00:00 Former cricket player turned TV star Freddie Flintoff has been notably absent from our
00:04 TV screens ever since he suffered a crash whilst filming Top Gear in December 2022.
00:10 Last week he was pictured publicly for the first time since the crash and now it's reported
00:15 that he'll be returning to filming in winter for the second series of his popular BBC show
00:20 Filled Dreams.
00:21 So I'm going out on the streets of his home county Lancashire to garner some public reaction
00:26 to the news.
00:27 Let's see what they have to say.
00:29 How do you feel about Freddie Flintoff perhaps coming back to TV?
00:32 I think it'll be great.
00:34 It'll be great to see him on TV again.
00:37 Are you a fan of Filled Dreams?
00:39 Yes, I was so pleased to see him helping those young lads and particularly that lad from
00:45 Afghanistan.
00:46 It was just great to see how he could relate to those young lads and he could do so much
00:54 for our local community.
00:58 It was a pity that more people weren't involved on the day that they had the cricket match
01:06 because I think lots of us would have gone down but somehow we just missed the advertising.
01:12 Well maybe for the second series you might get a chance?
01:15 Oh I hope so.
01:16 If I know about it I'll be there.
01:19 How do you feel about Freddie Flintoff being back on your screen?
01:22 I think he's really good, especially since he's just come back from injury and he went
01:27 through a lot of the Top Gear show.
01:31 I think it's really good for him, especially due to mental health and a lot of it.
01:34 He was quite a bit of an advocate at the time and I think it's really good for him.
01:38 Did you watch him on Top Gear?
01:40 I watched him a bit, yeah.
01:41 I think because my family was quite big on Top Gear so I had to watch it.
01:46 I enjoyed it and I knew him a little bit beforehand with radio shows and things and The Last Leg
01:52 especially and things like that.
01:53 But no, it was really entertaining.
01:54 So this is about A Field of Dreams, have you heard of that show?
01:58 I've not heard of the show but I'd love to look more into it.
02:04 It seems like it would be quite an interesting watch.
02:06 So you know it's about cricket?
02:08 Yes.
02:09 Are you interested in cricket?
02:10 My family is.
02:11 I had a big cricket and rugby household so it kind of got pushed into me.
02:16 But no, I think it's going to be a good watch especially if it goes more into the depths
02:24 of the cricket world and how it affects you as a performer or athlete.
02:30 How do you feel about Freddie Flintoff returning to our screens for A Field of Dreams series
02:33 2?
02:34 Yeah, to be honest, A Field of Dreams, I hadn't heard of it as a show but I saw that he was
02:40 back pitched this weekend which was great to see.
02:43 Great to see him back to his health, especially after what happened last year.
02:49 Will I watch A Field of Dreams?
02:50 I might do.
02:51 Now I've read up about it, the show sounds fantastic.
02:54 It's great cause behind it.
02:57 But yeah, the main thing is he's back to his health and he's back to doing what he loves.
03:01 So pleased for him.
03:02 Are you a Prestonian?
03:03 I am.
03:04 So does it make you proud to see him back?
03:05 I'm very proud to see him back.
03:06 It'll be good for the sport especially, definitely.
03:07 I think especially with it being his first show back on TV, after what happened, I'm
03:18 definitely more likely to tune into season 2 and then catch up on season 1 as well.
