00:08 We've been invited to the Haven Park in Skagness
00:11 to see the changes since it was the Richmond Park.
00:15 Let's go and explore.
00:16 [Music]
00:28 I'm Luke Cullen, the General Manager of Haven Skagness.
00:32 Now Luke, we've just had a tour of the new Haven facilities
00:36 and for anyone that's been on the Richmond over the years
00:40 it's changed massively hasn't it?
00:43 Yeah, absolutely. I was here last year when Haven acquired the park
00:48 and I've seen first-hand the change in that 12 months.
00:52 It's been absolutely fantastic. We've been able to
00:55 transform the facilities that we offer, the activities that are on offer to our
00:59 guests including things like bungee trampolines,
01:03 the new activities like Nerf. The big thing for me is the difference in the feel and
01:07 the look of the park. We've been able to retain the family
01:10 feel but you just look around today it's absolutely fantastic. The venues look
01:14 first class.
01:16 Councillor Steve Cutt, you've just been on a tour of the site. What do you think?
01:21 It's amazing what they've done here. It really is. You can see where they've
01:24 spent the money and they've spent it really well.
01:26 The park is now really inviting, really clean, really friendly looking.
01:31 So yeah, credit to Haven. They've done a fantastic job and
01:35 you know they are saying this is now the number one park in Skagness and
01:38 they may well be true. It really is something that you should be very, very
01:42 proud of.
01:42 Do we need more investment like this?
01:45 Yeah, this is significant investment. Don't get me wrong. They have
01:47 spent a lot of money here but you can tell they've done that
01:50 and it's difficult. I know times are difficult for everybody but
01:53 I do believe that if people can afford to make that investment
01:57 they'll reap the benefits just like Haven are doing now.
02:00 We've caught up with the Cato family from Bradford-on-Haven.
02:04 What do you think to the park?
02:06 Oh, the park is very clean. It's very organised. It's very nice.
02:12 All the entertainment is right here where we need it. All in one place.
02:16 They pride themselves on being good value. Have you found that?
02:20 Yes, it is rent of average value.
02:25 Michael, your family's had caravans on this site for some years
02:30 haven't they? What do you think to the changes?
02:33 Much better. It's great. It's great especially for we've got two young children
02:38 and there's endless stuff for them to do. It's much better. It needed a bit of
02:42 modernising. We like the old site but it did need a
02:45 change and what they've done here has been excellent.
02:48 It's much better, we're very happy with it.
