00:21 the flood did not stop at Doña Damiana de Leon Mackham Memorial Elementary School in Calumpit, Bulacan.

00:28 One day before the school opened, there was nothing to do in the classrooms that were still submerged in water.

00:35 The classrooms were being cleaned and can be used.

00:39 In this school in Calumpit, Bulacan, six of the classrooms still have water.

00:44 And you can see right here in front, there is still water, even in the back.

00:50 But the school's principal is sure that the children will not drown in the water.

00:56 It is proven that some of the classrooms were converted.

01:05 Because of that, the class is shifting first.

01:08 It is also important to reduce the school hours of the children from six hours to only four.

01:14 We will force them to catch up with the lessons that we did not tackle when we return to our regular classes.

01:22 We still have a storm coming. So we do not expect that by September, it will be dry.

01:28 It will probably last until October or November. It depends on the time.

01:34 Some electric fans and a laptop were also damaged.

01:38 The modules and books that were wet with water need to be thrown away.

01:43 According to the Department of Education of DepEd,

01:46 the classroom was damaged by the storm and those still submerged in the water.

01:51 In San Miguel, Maysula High School in Calumpit, there is no more flood.

01:56 The preparation for some classrooms is just about to end.

01:59 But Teacher Almira said that their school can flood again.

02:04 We are used to it because it happens every year.

02:08 When the storm comes, when there is a cancellation of classes,

02:12 we shift the modules and online classes so that the learning of the children will not be affected.

02:20 According to DepEd, the modules can be distributed to the beginning of the class

02:25 so that they can easily shift if the class is canceled due to bad weather.
