00:00 Okay, we all know the news. Disney's Maker Studios have cut ties with PewDiePie as
00:03 well as YouTube Red, and the reactions are mixed. A lot of his fans are coming
00:08 forward to support him, and we see this even in our own video where we did
00:12 indeed report the facts, and we're given a lot of hate just because we talked
00:18 about the fine line of comedy and how obviously some people might be insulted
00:23 by a statement like "kill the Jews." So besides what's trending posting about
00:27 this, a lot of other YouTube stars have reacted. Casey emphasized that he doesn't
00:30 think PewDiePie is a mean guy or he's trying to overtly spread hate, but he
00:35 does have 53 million subscribers, all of whom are very young and impressionable,
00:39 and that comes with a responsibility. Whether he wants it or not, and whether
00:43 YouTube wants it or not, PewDiePie does represent this platform. And when
00:47 speaking of the idea of free speech, Christina Estima tweets "PewDiePie vs.
00:50 free speech" by Casey Neistat. Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from
00:54 consequences. Meanwhile, YouTuber KSI defended PewDiePie, saying that all
00:57 beef aside, PewDiePie getting dropped by Maker over a joke is absolutely
01:01 ridiculous. Thank God I left them last year. YouTuber Phil DeFranco thinks that
01:04 the jokes were taken out of context. "I don't believe that it was Felix's
01:07 intention to promote hate, but there was definitely a group of people that were
01:10 cheering that on, cheering him on for normalizing nuts." He has groups of fans
01:13 that actually think that these statements are awesome and correct, and
01:17 that's the scary thing. NH3H3 Productions' Ethan Klein is a friend of
01:21 Felix, and was enraged by all of this. "It breaks my heart that YouTube and Maker
01:26 and Disney caved to this fake outrage. Walt Disney was a notorious racist and
01:32 anti-Semite." On Twitter, #PewDiePieDidNothingWrong is trending, with
01:36 even PewDiePie using his own social platforms to jump into the conversation.
01:39 The Janus tweeted "Free speech is not the same as giving everyone a platform for
01:43 their hate." And PewDiePie responded "You can't put a label on what's freedom of
01:47 speech and what's not dumbass." And yes, comedy is comedy, a joke is a joke, and
01:52 then there's free speech. But I think we can all agree that within comedy, there
01:55 is a fine line. Comedy that makes a statement, and comedy that may be in bad
02:01 taste. And to act like this isn't a hit on his career would be stupid, because it
02:05 is. Will he be fine? I'm sure he has a lot of money, and he's gonna continue doing
02:10 what he does, he's gonna find his way, and we're sending you positivity, and we
02:15 wish you the best of luck. So what does the future hold for PewDiePie? Let us
02:18 know in the comments below. For more trends like these, just go to whatstrending.com.
