We’re speaking to the people of Cardiff about Wales’ win over Fiji in Bordeaux on Sunday. Wales have had a difficult time against the Pacific Islanders in the past, and given Wales’ poor form and the fact its one of the best Fijian sides ever, the win could be the most important of the group stage, and be the catalyst for a change in fortune and a big World Cup for Wales.

00:00 I absolutely loved it. I would have enjoyed to have won by a bigger margin and to maybe
00:09 have had slightly lower blood pressure at times, but in terms of entertainment, for
00:14 me it was everything you would want from a World Cup game.
00:16 I've really enjoyed it, not going to lie. The games were all incredible, especially
00:20 the Wales-Fiji game. That was tight. There's games like that that make me love the sport,
00:24 if I'm honest. The intensity to it and just the last minute gasp. Obviously, neutral fans
00:31 have been devastated at Fiji. I'm sure you saw it, how they came so close.
00:36 It was all for Wales, wasn't it? Because Fijians are no mugs, they're good, strong. I wouldn't
00:42 want to be tackled by one of them. I've already got pains in my guts now. I just wanted a
00:46 crunching tackle. I think we did really well to hold on at the end. It was a sustained
00:52 pressure we took with the line on plenty of occasions, wasn't it? World defence were good.
00:58 It was a nail-biter, wasn't it? It was really edge of the seat. I thought Dan Bigger was
01:02 absolutely awesome. I think he really played well. He controlled the game well. When he
01:08 went off, they sort of lost their discipline a bit. They gave away far too many penalties
01:13 in the second half. But it was a good show by the boys. They had enough points on the
01:18 clock and they held Fiji off. It was a good win, really, at the end of the day.
01:22 You wouldn't have said this about any time before, but they were both upset. Fiji and
01:26 Argentina were ranked higher than Wales and England respectively, and yet they managed
01:32 to pull it together for the World Cup. Obviously, with Wales, they always over-perform under
01:36 Gatland in World Cups. They always have that extra edge, that tenacity.
01:42 They must have been sweating about this game for months, and really the nerves must have
01:46 been up for them. But they kept their composure. They had a difficult warm-up to it, didn't
01:51 they? But they did really well. I thought they played solidly and they got enough points
01:57 on the board and managed to come through.
02:00 Yes, definitely. Build on this, get the momentum going. I think it really ignited a bit of
02:04 a spark for the whole tournament. So, yes, looking forward to seeing what comes next.
02:09 Absolutely. I think a lot of us still kept the faith, and that's cleared up.
02:14 Let's hope we can just move on in the game, give Australia a good seeing to. Now we've
02:20 beat Fiji. Really speaking, we need Australia to beat Fiji, don't we? That's good for Wales,
02:26 isn't it? Normally, I'd want Fiji to beat Australia, but on this occasion, no, they
02:30 don't. They've lost it.
02:31 I think it'll set them up well for Australia as well, because they've got all that. They've
02:35 got the confidence now that they can. They took a hell of a lot of tackles, didn't they?
02:39 250 tackles with it. Now, that's a big game in anybody's book, that was. So, that'll set
02:45 them up well for Australia, and I wish them well for Australia. I think they've got a
02:49 chance.
02:50 Oh, yes. Let's hope it turns down to bringing the World Cup on an open bus tour around Cardiff
02:56 with the World Cup. I mean, it might be sticking my neck out a bit there, but...
