National Science and Technology Week held in Iloilo

00:00 The Department of Science and Technology will hold its annual Science and Technology Week

00:03 in November to take place in Iloilo City.

00:06 The event will showcase a range of innovations developed by DOST in its research and development

00:11 institutes and councils.

00:13 According to DOST Undersecretary Sancho Maboran, the exhibition will feature yarn, fiber and

00:19 clothing headed by Philippine Textile Research Institute.

00:22 And for the first time, they will showcase innovations related to maritime transport.

00:27 The Undersecretary also said that they are actively promoting and encouraging students

00:31 to explore the field of science through their initiatives that involves providing equipment

00:35 to the Tigigraw City Science High School.

00:38 The agency also said that they will continue to focus on commercializing innovations it

00:42 has developed to assist and help many Filipinos.

00:46 "The smart and sustainable communities where we are looking at catch-all programs of the

00:57 Department of Science and Technology.

00:58 And what we will do here is we will make a community laboratory or city laboratory.
