00:00 What's normally a modest and quiet suburb is now being patrolled by police on horseback.
00:07 The community of Glenira College is still coming to terms with Monday's random attack
00:14 on a student.
00:15 Just I think like most parents overall, most schools everywhere are just concerned about
00:20 the sort of thing that's going on.
00:21 Is this quite concerning as a parent?
00:23 Yeah, yeah, it's a concerning thing. I never heard like that.
00:28 For other people who might be anxious about going out, I mean it's in your thinking.
00:33 It was in my thinking just coming out today.
00:36 A 14-year-old boy was violently abducted while walking home from the Glen Huntley School
00:41 on Monday afternoon.
00:43 Police say he was forced into a car by a group of people and left with life-threatening injuries
00:48 after falling from the vehicle near the intersection of Neeram and Grange Roads.
00:53 An attack which police have described as sickening.
00:57 The poor boy was just walking home with a friend and it would appear that it's just
01:01 a random attack by a group of offenders that were targeting, trying to obtain phones and
01:08 laptops and wallets.
01:10 Two teenage victims have since filed reports about being attacked or robbed.
01:15 The offenders are believed to be of Caucasian appearance in their late teens and were driving
01:20 a dark grey four-wheel drive at the time of the abduction.
01:23 A similar vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames in Dandenong just after midnight
01:29 on Monday night.
01:30 The extent of the 14-year-old's injuries are still unknown as police wait for his condition
01:36 to improve to speak with him.
01:38 Police say they believe the same group physically attacked other students on Monday afternoon
01:43 as well.
01:44 They're still appealing for further information and say other silent victims may have not
01:48 come forward yet.
01:50 In the meantime, the authorities issued a warning to students today to comply with offenders
01:55 if approached and report suspicious behaviour.
01:59 Detectives are continuing to appeal for vision within the area as they try to piece together
02:04 evidence.
