A Convicted Killer Escaped a Pennsylvania Prison — and His Mom Joined the Search for Him

The man was convicted of killing his girlfriend last month and escaped from prison in Chester County, Pa.

00:00 As you know, on the morning of Thursday, August 31st,
00:03 inmate Danello Cavalcante escaped from the Chester County Prison.
00:09 The investigation into the escape is ongoing and is being conducted jointly by the Chester County District Attorney's Office and the Pennsylvania State Police.
00:18 After the escape was detected at approximately 10 o'clock that morning,
00:21 a county employee reported seeing an individual matching the description of Cavalcante south of the prison and near Route 52.
00:29 Numerous law enforcement agencies searched that area but could not locate Cavalcante.

01:04 The most recent credible sighting occurred yesterday afternoon, also within that bordered area.
01:11 We have secured that area and continue to actively search it.
01:15 While there are a number of challenges, we are confident that if he is in there, we will find him.
