So, it is no longer news that the Weeknd recently released his controversial HBO show, The Idol, starring Lily-Rose Depp, and you might not believe it, but the ratings have been BAD and people's reviews for the show has been “sleazy and disturbing”.

One fan tweets, “Me watching the weekend making a damn fool of himself tryna act sexy.” Another says, “I would like to ask the actors who filmed this show how it feels to live without a single grain of discomfort because I experienced the nastiness and shame more than ever in my life in just 40 minutes”

The first season of the show is rated poorly on Rotten Tomatoes, with a top critic saying, “The Idol tries so hard to be edgy and coolly shocking that you start to feel sorry for the show.”

And now that Selena is calling out The Weeknd for manipulatively using her intimate details and her struggle with fame and addiction as storylines for the Idol. Fans are unapologetically siding with her. “I know it’s just a tv show, but watching the idol makes me look at the weekend differently… makes me wonder if HE WAS the sleazy guy when it came to Selena Gomez.” (tweet).
What is surprising is that this wouldn’t be the first time he would be throwing shade at her, but this time Selena has had enough.

So, how exactly did The Weeknd use her for his new show? and how is Selena dragging him for it? Let’s dive into all the details

First, a little run down about what the Idol is about. Lily-Rose Depp plays the role of a glamorous pop superstar Jocelyn who navigates the music industry's dark side under the oppressive control of Tedros, the mysterious owner of a popular nightclub with a sick and twisted mind, played by The Weeknd.

And although fans have only had negative things to say about the show since it came out, It turns out, the show could have actually been ONE of the BEST documentaries about the predatory side of the entertainment industry - IF Amy Simon, its original creator, had not left the show when it was almost done.
