00:00 >> All right, so first off, what do you think they did to change things in
00:04 the fourth set, like to turn things around?
00:06 >> Yeah, I think they just did a better job of point scoring in the fourth.
00:12 Felt like we were under control, but when it got into rallies,
00:16 they were figuring out ways to score and we were just kind of bailing them out.
00:19 So they just kind of built some momentum there at the end of the fourth set.
00:22 >> Yeah, and they had you guys in the first set, but
00:27 starting off the second set, you guys were able to turn it around.
00:30 What do you think was the key to changing things so
00:34 drastically going into the second set?
00:36 >> Yeah, I mean, when we're focused, when things are going well,
00:40 we're gonna be fine.
00:41 I was just a little disappointed.
00:44 We talked about trying to get a fast start.
00:46 And obviously tonight, we didn't get a fast start out there, so
00:49 we're kind of playing from behind.
00:51 And we settled in a little bit on offense, a little less errors.
00:54 And statistically, we actually were okay in what we were trying to do.
00:59 But yeah, the second, third set,
01:01 I just felt like a little bit more of our game was alive there.
01:05 >> Okay, how do you feel like the girls up front did against number nine and
01:09 number ten?
01:09 They're obviously pretty good.
01:11 >> Yeah, I mean, we knew that's where the bulk of their offense is, and
01:14 we kind of game planned.
01:15 And I think we got some blocks on them, but they were, number nine specifically,
01:22 was just hitting a good cross court ball that we were struggling defending.
01:26 But overall, I expected them to get their kills.
01:30 We just probably didn't put enough pressure on them for
01:34 the setter to have to run around a little bit.
01:36 They were in system a lot, but that wasn't my concern,
01:39 cuz I feel like we could just score more points than they can.
01:42 >> Gotcha, so looking forward to the next games,
01:46 what is your approach to these tournament style games where you have to play
01:49 a large amount of games in a short amount of time?
01:51 >> Yeah, we're just trying to get into rhythm.
01:52 We're just not in rhythm right now.
01:55 We're still switching lineups around.
01:56 So trying to get our setter hitter rhythm going,
01:59 trying to get our transition consistent.
02:03 We've been just a little higher error than normal, and we just gotta figure that out.
02:08 And yeah, I mean, the schedule's set up to help us for the tournament.
02:13 So we just gotta see if we can battle and get some wins.
02:16 >> Yeah, so they're obviously a really good team and quality competition, but
02:22 how do you prepare for a team that's just as talented, if not more talented,
02:25 in Utah State?
02:26 >> Yeah, I mean, another tournament team, really well coached.
02:30 I think still right now, it's just, it's our side.
02:33 We just need to start rising to our standards.
02:36 And once we start hitting our standards, I think we'll be fine against them.
02:41 But they're well coached, they're gonna be a battle for sure.
02:44 >> Gotcha, and obviously all these games are just getting you ready for
02:46 a big 12 play.
02:47 So what do you think you wanna improve on or
02:50 fine tune the most before big 12 play starts?
02:53 >> Yeah, I mean, like I said earlier, I think it's the rhythm.
02:55 We're not in rhythm right now, we still got new players.
03:00 We're just still trying to figure out the flow and the system.
03:04 So once we get that figured out, I feel a lot more comfortable.
03:08 >> Okay, that's all I got, coach, thank you.
