Marc Cucurella to Man United? Matheus Nunes? To Man City? Ryan Gravenberch to Liverpool? The transfer window might nearly be shut, but there are still a number of huge moves between Europe's biggest clubs.

00:00 Ah, so that's how you spell Suboz like.
00:06 Oh hello everybody, what a read this is by the way.
00:08 Adam Cleary from 442 here and just like me in university, football clubs absolutely love
00:15 leaving everything to the last possible minute.
00:17 In fact there's so much excitement at the end of the transfer window that Jim White
00:21 managed to carve out a career as a beloved television broadcaster purely by virtue of
00:26 being on shift when Man City signed Rubinho.
00:29 So with approximately I don't have a watch on left in the window, what big deals could
00:34 we still possibly see?
00:36 Let's look at all of them right now.
00:39 Alright we're going to start with a weird one that has literally only just broken as
00:44 I sat down to record this and that is Cole Palmer to Chelsea.
00:48 So yeah, bit of a weird one this.
00:50 Fabrizio Romano, my friend and yours, reported that Chelsea have added Cole Palmer to their
00:55 list of attacking signings.
00:56 Now Chelsea are still definitely in the market for one more attacking signing.
01:00 You'll remember they went after Michael Alissie at Crystal Palace, that got rebuffed, then
01:04 they wanted Brendan Johnson from Nottingham Forest but didn't quite like the £40m fee
01:08 and it looks like Palmer is now their biggest target.
01:11 Now Man City's position on this remains a little bit unclear.
01:14 You remember he starred in the Community Shield, looked like he'd gone and won the thing for
01:18 him and he was fantastic in the under 21 Euro so this really does feel like a season where
01:23 he needs to start getting proper game time but Pep, when questioned about it, was like
01:27 "I dunno".
01:29 City traditionally don't really favour the loan market for players like this so it did
01:32 kind of look like he might be open to leaving but couldn't really find the right club.
01:36 Now Chelsea would obviously be a great place for him to go and play his football, he does
01:39 feel like he would fit into that Pochettino side really, really well but it's whether
01:43 or not Man City currently see Chelsea as a direct rival.
01:47 If they do, it's unlikely they would allow that move to go through but the early reports
01:50 of this are that Palmer would be interested in that transfer so, want to watch in the
01:55 last couple of hours.
01:56 And speaking of Man City, probably the biggest Premier League transfer still on the table
02:00 this summer is indeed Wolves Mateus Nunes to Manchester City.
02:04 Now this one isn't a question of whether or not City are interested, they definitely,
02:07 definitely are.
02:08 They have put in bids to Wolves and they have so far been rejected.
02:12 The latest, a £51.5m bid was knocked back and Nunes responded to this very professionally,
02:18 very sensibly by just going on strike and refusing to play.
02:21 Gary O'Neill was obviously asked about this after their Carabao Cup game and he said as
02:25 far as he's concerned the situation is very clear, they have a valuation for the player,
02:29 if that's met then he will be allowed to leave and if it's not, then he won't.
02:32 Now you would imagine City will be coming back in with another bid because there's obviously
02:36 not long left and they were desperate to add another sort of midfield option following
02:41 the injury to Kevin De Bruyne.
02:42 They went after Paqueta originally and well, we all know how that one ended up so Nunes
02:47 is definitely their top target.
02:49 Guardiola has even said he thinks he's one of the best players in the world.
02:53 Basically one of two things is definitely going to happen here, either Man City are
02:56 going to get their man or Nunes is going to have one of the most awkward training sessions
03:01 you've ever seen come about Monday.
03:03 Now moving across to the other side of Manchester, there's a bit of a, how do I put this, mad
03:09 one.
03:10 Injuries to both Lukeshaw and Molassi mean that they entered the last few days of the
03:13 window probably needing to go out and get a left back.
03:16 Certainly that's the noises coming out of the club.
03:18 And while I think everybody expected them to follow their usual pattern of just looking
03:22 at all the players that Eric Ten Hag has managed previously and picking one off there, hello
03:26 Tagliafico, instead they've just gone bananas and are going for Marc Cucaracha.
03:31 Now just put aside the fact that Brighton are probably wetting their pants at this,
03:35 having just sold them for 65 million last year and now seeing them getting turfed out
03:39 on loan is hilarious to them.
03:41 Cucaracha is still a really, really good player.
03:45 And as a result of this, the main sticking point seems to be that Chelsea want a simply
03:48 eye-watering loan fee rumoured to be around the £7 million mark.
03:52 And it's not even believed Man United have that kind of budget to play with given how
03:56 close they're pushing to their current FFP limit.
03:58 But despite all that, the noises coming out of journalists covering both Man United and
04:02 Chelsea are that this deal is actually quite likely to happen.
04:06 There'll be some kind of compromise on the fee.
04:08 There might even have to be an obligation to buy somewhere down the line, but it is
04:12 believed the two clubs will come to an agreement.
04:14 Now obviously what would make life a lot easier for Man United is if they could get any outgoings
04:18 happening in the next two days.
04:19 And that brings us very nicely to Harry Maguire going to West Ham United.
04:24 Now being a bit of a soap opera this one, already it looked for all the world that Maguire
04:27 was going to go to West Ham.
04:28 I think there was a fee agreed and they had pretty much everything worked out.
04:32 But then Maguire decided he didn't like that move and wasn't going to take it and wanted
04:35 to fight for his place at Man United instead.
04:37 Now that probably seemed like quite a good idea at the time, but in Man United's opening
04:40 game against Wolves, Ten Hag hauled Martinez off because he was on a yellow card and he
04:44 was in the danger zone and brought on Viktor Lindelof instead, despite that left-sided
04:49 centre-back position very much being Maguire's.
04:52 And then following the injury to Luke Shaw, there was some talk that maybe they would
04:55 go to a back three and that would give Maguire a way back into the side.
04:58 But now of course they're going to spend quite a bit of money on Kukerea, so that's not even
05:02 happening.
05:03 So it's all well and good fighting for your place, but you might not even get the chance
05:06 to do that.
05:07 And as a result, with West Ham seemingly the only club who were interested in bringing
05:10 him in, that looks to have reopened that situation, potentially as an initial loan, but also possibly
05:16 he might just have given up on staying at Man United and will be open to the full transfer.
05:20 Weirdly, if you're looking for an opinion on this one, I think despite the fact it is
05:23 a little quiet at the minute, I think that's probably going to go through on deadline day.
05:28 I just think Maguire is going to look at the situation and think, I want to stay here,
05:32 but I'm never going to get a fair crack of the whip.
05:34 So I might as well go and play football in what is an international tournament.
05:38 Yeah, he does not want to lose his place in that England side.
05:41 Now while we're on the subject of Manchester United, one player they have been linked with,
05:45 but almost certainly don't have the necessary funds to go out and get, now looks like he
05:49 might be moving closer to a move to Liverpool and that is Ryan Gravenbach.
05:53 It is Gravenbach, it's not Gravenbert, it's Gravenbach.
05:56 Was it Gravenbacht?
05:57 I'm never quite sure on the end of that one.
05:59 Going to go with Gravenbach.
06:00 Now despite how well they controlled the midfield in the game against Newcastle, videos there
06:03 if you want to have a watch of how they did that in an 11 versus 11 game, they do still
06:07 look a little bit fragile and it's believed they want another midfielder in there just
06:11 to steal things up a bit.
06:13 Now Bayern Munich absolutely do not want to let Gravenbach leave, but he is also not getting
06:18 in that side.
06:19 He stayed on the bench at the weekend when it looked like he would have been the most
06:21 logical player to bring on.
06:23 So it's possible he's getting impatient with the development plan they have there and Liverpool
06:27 do see him as a first team player.
06:30 So he may well be internally pushing for that move.
06:33 Now I personally think this one's unlikely both for Man United and for Liverpool at this
06:37 late stage of the window, but might be one that gets picked up again in January.
06:41 Now just finally on Manchester United, it does seem like Dean Henderson may well complete
06:45 a move to Crystal Palace and the reason I say that it looks like that's going to happen
06:48 is because I just went to quickly check to see if it happened or not and it has.
06:52 As I've been recording this, so that's, he ticked that one off.
06:56 £15 million up front and I think another £5 million in add-ons.
06:59 That's good news for Man United because if they weren't going to play him, they'd get
07:02 a bit of money for him that might enable them to go out and get a Kukerea on loan or go
07:06 out and get a Gravenberch.
07:07 So that would, that would, you'd think something might happen for Man United in terms of incomings
07:12 now.
07:13 You'd think.
07:14 Oh, and finally, finally, finally on Manchester United, they are being linked with Pierre
07:17 Emmerich-Huyberg, which is a bit of a random out of left field one, but you could see how
07:21 he could come in and do the kind of job they're looking for somebody to go and do.
07:25 They're certainly looking at the profile of players they've been after in central midfield.
07:28 I'm thinking Amrabat, which now looks like it's not going to happen and Gravenberch,
07:32 which may or may not happen.
07:33 Huyberg's in a similar mould.
07:35 That's another one we could potentially see.
07:37 And speaking of Tottenham Hotspur, I'm really pleased with how nicely these segues are lining
07:42 up.
07:43 By the way, they look like they might still be in for Brennan Johnson from Nottingham
07:46 Forest.
07:47 Now, as I mentioned at the start of the video, Chelsea were having a look at him initially,
07:50 liked him, but didn't think he was necessarily worth the £40 million.
07:54 But Tottenham, they seem to think he is.
07:56 The price we are being told has not changed.
07:59 Forest still value him at around about the £40 million mark after he had such an impressive,
08:04 impressive-ish debut season for them last year.
08:06 The goals weren't exactly off the charts.
08:08 It wasn't like he had to move to a bigger club, but he's definitely someone with a really
08:13 specific skill set.
08:14 And if you look at how Tottenham have been playing already this season, a lot of drive,
08:17 a lot of directness, a lot of pace, a lot of just going at teams.
08:20 Does feel like a really good fit there.
08:22 Again, though, given how late this one is in the window and how Forest would almost
08:25 certainly need to replace him if he did leave, that does kind of make you feel like it's
08:29 more of a January thing than a summer thing.
08:32 But they've got the Kane money, might as well spend it.
08:36 Going abroad now and there are two major transfers still on the cards for Spain's two biggest
08:41 clubs, the first of which being Jao Felix to Barcelona.
08:43 Bit of a weird one, this.
08:45 Almost just sort of feels like Barcelona were like, "Oh yeah, we'll go out and get Jao
08:48 Felix this summer."
08:49 And have just completely forgotten to go and do it.
08:51 Like, there's been all these reports linking him with Saudi Arabia and all these other
08:54 clubs and every single time the feedback is just, "No, he's not interested because he's
08:58 going to go to Barcelona."
09:00 But again, we get here at a hair past a freckle and he still hasn't gone to Barcelona.
09:06 Almost certainly he is going to move in the next two days and you would imagine Barcelona,
09:09 because they do want him and apparently it was all sorted ages ago, is the most likely
09:13 destination.
09:14 There is also talk of two Premier League suitors for him.
09:18 First off, and if you're a Liverpool fan, cover your ears now, if Mo Salah does end
09:21 up going to Saudi Arabia, which I have to be completely honest, I don't think is going
09:24 to happen in a million years, but you just never know, he's apparently the main name
09:29 in the frame, say that ten times fast, to replace him.
09:32 And also, just because Aston Villa haven't done an absolutely mad transfer in a while
09:36 and seemingly learned nothing from getting Philippe Coutinho, apparently Aston Villa
09:41 are interested in him as well.
09:42 You'd have to rate that particular idea pretty far down the list of options for Jao Felix.
09:47 No disrespect to Aston Villa fans because he wants to go to Barcelona, he loves the
09:50 club and he's desperate to go there and that's probably going to happen, but if that doesn't
09:53 happen he can then go to Saudi Arabia and make a bajillion, gillion pounds and if that
09:58 doesn't happen he can potentially go to Liverpool and replace Mo Salah.
10:02 What a transfer that is for him and then after all of that doesn't happen, none of that comes
10:06 to pass, he can go to Aston Villa.
10:08 Again, no disrespect to Aston Villa, that's an incredibly exciting club to be playing
10:12 for right now, it's just, it's not Barcelona and it's not Liverpool and it's not more money
10:18 than Scrooge McDuck.
10:19 And finally, I've saved the most tedious until last, Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid.
10:25 Now you're an intelligent person, you may well think, look, if this one was going to
10:28 happen then it would have already happened, it's one of those big summer transfers like
10:33 the Kane one and while they do drag out they always tend to end before the end of the window
10:37 because there's so much logistically going on you can't leave them that late, so there's
10:40 probably no way Mbappe's going to Madrid this late on, but nah, nah-ah.
10:46 The reports coming out of Madrid all summer were they were going to leave the Mbappe thing
10:50 for now, see what happened with PSG, see if he did get his head turned by Saudi Arabia
10:55 and then go back in for him specifically in the last 48 hours of the window.
11:00 The reason for this is obviously quite tactical because if you have the entire summer to negotiate
11:04 with PSG they will make things an absolute nightmare, they will get every single euro
11:10 out of Madrid they possibly can, but if you go in late and they've already made the decision
11:15 of 'oh maybe we should move him on, he doesn't want to be here, it's a situation we could
11:20 do without' then you kind of force their hand to just accept the first thing that comes
11:24 in because if they don't it ain't going to happen.
11:26 Now of course on the PSG side of this he was out of the side and he was back into the side
11:30 and they reintegrated him and their start to the season was really bad but he's back
11:33 in now so it does look like that has settled down, but they are attempting to build a very
11:38 different PSG now without the sort of mega superstars like Messi and Neymar and build
11:43 a team from the ground up that the fans actually like and are just committed and dedicated
11:47 and not just a bit of a circus freak show and Mbappe, while he's certainly not Messi
11:52 and not Neymar in terms of the circus that surrounds him and he's still a young French
11:57 lad and he probably does love playing at the club, if this one does happen it will probably
12:02 be one of the most exciting deadline day signings you have ever seen and if there are two clubs
12:08 as just insanely run as Real Madrid and PSG, let's not rule it out.
12:15 Right so there you have it then, that is every single major transfer currently on the table
12:18 unless of course you count Wilfred Ndidi going to Nottingham Forest which you probably don't
12:22 and Isaac Hayden going to Luton which you probably don't and again no disrespect to
12:26 Forest or Luton but we've all got stuff to do today, I can't sit here forever.
12:30 Oh and of course while we are on the subject of transfers another major institution looking
12:34 to add to its books this summer is none other than 442, not the magazine obviously us right
12:40 here on the YouTube channel, we are currently hiring for another presenter/producer, that's
12:45 what I do so if you've ever watched these videos and thought I could do this, looks
12:48 really easy then the link is in the description below if you'd like to apply and yes before
12:53 you ask the question whoever gets this job we will do a funny video of them holding the
12:56 shirt announcing them like a signing so you'd have that to look forward to if nothing else.
13:01 As ever we would love to hear from you so whatever club it is you support please let
13:04 us know in the comments below who you think they need to add in the last few days of the
13:09 window or if you're a club and you don't think you need to add anybody just be smug
13:13 about it, tell us how good your shopping was, you get me on twitter @adamclearyclery442
13:18 the socials are always in the corner of the video I don't know why I bother pointing them
13:21 out and until next time happy transfer deadline day everybody, leave your little mince pie
13:27 out for Jim White and wear your yellow tie and I'll see you then, bye.
