00:00 I'm proud to be someone who understands concepts like respect and basic human decency.
00:04 So YouTube launched a campaign yesterday to spotlight some of its LGBT creators.
00:09 It's called #ProudToBe and features the likes of people like myself, fellow What's
00:13 Trending host Ava Gordy, and a slew of other amazing people like Gigi Gorgeous and Kat
00:17 Black, Ingrid Nilsson, Tyler Oakley, Troye Sivan, and LO Steph.
00:21 The goal was to commemorate Pride Month and also pay tribute to the victims of the horrible
00:25 shooting at Pulse in Orlando.
00:27 But unfortunately, the main thing they're spotlighting is some of the worst trolls that
00:31 humanity has to offer.
00:36 Because homophobes can't just click away from something that they don't like, they
00:39 have to put their idiocy on display for the world to see.
00:42 Yay Theo!
00:43 #ProudNotToBeFuckedInTheHead.
00:45 Not so sure about that, sweetie.
00:47 Alex, there are three genders, male, female, mental disorder.
00:50 Kindly present your mental health credentials and maybe I'll take what you have to say
00:54 seriously.
00:55 The LGBT flag is a rainbow flag.
00:57 Rainbows are a natural occurrence, unlike gays.
01:00 Tell that to the 150+ species where same-sex relationships have been documented.
01:05 Homophobia, on the other hand, just one.
01:07 Naturally, there are lots of people in the LGBT+ community who have taken notice as to
01:12 the clusterfuck in the comments section.
01:14 Kes Leon, look at YouTube's #ProudToBe comments and tell me that homophobia and transphobia
01:18 aren't still alive.
01:20 We may have won marriage equality, but we've still got a long way to go.
01:23 Anthony DeLuca, oh hey girl, hey.
01:25 Saddened to see all the negative responses to the #ProudToBe campaign.
01:28 Homophobia, xenophobia, and hate speech shouldn't be tolerated.
01:32 And yet, here we are.
01:34 Cookies, the homophobia and transphobia on the new #ProudToBe video is so sickening.
01:39 YouTube is also encouraging people to upload their own #ProudToBe videos so that they can
01:43 come together to be verbally harassed.
01:46 So far, YouTube has yet to make an actual statement about all the negative comments
01:49 that the video and the campaign has gotten.
01:52 Way to hang us out to dry there, guys.
