Ryan Lochte told NBC the other day that him and his buddies were mugged at gunpoint in Rio. Turns out that whole story is a whole lot of horse puckey.

00:00 Ryan Lochte may be a lying moron, but at least he's brought home 12 Olympic medals.
00:04 USA! USA!
00:06 So earlier this week, Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte told reporters that he and his friends
00:10 were robbed at gunpoint.
00:12 But now, as it turns out, the whole thing never actually happened.
00:17 Do you want to change your bullsh*t story, sir?
00:19 Brazilian authorities detained his buddies Jack Conger and Gunnar Bens, because elements
00:24 of the stories that they told didn't really add up.
00:27 They pulled us over, they pulled out their guns, they told the other swimmers to get
00:33 down on the ground, they got down on the ground.
00:35 I refused.
00:36 I was like, we didn't do anything wrong.
00:38 No you couldn't.
00:39 So, I'm not getting down on the ground.
00:42 And so after a little bit of questioning, they confess that Lochte just made the entire
00:46 story up.
00:47 So apparently what actually happened is that Lochte and friends got into an argument with
00:51 an armed security guard after they broke down a bathroom door.
00:55 So why lie about this in the first place, despite the fact that there are cameras literally
01:01 everywhere?
01:02 Word around the interwebs is that Lochte allegedly first made up this story when he was on the
01:05 phone with his mom.
01:06 Which makes more sense.
01:09 But lucky for him and for everybody else on the team, the statement from the IOC seems
01:13 to be pretty conciliatory.
01:15 It says, "Let's give these kids a break.
01:18 Sometimes you make decisions that you later regret.
01:20 They had fun, they made a mistake, life goes on."
01:23 But to be fair, Ryan Lochte is a grown man who is 32 years old.
01:27 So boys will be boys?
01:30 Kaelin Kelly says, "If it turns out Lochte filed a false report, I look forward to people
01:34 bringing up the case every single time a man says he's been robbed."
01:37 Guy Endor-Kaiser says, "Sir, you're under oath.
01:40 How much did you lie?
01:41 A little or a Lochte?"
01:43 Anti-Donna Hugh says, "Anyways, I heard that after these Olympics, Ryan Lochte will be
01:46 the official spokesperson for white male privilege.
01:49 So congratulations."
01:51 I mean, I can't think of anyone more qualified.
