00:00 really appreciate something for us. Welcome back? Yeah, that's not quite the right word is it because
00:06 this is that moment of the evening when everyone's full of hope. They all think they may win an award
00:11 and then slowly but surely through the evening despair starts to kick in. So on the way out,
00:15 very different vibe. You've been to the NTA's many times before under different guises I guess,
00:20 with different company. Is tonight, does it feel different when you're against your former
00:25 colleagues as opposed to with them? Look, it's nice to see, I've just seen Susanna Reid and it's nice
00:30 to know that I won't have to get up as early as she will tomorrow. It's nice to see a new show like
00:34 ours get on NTA nomination because it's quite unusual. We've only been going 15 months and to
00:41 do it for interviews which is the thing that I think we do best. So we've had some big interviews
00:45 from Trump to Ronaldo to Kanye West to President Zelensky and so on. So it's nice to see that get
00:51 some recognition. Do you enjoy being the underdog per se? Because I guess you won before but now you're
00:56 in this new role. Yeah look, it's fun to be back on these carpets. I don't really like them very much
01:01 but I get through them, grip my teeth and then if you win it's a great night and if you lose you
01:05 just slope home and pour yourself a large glass of wine. Under your interviews that you've done
01:10 in the last year you've made so many viral moments and not done. Is that a conscious thing that you
01:15 made to happen during your interviews or just kind of consequence of the interviews? I think
01:19 it's a consequence but I think you are looking for all the time digital traction. That's the way
01:24 young people in particular consume the content. So you may as well play to the crowd and I'm very
01:29 glad that things like TikTok were massive with kids. They love it and they come up to you all
01:34 the time about Andrew Tate or Ronaldo or you know Kanye whatever it may be. I like that, that's the future.
01:40 So you've had Andrew Tate, you've had Trump, you've had so many kind of big personalities. Who have you found to be the most
01:46 challenging person you've interviewed? Trump is the hardest interview for anyone because he basically,
01:51 his technique is to say as you know peers you know and then he says something outrageous.
01:56 You're like I didn't say that. He sucks you in. So you've got to be on your on your wits with Trump.
02:01 I hear that your relationship with him has kind of you know gone up and down over the years. You're expecting him to go up again
02:05 you know and lead him to the next presidential election. I've interviewed Trump 40 odd times
02:11 and if he was to win again I'm sure I'd be down the White House interviewing him. He's the President
02:15 of the United States. I mean he's the most charismatic good and bad person in world politics.
02:23 Certainly the most followed, the most written about and he may pull it off again you never know.
