00:00 From 2011 to 2018 Duchess Meghan played the role of Rachel in the series Suits.
00:07 That's how she became known originally.
00:11 But shortly before she married Prince Harry and became part of the royal family, she left
00:15 the show.
00:17 Now television producer Aaron Kors reveals that the royals had influenced Meghan's
00:21 role before she left.
00:24 They are even said to have deleted an entire sentence from the character.
00:28 The series maker reveals to the Hollywood Reporter, "The royal family weighed in on
00:34 some stuff.
00:36 Not many things, by the way, but a few things that we wanted to do and couldn't do, and
00:41 it was a little irritating.
00:43 It was about the word 'poppycock.'
00:46 Kors wanted to put that word in a sentence because his wife's family used it a lot.
00:51 "My wife's family, when they have a topic to discuss that might be sensitive, they use
00:56 the word 'poppycock.'
00:59 The royal family did not want her saying the word.
01:03 They didn't want to put the word 'poppycock' in her mouth.
01:06 I presume because they didn't want people cutting things together of her saying 'cock.'
01:12 So we had to change it to 'bull' instead of 'poppycock,' and I did not like it."
01:18 While Aaron Kors didn't like the change, he also understood the situation.
01:22 "I had some sympathy because I wouldn't want somebody doing that to her either."
01:27 However, it is not entirely clear how the royals were able to get their hands on the
01:33 sooth scripts in the first place.
01:35 "I don't know how they got 'em.
01:38 I was aware that they were reading them because I got the feedback, but I don't remember the
01:43 process by which they got them.
01:45 Whoever it was, they didn't like having to tell me any more than I liked having to hear
01:50 it."
01:51 - Aaron Kors, The Royal Family, 2013.
