00:48 - T-plus 30 seconds, if you can hear me over the cheering.
00:52 Falcon Heavy heading to space on our test flight.
00:56 Building on the history of Saturn V Apollo,
00:59 returning pad 39A to interplanetary mission.
01:02 We're getting ready to throttle down for Max Q.
01:06 (crowd cheering)
01:09 (crowd cheering)
01:12 - Vehicle is supersonic.
01:24 - You've heard the call out, vehicle is supersonic.
01:27 - T-minus 15 seconds.
01:30 - Vehicle's flight pressure.
01:31 - And nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one.
01:39 (crowd cheering)
01:42 - Vehicle's mission coverage.
01:57 - And we're beginning B-flying.
02:00 (crowd cheering)
02:03 - Enter core at deep throttle.
02:16 - T-plus 33 seconds into flight.
02:20 Under the power of 5.1 million pounds of thrust,
02:23 Falcon Heavy is headed to space.
02:26 We're throttling down at T-plus 40 seconds
02:28 and prepare for maximum dynamic pressure.
02:31 - Power and telemetry are nominal.
02:35 - We're hearing reports.
02:38 Power and telemetry are nominal.
02:40 - Vehicle is supersonic.
02:46 - You may have heard the call out on net one.
02:49 Vehicle is supersonic.
02:51 Side boosters are throttling back up on power
02:54 as we're through the period of maximum dynamic pressure.
02:58 (crowd cheering)
03:01 - T-minus 15 seconds.
03:02 And nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one.
03:11 Zero.
03:17 - Okay, position.
03:19 (plane engine roaring)
03:23 - T-plus mission downrange.
03:30 (plane engine roaring)
03:33 - T-plus 25 seconds into flight
03:45 under the thrust of over 5 million pounds.
03:48 Falcon Heavy is headed to space.
03:51 We're getting ready to throttle down
03:53 for passing through the period of maximum dynamic pressure.
03:57 We've heard call out of throttle bucket for side core.
04:03 We're through max Q.
04:04 - Vehicle is supersonic.
04:18 - Everything continuing to look good
04:20 on the Merlin 1D engines.
04:22 We're throttling back up on the side boosters to full power.
04:27 A minute 15 seconds into flight.
04:33 Performance looks nominal.
04:35 - T-minus 10, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three,
04:47 two, one.
04:48 - Zero.
04:50 Lift off.
04:51 (plane engine roaring)
04:55 - Vehicle is pitching downrange.
05:07 - And with the chamber pressure nominal.
05:10 (plane engine roaring)
05:14 (crowd cheering)
05:17 (crowd cheering)
05:35 - Nominal power and kilometry.
05:42 - 5,000 pounds of thrust headed to space.
05:46 The throttle down in preparation for max Q,
05:50 moment of peak mechanical stress on the rocket.
05:53 - Falcon Heavy is supersonic.
05:54 - There we just heard the call out
05:55 that the vehicle is now traveling faster
05:57 than the speed of sound.
05:58 What a beautiful sight.
06:00 - 15 seconds.
06:09 - T-minus 10, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four,
06:14 three, two, one.
06:19 Engine full power.
06:21 And lift off of USFM 67.
06:23 Go Falcon Heavy.
06:25 Go Space Force.
06:39 - Extra chamber pressures are nominal.
06:40 - T-plus 40 seconds into flight
07:02 under the power of 5 million pounds of thrust.
07:06 - Power and telemetry nominal.
07:07 - Falcon Heavy is headed to space.
07:11 Now we did throttle down the engines
07:13 around the T-plus 40 second mark.
07:15 - Vehicle is supersonic.
07:16 - In preparation for max Q.
07:18 - Max Q.
07:19 - And great call out there
07:20 that we have passed through max Q.
07:23 That's the largest mechanical stress
07:25 on the vehicle on ascent.
07:27 And incredible, incredible views there on your screen.
07:32 Falcon Heavy in flight.
07:37 - T-minus 10, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four,
07:42 three, two, one.
07:47 Engines full power.
07:49 And lift off of Viasat 3.
07:52 Go Viasat.
07:53 Go Falcon Heavy.
07:54 - Vehicle is pitching downrange.
08:03 - And when the chamber pressure is nominal.
08:05 (engine roaring)
08:08 - We are 30 seconds into flight
08:20 under the power of 5 million pounds of thrust.
08:24 Falcon Heavy is headed to space.
08:26 Now we are throttling down our engines
08:30 on those side boosters
08:31 and that's in preparation for max Q.
08:33 - Power and telemetry nominal.
08:35 - Max Q is the moment of peak mechanical stress.
08:39 - Falcon Heavy is supersonic.
08:41 - Peak mechanical stress on the vehicle.
08:43 So we do slow down the vehicle
08:44 to get through this period of high stress.
08:48 And once we pass through max Q,
08:49 we will throttle those engines back up
08:51 on those side boosters.
08:52 - Max Q.
08:52 - And great call out.
08:55 We have passed through max Q.
08:57 So we're gonna throttle up those engines again
08:59 on these side boosters.
09:01 (engine roaring)
09:04 You can follow along the telemetry on your left hand,
09:09 on the bottom left hand of your screen.
09:11 You can see the speed and the altitude of the vehicle
09:14 and some incredible views of Falcon Heavy in flight.
09:20 Now, two minutes into flight,
09:23 we will reduce the thrust on the two side boosters again
09:26 and that will be to decrease the forces
09:28 on the vehicle structure.
09:29 And that's because the vehicle is now lighter
09:31 as we're burning through the fuel on the vehicle,
09:34 but the thrust will remain constant.
09:36 Wow, that looks amazing on the screen,
09:44 all three boosters burning bright there.
09:46 (upbeat music)
09:50 (upbeat music)
