00:00 Some San Mateo residents are worried because of the gradual expansion of their subdivision.
00:08 It has been a problem for a decade.
00:11 That's what was reported in the Sumbungan ng Bayan.
00:13 "There's a fallen branch here at the end. I hope it will be fixed."
00:24 That's the complaint of the Sumbungan ng Bayan from their resident, Santa Barbara Villas Juan in San Mateo, Rizal.
00:31 The land was first dug in 2015 and the gradual expansion of the structure above it.
00:39 The road and two houses were affected.
00:43 "The manhole was flooded. It was not fixed.
00:47 It was flooded until the land below it was flooded."
00:54 The developer of the subdivision did not take action.
00:58 "We reported it and they said it was just a promise."
01:02 The local government built a 100-meter danger zone in the area.
01:07 The developer also gave temporary relocation to the residents.
01:12 "We will run away if there's a strong storm because we are being asked to leave the municipality."
01:19 According to the Homeowners Association, their fund is limited so they cannot make the damaged part.
01:26 "The developer wants to turn over the land to us.
01:30 We are turning it over to LGU but LGU does not accept it until the big problem is repaired."
01:39 The developer tried to turn over the subdivision several times but the local government did not accept it.
01:48 "When you have a development plan that is submitted before the subdivision or home or residency is approved,
01:56 the roads and drainage must be repaired before it can even be turned over or given to LGU for maintenance.
02:07 Why will the LGU accept something that is not agreed upon?"
02:11 The local government of San Mateo, Rizal is ready to talk to the affected residents and the developer.
02:19 If the developer cannot help, they can go through a legal process.
02:25 In the statement delivered by the developer to GMA Integrated News,
02:29 he said they are already talking to the local government to resolve the issue and process the proper turnover of the subdivision.
