00:00 The MFDA inspected several streets in Quezon City and their observations.

00:08 James, what is that?

00:10 Good morning. We are here at Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City where the MFDA observed that a large volume of vehicles were being lifted.

00:23 Since the last month, some big schools have been returning to the area.

00:29 In Southbound Lane, 32% of vehicles were being lifted during rush hours in the morning while 24% during rush hours in the afternoon.

00:38 Almost 9,400 vehicles were lifted in Katipunan Avenue in the morning.

00:43 Those peak hours were from 7am to 8am in Northbound and Southbound Lane.

00:49 While 10,500 vehicles were lifted in the afternoon from 5pm to 6pm.

00:55 This morning, the MFDA inspected the area to find out adjustments that can be implemented.

01:01 It was led by MFDA General Manager Procopio Lipana.

01:05 The problem of the MFDA is that there is a lot of traffic because there are three lanes that are occupied by vehicles,

01:12 which are very far from the schools.

01:14 That's why they plan to put traffic cones so that only two lanes can be used by these vehicles.

01:19 MFDA will also add six traffic enforcers to the intersection, which will make it eight.

01:26 The Traffic and Transport Management Department of the Quezon City Government will also help in managing the area.

01:33 MFDA said that they have already coordinated with the management of the large school and there was a help last week.

01:43 We are looking at the possibility of applying here. If we look at their freezing area,

01:49 in vehicles that do not have stickers, maybe we can adjust it a little bit so that more vehicles can be accommodated

01:56 that are not tested here in Katipunan.

01:59 We are looking at the gate 2, the prom from Marikina.

02:03 There is a small service road there that has an entrance to the antenna for pedestrians.
