00:00 But you know we have going on here is a
00:02 big problem for the tropics.
00:03 We are out in the Central Atlantic
00:05 watching this area of concern,
00:07 which is likely to become a
00:09 hurricane over the next week.
00:11 It's going to draw toward the Leeward
00:13 Islands Friday into Saturday.
00:14 US impacts are possible with this area
00:17 of concern, but not for a long time.
00:19 September 14th would be the
00:21 earliest we could see impacts.
00:23 Let's take a look at what's
00:25 happening out here, folks.
00:26 The tropical tracker this week.
00:28 This storm will develop.
00:29 The conditions are very favorable for
00:32 it to develop into a named storm.
00:34 If it takes this more northern path,
00:37 it's less likely to impact the US directly.
00:40 And right now this more northern path
00:42 North of the Caribbean Sea is the
00:45 one that's more likely that looks
00:47 like where it's going to be steered.
00:49 With this upper level high,
00:50 the Bermuda high you call it as it's
00:53 going to move its way to the
00:55 northeastern Caribbean islands.
00:56 If you have interests in those
00:58 northeastern Caribbean islands,
00:59 there is going to be some
01:01 threat for some heavy weather.
01:03 We've got a tropical eyepath out for
01:05 this storm already and our expert
01:07 team of hurricane forecasters here
01:09 at the Accuweather Network shows
01:10 that we are expecting a major
01:12 hurricane to be giving a glancing
01:14 blow to the northeastern Caribbean
01:16 Islands this weekend and will have
01:18 a category four hurricane on our
01:20 hands as it moves north of the Turks
01:23 and Caicos as we head into next week.
01:25 So the tropical impacts we've
01:27 got these northern islands here.
01:29 The Virgin Islands next to Puerto Rico,
01:31 north of Guadalupe.
01:32 That's where we're going to be seeing
01:34 at least some impacts this weekend.
01:36 For the threat for mainly tropical
01:38 storm conditions, it looks like right now,
01:40 if the path holds true with what we think,
01:43 there will be 40 to 60 mile an hour winds,
01:46 perhaps 2 to 4 inches of rain.
01:48 So we're on the lower end here of the
01:51 scale for these northeastern Caribbean
01:52 Islands this weekend.
01:53 But we're watching another area of
01:55 concern in the wake of that one.
01:58 That's right now just coming off of Africa.
02:01 Will tell you in a little bit what
02:03 we can expect from that one.
