00:41:20 who would not get along with each other.
00:41:23 At a family reunion, we have to have a funeral
00:41:27 for folk to come to church.
00:41:30 I wish I could talk to you.
00:41:32 And so what God did was he forsook a spot
00:41:36 and moved to another spot.
00:41:39 Now everybody's trying to find where is God.
00:41:44 Can I talk to you a minute?
00:41:46 He forsook Jesus at the cross
00:41:49 in order to take him to resurrection.
00:41:52 If there's no forsaking, there's no grace is sufficient
00:41:57 because he forsakes, then he comforts,
00:42:01 then he moves you to the next level.
00:42:05 Give somebody high five.
00:42:07 Say I'm going to the next level.
00:42:11 God has moved and I'm trying to find him.
00:42:15 When I find him, I'll be in my blessing.
00:42:20 Let me preach part three.
00:42:22 As the devil keeps looking and God forsakes a spot,
00:42:27 then the enemy comes in, but God comes in with him.
00:42:32 God does not move the situation.
00:42:34 He keeps the situation there,
00:42:37 but he comes on the inside and gives me joy
00:42:41 I've never ever had, gives me experiences
00:42:46 I've never ever had.
00:42:48 So I look at my trouble and say, thank God for my trouble.
00:42:53 The more trouble, the more anointing,
00:42:57 the more trouble, the more consecration,
00:43:01 the more trouble, the closer I get to God.
00:43:05 So thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
00:43:08 I feel like preaching in here.
00:43:10 Touch your neighbor, say neighbor,
00:43:16 he'll answer in the fire.
00:43:20 He don't have to wait, he'll step in the fire.
00:43:24 Can I close this message?
00:43:26 Somebody said, never, can never, look in the fire.
00:43:31 I thought we put in three,
00:43:34 but there's four of them in there.
00:43:36 I feel the Holy Ghost shake somebody's hand.
00:43:40 Say neighbor, nobody will see him until you're in the fire.
00:43:45 Then they'll know you got somebody with you
00:43:50 that didn't show up until you got in the fire.
00:43:55 I feel like praising him.
00:43:57 I feel like lifting him up.
00:44:02 Touch somebody, say dance in the fire.
00:44:06 Rejoice in the fire.
00:44:09 Lift him up in the fire.
00:44:13 Defy the devil in the fire.
00:44:17 Walk like you should in the fire.
00:44:21 Tears him like you should in the fire.
00:44:25 Give somebody high five.
00:44:27 Say I know you know him now.
00:44:29 'Cause the fire didn't put out your praise.
00:44:33 The fire didn't stop you from walking.
00:44:37 The fire didn't turn you around.
00:44:42 The fire.
00:44:42 God bless you tonight.
00:44:52 God bless you tonight.
00:44:54 Touch three people real quick.
00:44:55 Say I don't care how it comes out.
00:44:58 I'll be praising the name of the Lord.
00:45:02 I don't care how it comes out.
00:45:05 I'm getting on a plane in the morning.
00:45:07 I'm gonna live my life like I should.
00:45:10 I don't care how it comes out.
00:45:14 I am a child of God.
00:45:18 I'll praise him when I'm up.
00:45:20 I'll praise him when I'm down.
00:45:23 I'll praise him when I'm well.
00:45:25 Praise him when I'm sick.
00:45:26 Yeah.
00:45:34 I know he's able.
00:45:50 I believe he will.
00:45:54 But if not, I'm still down with you, Jesus.
00:46:05 I'm still down with you.
00:46:07 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:46:10 The challenge.
00:46:28 I'm closing.
00:46:30 I wish I could sit in every pew and talk to you by yourself.
00:46:33 [CHILDREN SHOUTING]
00:46:36 Everybody in here is going to face a circumstance that you
00:46:51 will not be delivered from.
00:46:53 Come on.
00:47:02 You have played with me too long.
00:47:05 I've chased every tent in town trying
00:47:15 to get free from this thing.
00:47:16 And now I've become angry with God, really angry with God.
00:47:31 Had a saint the other day, almost had a nervous breakdown
00:47:35 because she didn't have an if not clause.
00:47:37 I can't imagine how God would let this man get this child
00:47:43 from me.
00:47:45 I just knew he was going to deliver.
00:47:50 I told her, I said to her, I said,
00:47:57 I want to tell you something.
00:47:59 I said, I got a call from a lady somewhere out here
00:48:02 in the mid-south.
00:48:05 Her daughter was killed in a car accident.
00:48:09 She went home to tell her mother that her grandbaby died.
00:48:15 And her mother died instantly after hearing it.
00:48:19 She lost both of them one day.
00:48:22 The thing that is miraculous and astounding
00:48:28 is that she called me to pray to the God who
00:48:35 allowed it to happen.
00:48:37 She called me for the person who is not connected to God.
00:48:56 How could he let it happen?
00:48:59 Would mean I don't want to talk to him,
00:49:03 but to the person who's connected.
00:49:06 What she is saying is, the God who allowed it,
00:49:11 I'm going to Him to give me strength to handle it.
00:49:17 Strength to handle it.
00:49:19 If not, releases God to display a deliverance that we could
00:49:40 have never imagined.
00:49:43 Because it's four people at least who
00:49:46 didn't know how it was coming out.
00:49:49 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, they
00:49:51 didn't know how it was coming out.
00:49:52 And neither did Nebuchadnezzar.
00:50:00 The only one who knew how it was coming out was God.
00:50:05 And he set himself up in a way that everybody
00:50:09 had to bow and say, now, the God you serve,
00:50:14 he's the real one.
00:50:16 Oh, I feel like shouting in this house.
00:50:19 I got to close.
00:50:20 I got to close.
00:50:25 But folk never measure your strength by what you have.
00:50:34 Jesus said to them, said, you all
00:50:38 should at least believe me for my work's sake.
00:50:44 Look at my works.
00:50:47 But when the centurion noted how he handled the cross,
00:50:54 he said, surely, surely, this must be the Son of God.
00:51:06 When I look at you, and I see people who don't
00:51:19 have what other people have.
00:51:23 I see people who you walk into hospital rooms
00:51:28 and you lay hands on, and you wish they'd get up.
00:51:35 Sometimes you walk in there apprehensive
00:51:37 because you just want the right thing to say.
00:51:42 And walk in there, just got out of a Ferrari 550 Maranello,
00:51:47 living in a $2 million house hanging over the cliff.
00:51:50 And you walk in there and you want to know, what do I say?
00:51:54 To this mother, to this boy, to this girl,
00:51:57 to this choir member who was in a car accident,
00:52:01 and her spine is snapped.
00:52:04 What do I say?
00:52:06 And when you walk in, you see the strength of God
00:52:09 emitting from their faces.
00:52:13 And you thought you went there to encourage them.
00:52:15 And they're talking to you about the greatness
00:52:23 and the joy of the Lord and how wonderful He is.
00:52:27 And you're saying, you must not be sick to yourself.
00:52:31 And then you realize that you can be sick in your body,
00:52:36 but healthy in your spirit.
00:52:39 You cannot have a dime in the bank,
00:52:42 but be a multimillionaire in your spirit.
00:52:45 And now I understand when the psalmist says,
00:52:54 I will bless the Lord at all times.
00:53:00 His praise shall continue to be in my mouth.
00:53:04 So I say to you, if you get married, He's able.
00:53:12 I know He will.
00:53:13 But if not, I'll go see the movies by myself.
00:53:17 If not, I'll still lift Him up.
00:53:30 I want you to get one person by both hands.
00:53:33 Tonight, we're going to release God
00:53:38 to show us the greatest miracle that we have ever had.
00:53:41 Sick, and if it doesn't ever go away,
00:53:48 I came in here tonight with a herniated disc in my neck.
00:53:52 Hurts horribly.
00:53:55 If He heals it, fine.
00:53:56 If not, I'm going to preach through it, in it, around it,
00:54:00 over it.
00:54:02 Do my will.
00:54:03 Do His will.
00:54:03 You're not serving God for the fish and the loaves.
00:54:11 A new thing has happened now.
00:54:12 Our very way of life has been challenged.
00:54:18 Now salvation has to take us further than this life.
00:54:29 For if in this life only we have hope in Christ,
00:54:34 we are, all men, most miserable.
00:54:39 The only way to defeat people who are not afraid to die
00:54:45 is for you not to be afraid to die, too.
00:54:47 And the only way not to be afraid to die
00:54:54 is to know you got it right with God.
00:54:57 [CHEERS]
00:55:01 I thought the Lord found joy in the death of the saints.
00:55:05 [CHEERS]
00:55:07 Yeah, I want to be with Jesus, but I
00:55:08 don't want to go right now.
00:55:12 I'm here to tell you, once you resolve
00:55:15 the issue of life and death, you can live now.
00:55:23 Because you can't defeat an enemy who's not scared to die.
00:55:30 Because you're fighting to live and he's fighting to die.
00:55:36 But yet you have the greater promise.
00:55:38 Because somebody died that you might live, not just on earth,
00:55:46 but eternally.
00:55:49 The only way you can live abundantly
00:55:53 is when you've settled the issue about dying.
00:55:58 So devil, I got news for you.
00:56:01 I will not change my lifestyle, because I already
00:56:05 got it right with God.
00:56:09 I'll walk in the fire, and he'll be with me in the fire.
00:56:15 [SPEAKING IN HEBREW]
00:56:18 I feel your strength coming back.
00:56:21 I feel your power coming back.
00:56:23 I feel your deliverance coming back.
00:56:26 Yes, the God you serve is able, and he will.
00:56:32 But you got to, if not close--
00:56:40 I'm praising him right now.
00:56:42 Somebody's got to go face the bank.
00:56:45 Somebody's got to go deal with the lawyer.
00:56:47 Somebody's got to go before the judge.
00:56:49 Somebody needs an operation.
00:56:52 Lay down on the table, holler to your God and say,
00:56:55 I know you're able.
00:56:57 I believe you will.
00:56:59 But if not, I just want to praise you while I lay here.
00:57:04 I just want to lift you up while I lay here.
00:57:07 Oh, he'll show you a miracle.
00:57:10 He said you'll release me.
00:57:12 You didn't start praising me when it was over,
00:57:15 but you praised me before you knew
00:57:18 how you were going to come out.
00:57:20 You have made the devil a liar.
00:57:22 [SPEAKING IN HEBREW]
00:57:28 Oh, Lord, I thank you.
00:57:30 Oh, Lord, I praise you.
00:57:32 Strengthen my sister.
00:57:34 Strengthen my brother.
00:57:36 Strengthen my husband.
00:57:38 Strengthen my wife.
00:57:40 Strengthen my children.
00:57:42 Strengthen my mother.
00:57:44 Strengthen my daughter.
00:57:46 I don't know who you're praying with tonight,
00:57:48 but call on God to strengthen them.
00:57:51 Strengthen you.
00:57:53 Strengthen me.
00:57:54 Strengthen us.
00:57:56 Yes.
00:57:57 Bring us back.
00:57:59 Bring our minds back.
00:58:01 Bring our spirits back.
00:58:03 Open the doors.
00:58:05 Let us walk through in the name of Jesus.
00:58:12 Hey, glory.
00:58:14 I trust you, Lord.
00:58:16 I believe you, Lord.
00:58:18 I love you, Lord.
00:58:20 I don't care what the outcome is.
00:58:23 I just want to be with you.
00:58:25 I just want you to hold me.
00:58:28 I just want you to love me.
00:58:30 I just want you to deliver.
00:58:34 [SPEAKING IN HEBREW]
00:58:38 Oh, loose those hands.
00:58:40 Slip them up to God.
00:58:41 And just tell him, if not, I still love you.
00:58:46 If not, we'll walk through that house together.
00:58:49 If not, we'll lay on this hospital bed together.
00:58:54 If not, we'll walk through the fire together.
00:58:58 Because you are my God.
00:59:00 There's power in this house.
00:59:03 There's power in this house.
00:59:05 There's power in this house.
00:59:07 Oh, yes.
00:59:09 Let him heat the fire.
00:59:10 Let him heat it.
00:59:11 Let him heat it.
00:59:12 The only person, man, is the devil.
00:59:16 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:59:19 I feel the presence and the deliverance
00:59:26 of the people of God.
00:59:28 We will not be afraid.
00:59:30 We will not be frightened.
00:59:32 Hey, glory.
00:59:34 Somebody let him know we will not be afraid.
00:59:37 We will not be frightened.
