00:00 Can we settle it once and for all?
00:04 Who is the goat?
00:08 Who, if you don't know what the goat is, what is the goat?
00:12 The goat is the greatest of all time.
00:15 Who is the greatest of all time?
00:18 We're gonna look at a few categories
00:20 to get us into our talk just for fun,
00:22 and you get to vote online.
00:24 You can type in the comment section,
00:26 and I need all of our live churches to participate.
00:28 It won't be any fun without you.
00:29 Let's start with basketball.
00:30 Do we have Jordan or are we talking about LeBron?
00:34 Who would say Jordan?
00:36 Can I need some?
00:37 (audience cheering)
00:37 Who would say LeBron?
00:39 Who would say LeBron?
00:40 Oh man, online, you can type in whatever you think
00:43 because I think that people where I am would say Jordan.
00:47 Let's go with soccer, or for my international buddies,
00:51 we're calling it futbol.
00:53 This one should be easy.
00:54 Is it Messi?
00:56 (audience cheering)
00:57 Or is it Ronaldo?
00:59 Oh man, those of you online, we got some very opinion.
01:03 I mean, this has been debated for years,
01:06 and at Life.Church, it's very clear.
01:09 It's very, very clear.
01:10 Online, is it Messi or is it Ronaldo?
01:12 Let's get out of sports just to keep it a little bit broader.
01:16 Let's talk about superheroes.
01:17 Let's just go for it.
01:19 Is it Super, okay, this should be interesting right now.
01:21 Okay, we're just gonna see.
01:23 I'm guessing this one's 50/50,
01:25 or I don't know how it's gonna go.
01:27 Do we have Superman?
01:28 Help me out for Superman.
01:29 Is it Superwoman?
01:31 (audience cheering)
01:32 Oh, I think it's Superwoman online.
01:35 You guys can type in the chat.
01:36 Who is the greatest of all time?
01:40 When it comes to the kingdom of God,
01:44 our heavenly Father has a very different standard
01:50 of what makes you great.
01:53 In fact, in Mark's Gospel, chapter 10,
01:56 Jesus said that this world wants to show you
02:01 its greatness, right?
02:04 See my shoes, see my fit, see my car, see my friends,
02:09 see my photo of my post on my vacation with my tan legs
02:16 while I'm pretending to read a book by the beach
02:18 trying to make you jealous.
02:20 See how great I am?
02:22 Jesus said the world wants to show you how great it is.
02:25 But in Mark's Gospel, Mark chapter 10, verse 43,
02:29 Jesus said, "Not so with you."
02:33 Would you nudge the person next to you
02:34 and say, "Not so with you."
02:37 Online, you can type that in the comment section,
02:40 "Not so with you."
02:41 The world wants to show its greatness,
02:43 but Jesus said, "Not so with you."
02:46 He said, "Instead, whoever wants to become great among you
02:52 must be," what?
02:54 "Must be your servant.
02:56 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served,
03:01 but Jesus came to serve and to give His life
03:05 as a ransom for many."
03:07 In the kingdom of God, greatness is service, not status.
03:13 Greatness is what we do for others.
03:20 It's not drawing attention to ourselves.
03:23 Why?
03:25 Because it is impossible to love Jesus
03:29 without serving people.
03:31 Today, we're gonna do something different,
03:34 and I'm very excited about it.
03:37 For those of you online, I'm gonna continue teaching
03:41 to our Life.Church Online family
03:42 and to our YouTube community.
03:44 I'm gonna be with you all the way throughout.
03:46 But at our 44 Life.Church campuses,
03:48 we're gonna do something different today.
03:50 We actually have 104 different people
03:55 that will be preaching today,
03:57 helping me with this message at our Life.Church location.
04:01 104 different people.
04:05 Now, let me tell you about these people.
04:07 They've been chosen by their local campus pastor.
04:10 Many of them, they'll be teaching for the very first time.
04:14 They'll be a little bit nervous.
04:16 They might be a little bit insecure.
04:18 Many of them are a little bit younger on the team,
04:21 and we want to give them a chance to share God's Word,
04:25 help them grow in their communication skills,
04:29 and help you grow in your faith to serve.
04:32 So I want you to show them some love.
04:34 I want you to cheer them on.
04:36 I want you to help them feel welcome.
04:38 They're gonna preach on a powerful story
04:40 about Jesus washing the disciples' feet.
04:43 Today at 44 campuses,
04:45 could you please help me welcome our team teachers?
04:47 (congregation cheering)
04:50 All right.
04:51 Now it's just us.
04:54 Back to my online family.
04:55 How cool is that to imagine 104 different people
04:57 teaching God's Word today?
04:59 Just us in the room, those of you online,
05:01 I would love to know where you're watching from.
05:03 Just type it in the comment section.
05:05 Tell us where you're watching from right now.
05:08 And for the rest of our time today,
05:11 we're gonna be in John chapter 13,
05:14 and then toward the end of the message,
05:16 they're gonna come back to us,
05:17 and I'm gonna let you cheer again.
05:19 So John chapter 13, we're gonna start in verse one.
05:23 Scripture says this,
05:24 that it was just before the Passover festival,
05:28 and Jesus knew that the hour had come
05:31 for Him to leave this world and go to the Father.
05:34 When you read John's gospel,
05:35 you'll see He was obsessed with time.
05:37 Over and over again, He'll say,
05:38 "The time has not yet come.
05:39 "The time is coming.
05:41 "Now the hour has come."
05:43 It's time, the hour has come to leave this world
05:45 and go to the Father.
05:46 And Scripture says,
05:47 "Having loved His own who were in the world,
05:52 "Jesus loved them till the end."
05:56 So for context,
05:58 Jesus literally had just a handful of hours left to live
06:03 before He gives His life as a sacrifice.
06:08 So what do you do if you only have a few hours left to live?
06:13 Well, let me tell you what Jesus didn't do.
06:15 He didn't go on vacation.
06:16 He didn't go on a massive spending spree.
06:20 Jesus chose to spend His final hours
06:24 with His closest friends.
06:26 And John tells us that Jesus loved them.
06:31 And how did He love them?
06:32 He loved them to the end.
06:35 In fact, in the Greek language,
06:38 this to the end is the word, it's hēstētēlos.
06:42 And in the Greek, it means to the end,
06:44 but it also means to the fullest extent
06:48 or to the utter most.
06:51 So when Scripture says Jesus loved them till the end,
06:55 it doesn't just mean He loved them to the end of His life.
06:58 It also very literally means
07:00 that there is no end to His love.
07:05 He loved them to the fullest extent.
07:08 And what's amazing about Jesus
07:09 is He doesn't just state His love,
07:13 but He shows His love.
07:15 And He shows it in one of the most personal,
07:18 meaningful, and powerful ways you could ever imagine.
07:22 We read on in the text, it says this,
07:23 that Jesus got up from the meal.
07:27 Everybody say, "Jesus got up."
07:29 Jesus got up from the meal,
07:32 took off His outer clothing,
07:33 and wrapped a towel around His waist.
07:36 After that, He poured water into a basin
07:39 and began to wash His disciples' feet,
07:42 drying them with a towel that was wrapped around Him.
07:46 Two verses.
07:48 In these two verses,
07:49 we see Jesus doing seven specific acts of service.
07:54 Let me show you what He did.
07:56 Jesus got up.
07:58 Jesus took off His outer clothing.
08:01 Jesus wrapped a towel around His waist.
08:04 He poured water into a basin.
08:06 He knelt down.
08:08 He washed His disciples' feet,
08:10 and He finished the job.
08:11 He dried their feet with a towel.
08:14 Jesus, in just a moment of time,
08:17 literally did seven specific, different acts of service
08:22 to show that He loved His disciples
08:26 to the absolute fullest extent.
08:30 And what I want you to notice,
08:31 first of all, on the very first thought is this.
08:34 The first thing is, number one, what did Jesus do?
08:36 Jesus got up.
08:37 Type it online, He got up.
08:39 He got up.
08:40 He got up.
08:40 Jesus got up.
08:41 I want you to picture this,
08:43 the disciples lounging at a Passover meal
08:46 at a low, U-shaped table called a triclinium.
08:51 I've got a kind of a piece of art
08:53 that is not perfect in the looks.
08:56 Most likely, the disciples would have been more lounging
08:58 in each other's laps,
08:59 like literally kind of laying over another,
09:02 which would be unusual for our times,
09:04 but very intimate and appropriate for their time.
09:06 And they're having this beautiful, holy meal
09:11 with something that is displayed very clearly.
09:13 What do you see at the edge of this artwork?
09:15 What do you see?
09:16 You see their feet.
09:18 And this would have been unbelievably unusual
09:21 because they're celebrating this meal
09:24 while eating with dirty feet.
09:28 So Jesus is lounging at the table,
09:32 celebrating the Passover.
09:33 One of the later moments in his life,
09:36 and he's eating with the disciples who had dirty feet.
09:40 So what is the first thing that Jesus did?
09:44 He got up.
09:46 He got up.
09:49 I wanna tell some of you to have a meaningful life.
09:52 You gotta get up.
09:53 You gotta get, in fact,
09:54 when I look at the most meaningful moments in my life,
09:59 almost none of them were sitting down.
10:02 Think about it.
10:03 I mean, at the end of my life,
10:04 I was like, I just love that Netflix time.
10:06 It was so amazing.
10:08 I loved all those hours of scrolling,
10:10 looking at other people on social media.
10:12 Almost all the meaningful moments
10:15 were not sitting down.
10:16 They were when I was standing up.
10:18 I wasn't sitting when I was born.
10:20 I wasn't sitting when I took my first step.
10:23 I wasn't sitting the first time I rode a bicycle
10:25 or hit my first home run.
10:26 I wasn't sitting when I knelt down
10:30 to give my life to Jesus.
10:32 I wasn't sitting when I taught my first Bible study.
10:35 I wasn't sitting when I took Amy out on a date.
10:38 I wasn't sitting when I proposed to Amy.
10:40 I wasn't sitting when I watched her have baby number one
10:42 or baby number two or baby number three
10:44 or baby number four or baby number five
10:46 or baby number six.
10:47 And I wasn't sitting when baby number one got baptized
10:49 and kid number two got baptized
10:51 and kid number three got baptized
10:52 and kid number one got married
10:53 and kid number two got married.
10:55 I'm not sitting now while I'm sharing God's Word with you.
10:59 I would say to really have a life that matters,
11:03 you might wanna turn the TV off.
11:06 You might wanna set the phone down and get up.
11:09 Somebody needs to get up.
11:11 Get up if you wanna have a life that matters.
11:13 I promise you, to have a life that honors God,
11:16 to have a life that you love, you gotta get up.
11:19 Jesus got up.
11:21 He took off his outer clothing
11:24 and wrapped a servant's towel around his waist.
11:26 What's interesting is he removed what was on the outside
11:30 and suddenly you could see what was on the inside of him.
11:34 Humility.
11:35 He removed what was on the outside
11:38 and you could see what was on the inside.
11:40 A humble heart to serve.
11:42 I wonder if we could metaphorically speaking,
11:46 remove the facade that we all put on our outsides,
11:49 what would be revealed on our insides?
11:53 Because I can tell you right now in my life,
11:56 there are so many times that if you saw
11:58 what was on the inside, you'd say,
12:00 "Pastor Craig, you're not looking so good right now."
12:04 Because a lot of times on the inside,
12:05 there's more of an entitled spirit.
12:07 Like I'm too good for that and I don't have time for that
12:10 and I'm not gonna do that and that's someone else's deal
12:12 and I'm not, that's beneath me.
12:15 When Jesus got up, removed his outer garment
12:18 and revealed a humble heart of a servant on the inside.
12:23 See, what I've learned is that God doesn't just care
12:26 what you do, but he cares about the way that you do it.
12:29 There are times when I do the right thing,
12:31 but my heart's not right.
12:33 And you can do the right thing with the wrong heart,
12:36 the wrong motives and it's still wrong to God.
12:39 So in humility, Jesus got up, took off his outer clothing,
12:44 put on a slave's apron and he poured water into a basin
12:49 and then what did he do?
12:51 He knelt down and he washed the water
12:56 and he washed the disciples' feet.
12:59 It is entirely impossible to completely
13:11 and accurately describe how jolting,
13:16 shocking, unexpected this one act of sacrifice
13:23 and how un-act of self-sacrificial service
13:28 would have been to the disciples.
13:30 They would have never in a million years ever imagined
13:37 that Jesus, the Son of God, would do the job of a servant.
13:42 And for context, they were at a Passover meal,
13:48 a formal meal that was a tradition for generations
13:51 when the people of God would gather to celebrate
13:54 the faithfulness of God, the goodness of God,
13:57 the forgiveness of God.
13:58 And in the middle of that, an argument breaks out
14:01 between the disciples.
14:04 In the middle of the holy meal,
14:06 the disciples start arguing with each other.
14:11 What are they arguing about?
14:12 They wanna know, according to the loose gospel,
14:18 who's the ghost?
14:20 Who's the greatest of all time?
14:23 Like literally, they're sitting there at the Passover meal
14:26 with Jesus like, who's the most important person
14:28 in the room?
14:29 Who's got the most followers?
14:31 Who's verified on Instagram?
14:32 I'm not talking about the way,
14:34 the one that you buy for money.
14:35 I'm talking about the real verification,
14:36 you know, back in the old days
14:38 when it really meant something.
14:40 Who's the most important?
14:41 And I can almost imagine this is not in the Bible,
14:43 but I'm reading into it.
14:44 I'm guessing John, because when you read John's gospel,
14:48 he says that he was the one that Jesus loved.
14:51 I'm guessing John's going like, obviously me,
14:52 because I am the one that Jesus loved.
14:54 That's what he's saying.
14:55 Peter, if I'm Peter, I'm going, yeah,
14:57 hey, I'm the one that walked on water.
14:58 It's all me.
14:59 You losers, you stayed in the boat.
15:01 I walked on water.
15:02 I'm the greatest.
15:03 What we know is it wasn't Bartholomew.
15:06 He's just sitting there being quiet,
15:08 going nobody even knows I'm a disciple,
15:10 so I know it's not me, all right?
15:11 Whatever it is, okay, these guys are arguing.
15:14 Who's the greatest?
15:16 Who's the goat?
15:18 Who's the goat?
15:19 And Jesus looks across the room,
15:23 and when he looks across the room, what does he see?
15:25 He sees proud hearts and dirty feet.
15:30 When Jesus, who's about to give his life for disciples,
15:38 scans the room of those he's loving
15:41 to the fullest extent and to the end,
15:44 he sees two things.
15:45 Type in the comments section, what did he see?
15:47 He sees proud hearts and he sees dirty feet.
15:52 So what did Jesus do?
15:55 He saw a need, and he must have thought something like,
16:01 I can wash feet.
16:03 This one's mine.
16:06 So he got up and he knelt down.
16:13 To kneel down, you gotta get up.
16:16 He got up, he knelt down, and what did he do?
16:21 He washed the disciples' feet.
16:25 Jesus, feel it, the Son of the Most High God,
16:32 our living water, the good shepherd, the true vine,
16:38 the bread of life, the light of the world,
16:42 the living stone, the King of glory,
16:45 the Prince of Peace, our great high priest,
16:50 the righteous judge, the chosen one,
16:55 the King of kings and the Lord of lords,
16:57 the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last,
17:00 the beginning and the end, our Redeemer,
17:02 our rock, our sanctification, our righteousness,
17:08 the Lamb of God who is about to be slain
17:12 for the sins of the world, knelt down
17:16 and washed dirty feet.
17:20 What did Jesus do?
17:26 He saw a need and thought, I can do this.
17:32 He showed his love to the very end
17:36 because there is no end to his love.
17:40 Now, that raises the question,
17:45 why didn't any of the other disciples take that job?
17:48 Why didn't Peter go, I see dirty feet, I can do that?
17:53 Why didn't any of the other disciples wash the feet?
17:57 Well, we can be pretty certain that any of them
17:59 would've washed Jesus' feet
18:02 'cause that would've been an important job.
18:04 But if they had washed Jesus' feet,
18:06 they wouldn't wanna wash anybody else's feet
18:08 because that puts them beneath everybody else
18:10 and that would rank them lower than those around them.
18:15 In other words, they were too proud to serve one another.
18:20 Aren't you thankful that we're not like that?
18:23 (congregation laughing)
18:24 Why are you laughing?
18:25 I mean, aren't you thankful that we're not like that
18:28 or are we?
18:30 What makes it even worse sometimes in our churches,
18:35 in our pride, sometimes in our pride,
18:37 we often criticize those with dirty feet
18:39 instead of washing them.
18:40 Can we just stop there for a moment and recognize
18:46 who was one of the disciples that Jesus' feet he washed?
18:52 Who betrayed him?
18:54 Judas, did Jesus know that Judas would betray him?
18:57 And what did Jesus do?
18:58 He washed his feet.
19:01 And you were like, those people don't look like us,
19:03 they shouldn't be a part of us.
19:05 And in our pride, we often criticize those with dirty feet
19:10 instead of dealing to wash them.
19:14 I wonder how often God looks at our churches today
19:22 and see something similar to that.
19:26 Because some of us here, we've accepted cleansing
19:31 from Jesus, he washed our feet.
19:33 We've been forgiven of a lot.
19:37 I don't know about you, but I've been forgiven of a lot.
19:40 And yet sometimes we're still too proud
19:42 to wash someone else's feet.
19:43 Who's the greatest?
19:47 Who's the greatest?
19:51 In the kingdom of God, greatness isn't about status,
19:55 it's about service.
19:58 Because we can't truly love Jesus without serving people.
20:03 I was in a hardware store and I saw a lady
20:11 that was older, mid-70s, tiny, frail.
20:16 And she was trying to get these big hedge clipper things
20:19 down and I walked up to her and said,
20:21 ma'am, can I help you with those?
20:22 And she said, do you work here?
20:24 I said, no, no, but I'm happy to help you.
20:26 And I got 'em down for her and I just started thinking,
20:28 like, what in the world is she gonna do with that?
20:30 I said, so I said, what in the world
20:32 are you gonna do with that?
20:33 And she said, I'm gonna trim some trees.
20:35 They were bigger than her, there's no way
20:37 she's gonna trim some trees.
20:38 And so my mind raced and I thought of all the reasons
20:43 why I was too busy to offer what I was about to do.
20:46 And then I just thought, you know what?
20:48 I can do this one.
20:51 This one's mine.
20:54 And so I said, would you mind if I helped you
20:57 trim your trees?
20:58 And she said, are you a yard boy?
21:00 (audience laughing)
21:02 And I said, today I am.
21:04 And I just think that some of you,
21:07 if you're open to what the Holy Spirit might say to you,
21:11 if you wanna become great, you might watch for a need,
21:14 you might see a need and you might think,
21:15 I can do that one, this one's mine.
21:18 A friend needs help moving, I can do that, this one's mine.
21:23 You hear at Switch, amazing movement,
21:26 this ministering to teens all over our church,
21:28 they need adult volunteers to come and love on kids.
21:31 I think, you know what?
21:32 My Wednesday's free, I can do that, this one's mine.
21:36 You're at one of those campuses at Life.Church,
21:38 like most of them where they're full at the 10 and 11,
21:41 30 service and your campus pastor said,
21:43 could you come to another one and make room
21:44 for people far from God?
21:45 You know what?
21:46 I can get up an hour early, I can sleep in an hour more,
21:48 I can do that one, this one's mine.
21:52 Your pastor says you need help in the baby's room
21:54 and you think, I can change a diaper,
21:56 I can be a butt wiper for the glory of Jesus.
22:00 This one's mine, you see a need and you think,
22:03 I can do this, this one's mine
22:05 because it is impossible to love Jesus and not serve people.
22:10 (congregation applauding)
22:15 At this moment, we're gonna welcome back
22:18 our local team teachers.
22:21 So I'm gonna look and I'm gonna welcome them back.
22:23 Hey, can you help us say thank you today
22:26 to our amazing team teachers?
22:27 Thank you for sharing God's word.
22:30 We praise God for every single one of you.
22:33 Thank you for being a light at your local campus
22:36 and let's wrap it up.
22:37 In the kingdom of God, greatness isn't about status,
22:41 it's about serving.
22:42 Therefore, if you are a follower of Jesus,
22:45 let me just say, if you are, if you're not,
22:47 this isn't for you, but if you're a disciple of Jesus,
22:49 if you're a part of the church, the body of Christ,
22:53 every part of the body matters.
22:56 Every part, that means you, every part has a role.
23:00 Therefore, if you are a part of the body of Christ
23:03 in his church, not serving somewhere in the church,
23:06 that means that something that God wants to be done
23:09 is not being done.
23:12 That means that there is a need that God wants to be met
23:15 that isn't being met because you're not doing
23:18 what you were assigned and called to do.
23:22 Think of the excuses that Jesus could have given.
23:25 He saw dirty feet.
23:28 He could have said, "And the disciples
23:30 "are being all entitled and they don't deserve it,
23:34 "Judas especially."
23:36 But because of his love,
23:38 because there was no end to his love,
23:42 he would say the same thing that he did.
23:44 He would say, "Serve anyway.
23:48 "Serve anyway."
23:50 Because there was no end to his love, he served anyway.
23:53 And I'll shoot very, very straight with you.
23:56 When you serve, some people will take you for granted.
24:00 Serve anyway.
24:03 Some people will just expect it when you do it
24:09 and not understand the sacrifices.
24:11 Serve anyway.
24:13 Some people will never say thank you.
24:15 They'll never appreciate it.
24:17 Serve anyway, because you can't love Jesus
24:21 and not serve people.
24:23 For me,
24:25 I have to,
24:31 because I had a proud heart and dirty feet,
24:35 thinking I could do it on my own,
24:40 thinking I could be good enough,
24:41 thinking I was better than other people.
24:43 The whole time with dirty, filthy, ugly, sinful feet.
24:48 And due to no credit of my own whatsoever,
24:54 the Son of God, who didn't come to be served,
25:00 but to serve, gave his life as a ransom for my sins.
25:06 He washed my feet.
25:09 He forgave me.
25:13 And he says, "Greatness isn't about status.
25:17 "It's about service."
25:20 So family, what are you waiting for?
25:26 What are you waiting for?
25:29 You see a need, think to yourself, I can do that.
25:33 This was mine.
25:35 Stand up, stand up, stand up.
25:39 I'm not gonna sit here on the sideline
25:42 and miss out on all the fun.
25:43 Put your phone down, turn the TV off,
25:46 get up from your self-focused life,
25:49 stand up on the sideline and serve somebody else.
25:53 And then after you stand up,
25:55 kneel down and wash someone's feet.
25:58 Because greatness in the kingdom of God isn't about status.
26:02 It's all about serving.
26:04 It is impossible to love Jesus without serving people.
26:11 So Father, today we ask that you would do a work
26:14 with those watching online
26:18 and those at all of our Life.Church locations.
26:20 Holy Spirit, stir within us a heart to serve.
26:26 As you're praying today without looking around,
26:30 at all of our churches, I wonder how many of you would say,
26:33 man, I am, I am a disciple of Jesus, I am a follower.
26:38 He washed my feet, he made me new.
26:41 And I'm not using my gifts somewhere in the church.
26:46 I wanna get up and make a difference.
26:47 Would you lift your hands now?
26:48 Don't think about it.
26:50 Lift your hands now and say, yes, that's me.
26:52 I wanna make a difference.
26:53 I'm not using my gifts.
26:54 I wanna make a difference.
26:55 Lift your hands up now.
26:56 If you're watching online and that's you,
26:58 you're not serving in a church,
27:00 you're not using your gifts in the community
27:02 and say, I wanna make a difference,
27:03 just type that in the comment section.
27:05 I wanna make a difference.
27:07 I'm gonna pause right now and I'm gonna pray for you.
27:09 There are some of you, your hand didn't even go up
27:11 and I'm gonna pray especially for you.
27:13 God, I pray for every person who is a disciple of Jesus,
27:17 that we would see the calling that you've chosen us,
27:20 you've set us apart to be a light in this world,
27:23 that the greatest are those who serve.
27:26 God, interrupt us, disturb us, show us needs.
27:32 God, help us not just to be so focused on ourselves,
27:38 but say, yes, I'll serve others in the church
27:41 that help change my life.
27:43 I'm not just a spiritual consumer.
27:47 God, help me to be a spiritual contributor.
27:49 God, show us people at our work that we can serve,
27:52 in our school, even as we go out throughout the day.
27:56 I pray, God, that every day we would see a time
28:00 when you interrupted us and we say, yeah, I can do that.
28:03 This one's mine.
28:04 We'll give you the glory
28:07 when you give us those opportunities.
28:09 God, for everyone who is a follower of Jesus,
28:10 I pray that you would give them, show them the opportunity,
28:15 stay on them lovingly, that they're a part of the church.
28:19 Your church needs their gifts.
28:22 If they are not yet using their gifts
28:24 somewhere in the church, God, stir within them to say,
28:26 hey, I can do that.
28:29 This one's mine, because we know it's impossible
28:34 to love Jesus without serving your people.
28:36 As you keep praying today, wherever you're watching from,
28:41 some of you would say, hey, you're talking about those
28:43 who are disciples of Jesus, and that's not me.
28:48 I mean, you may have even grown up in the church,
28:52 but you're not faithfully walking with Jesus.
28:56 If we sat down across from each other and I just ask you,
28:59 how's it going with you spiritually?
29:02 Like, where do you stand with God?
29:03 If there's any hesitation, any him hauling around,
29:06 any like, ah, I'm not sure, whatever,
29:08 let me just be as clear as I can
29:10 and tell you about the love of God.
29:12 God loves you.
29:14 He loves all of you.
29:15 He loves you.
29:16 He loves you so much that he became one of you.
29:21 Who is Jesus?
29:23 He is God in the flesh.
29:26 He is the Son of God.
29:28 And Jesus was perfect in every way.
29:30 He's called the Lamb of God.
29:31 He was without sin.
29:34 And he was sacrificed in the Old Testament,
29:36 a lamb for temporary forgiveness of sins.
29:38 He is the Lamb of God who was slain
29:40 for the permanent forgiveness of your sins.
29:42 He shed innocent blood, died in your place,
29:45 and God raised him from the dead.
29:46 And he did that so that anybody,
29:49 and let me just tell you, when I say anybody,
29:50 that means anybody, you, no matter what you've done,
29:53 no matter who you are, no matter how far you feel from God,
29:56 no matter how many questions you have,
29:57 no matter how many doubts are in your mind,
29:59 anyone who calls on his name, he'll wash your feet.
30:04 He will forgive all of your sins.
30:08 And he makes you new.
30:10 He did not come to condemn the world.
30:13 This is what the Bible says.
30:14 He came to save the world.
30:17 He came to serve, to give his life as a ransom for you.
30:22 Our only reasonable response is not to join a church
30:28 or become a religion.
30:29 Our only reasonable response is to say, take all of my life.
30:32 And when he takes all your life,
30:33 you just start to be a part of a church
30:34 'cause you just can't help it
30:36 because he's washed your feet.
30:39 Today, for those of you that you don't know
30:41 where you stand with God, you feel far from God,
30:44 you've walked away from God, Jesus is inviting you to come.
30:49 He's ready to wash your feet.
30:51 He's ready to forgive your sins.
30:53 He's ready to make you new.
30:55 If you need his forgiveness, if you need his grace,
30:57 we're just gonna turn away from the old life,
30:59 we're gonna turn away from our sin.
31:00 We're gonna turn to him.
31:01 We're gonna call on his name.
31:03 And when you do, he hears your prayers,
31:05 he'll forgive all of your sins.
31:06 And in a moment, you become new.
31:08 The old is gone and the new has come.
31:10 Wherever you're watching from today, you're here,
31:12 not by accident, you're here because God loves you
31:15 and this is your time.
31:16 I need his forgiveness, I need his grace.
31:18 Today, I step away from my sin.
31:20 Today, I give my life to Christ.
31:21 That's your prayer.
31:22 Lift your hands high right now, all over the place.
31:24 Lift them up.
31:24 Praise God, people, right now, as we see
31:26 at all of our churches, we see people saying yes to Jesus.
31:29 (congregation applauding)
31:31 Those of you online, I want you to type it
31:33 in the comment section.
31:35 I am surrendering my life to Jesus.
31:37 Put it in your own words.
31:38 I'm choosing to follow Jesus.
31:40 Type it in the comment section today.
31:42 We're gonna pray with people all over the world
31:44 and then we're gonna go crazy because we serve a good God.
31:47 We have a savior who washed his feet.
31:49 Would you pray aloud, pray, Heavenly Father,
31:51 forgive my sins.
31:53 Jesus, save me.
31:55 Make me brand new.
31:57 Thank you for washing my feet.
32:00 Thank you for forgiving my sins.
32:03 Thank you for making me new.
32:05 Change me.
32:08 My life is not my own.
32:10 I give it all to you.
32:12 Use me to serve others and glorify you.
32:16 Thank you for new life.
32:18 You have all of mine.
32:20 In Jesus' name, I pray.
32:22 Come on, church, let's celebrate today.
32:24 Let's welcome those born into God's family.
32:26 (congregation cheering)
