00:01 Week one of the NFL season in the AFC and a possible have versus a possible have.
00:07 Not Mike Fisher reporting on Baltimore Ravens beating the Houston Texans
00:13 in the opener, 25 to 9 is the final score.
00:16 Unusual score, unusual game, a happy return to action for the Ravens.
00:22 But an unfortunate exit as JK Dobbins injures his Achilles out for the year.
00:28 And of course, it's been difficult for him last couple years with injuries.
00:31 And then in his final year of his contract,
00:34 where he was in a hold in dispute with Baltimore, debuts,
00:38 gets off to a good start, and now out for the season.
00:41 Lamar Jackson was in action, of course, also with his new contract.
00:46 After his contract dispute, he throws for 169 passing yards.
00:50 Todd Monken, the new offensive coordinator, that's still gonna be a learning and
00:54 building experience for all involved.
00:56 Wednesday Flowers was an effective receiver with nine catches for 78 yards.
01:00 The Houston Texans, and this is a debut for their head coach, Demick O'Ryans, and
01:05 for their rookie potential star, top of the draft, CJ Stroud from Ohio State.
01:11 There were times when he looked like he had command of what they were trying to do
01:15 offensively, but he was sacked five times, there was a fumble.
01:18 And in the end, the Houston Texans, for all the work that they put in and
01:23 trying to change the culture and trying to change the roster.
01:26 And both those things are equally important.
01:28 Maybe the culture is changing, maybe the roster hasn't changed for
01:32 the good, at least not enough so far.
01:36 And so what you get is, to a Houston Texans fan, more of the same.
01:41 Their offense, which is supposed to have much more weaponry than it did a year ago,
01:44 especially because of CJ, in the end was able to manage just three field goals
01:49 in this game against what figures to be a very good Baltimore defense.
01:54 And what, with more work, might also be a very good Baltimore offense.
01:58 Covering the NFL, I'm Mike Fisher, final score, Ravens 25, Texans 9, Fish out.
